Lupita says later in the video she’s not interested in romantic relationships, so the situation is actually pretty favorable all thinfs considered. It’s not like if they both want to be in a relationship it would be hard for them to date seeing as they wouldn’t be able to have alone time with their individual partners. But like I said, Lupita doesn’t want a romantic partner, so it’s easier.

@@charlieguy6872 I think it's less about they shouldn't pass on their genes and more about the fact that it could hurt them. Pregnancy is already pretty rough on women, so a set of conjoined twins having a baby could kill them. (That's just my opinion but I'm.not a doctor or anything)
She says she doesn’t care, but she very much obviously does. As much as it would be great to just not care, there’s no way not to feel uncomfortable as a 3rd wheel to intimacy you can’t get away from nor do you consent to, but you also can’t deny your sister an intimate relationship if that’s what she wants. I can only imagine how intensely uncomfy that would be.
She's also aroace. As an aroace person I can't imagine being attached to someone and watch them flirt, kiss etc. Would be a nightmare for me.

their kids always become their victim and they're projecting their mental insecurity and outburst to their kids,and the kids will end up inheriting the same mental problems.
mental problems & outburst aren't something you want to inherit because it's hard to control, and you can end up shunned by the society & can't belong everywhere

That's the reason I won't ever have kids, even if I always have wanted to. I have too much trauma, severe PTSD major chronic depression and anxiety , I could never let a little innocent baby live in the hell I live in

Carmen was so honest, that is a fact, if you have some issues you can pass those on to your children, being healthy, mentally and physically is the one priority everyone should have, now a days not many people think like that
She seems so emotionally mature, it isn't easy to recognise the complications of asking if one can or should raise kids, beyond just asking if they want to. I really respect her outlook and feel that way myself in aspects. With a mix of Lupita's response too.
It sucks, I'm turning 28 next year and I'm beginning to realise that children can't be in the cards for me. I don't trust myself to be as good of a mother that I want to be, and I'm terrified that I'll pass my depression, anxiety and adhd down. It just hurts, because becoming a mother was always my deepest, strongest want in life. I've cried so much grieving the children I'll most likely never have.

@@chronic_payne5669 they are but they are realistic assumptions. When you know something isn’t possible for you eventually you come to terms and decide you’re “okay” with not ever getting them. That “okay” is not because they feel that way but because they have no choice. For her she does basically have to sit back and watch her sister live life “better” than her. She probably doesn’t believe she can have a boyfriend or things her sister can and is just complacent with “I don’t care” because at least then it feels like her choice. I’m assuming everything just like the original commenter but it’s something to think about. Her mental struggles are something we can’t comprehend.

That's such a responsible answer to the question of having kids. My daughter and I talk about this all the time. I cannot imagine my life without her, but I had her when I was young, and as I've gotten older, I've dealt with mental health issues that I see her dealing with at a much younger age. It's really hard to accept that that isn't something I even thought about when I had her. She has never wanted children herself, and this is one of the many reasons she doesn't either.
You are good for accepting and respecting your daughter's wishes.
My mother still occasionally encourages me to have children despite telling her I don't think I'm strong enough to handle a child.
@@hirahiro2331 A lot of parents do this. I'm not sure why. I think it's just because society has always told women, and men, that this is what they're supposed to do. I would never want my children to do anything they know they don't want to do or know they cannot handle, for whatever reason is theirs. I'm sorry your mother does that to you. I don't know anything about her of course, but I know a lot of mothers do this, thinking it's out of love, simply because they do not understand that choice, since they most likely fell into doing that themselves, without question. Young adults now ask more questions and consider the lifelong responsibility of children, which I think is a good thing. No matter what, you hold firm to what you know is best for you. Even if that means disappointing your mom. You can have a perfectly fulfilling life without becoming a parent. Your mental health should always come first before making that decision, and it's so hard for me to understand how parents can't see that now. Especially with all the talk about mental health these days.

I'm not sure Lupita doesn't care. I think she's accepted her role as the more passive one because she literally cannot get away & have her own life as the quieter one & so the more dominant personality will win out.
