These have to be the most adorable little girls I've ever seen. I couldn't stop laughing when Callie was thinking of what her one wish would be and Carter whispered to her, "A taco!"
I really love the way Callie and Carter's mom worded the situation; "They are typical kids, they're just in an untypical situation." and I can see that clear as day. Callie and Carter play and are energetic like any other child, they just get around a little different. Much love to this family! Chris is such a good role model. One of the first truly empathetic role models I've had. Every time I watch a video I am a little bit more inspired to develop my own sense of compassion.
Okay, how they move is probably the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. The fact that they don’t share a brain but can walk in sync like that is literally mind blowing! How in unison they are is beautiful!!
Everybody needs to watch these interviews. Carter and Callie are just like all the other kids out there who love lipstick, Taco Bell and aquariums. They have dreams, fears, interests, etcetera. They’re just kids, who happen to be conjoined twins. As humans, when we see people who are different, we automatically just see them as their diagnosis, without thinking about how they’re human beings who are just like anyone else. This was me before I found Chris’ channel. The work he does is life changing and is making a positive impact on our world. God bless you sir❤️
Heartwarming...humanity is doing war when there are bigger problems in this world... Research fruitarian diet and understand root causes of health problems. We all deserve wisdom and great health.
Oh my gosh you can tell how talented Chris is at interviewing at this point. He was really great at keeping their attention and moving the interview along when they are so bubbly and have so much to say. What a special place on the internet this is ❤️
I love how the reporter talk to the kids. He listens to them, answers like one should answer to a kid, with kindness, understanding, asking how they feel or felt,... showed a lot of love
Крутым ?.ты совсем дурак да ?за какие грехи платят эти дети наказал бог за грехи родителей это ужас так жить тихий ужас если бы ты был такой это круто так существовать ?имбицил ты не нормальный !
I don't think its that obvious, they have pretty much the exact same environments and genes and even some organs, it is interesting that they developed such different personalities in spite of that@@Mila808g
@@Mila808g Well it's like the nature nurture thing. It is very intriguing for two people to have the exact same genes and almost the exact same life experiences and still be so different.
It broke my heart to hear about the kids at school calling them a spider. Parents teach your children that its ok to ask questions its ok to be curious but its not ok to make fun of anyone. This starts in the home. Teach exceptence, teach that were not all the same were all different in our own unique ways. Everyone deserves love and exceptance. Everyone deserves friends. I think they are smart, fun and taken well care of and loved very much.
Don’t know if the kid said it to tease ,or if he was genuinely confused and made a comment without thinking . The kids are pretty young and don’t always understand what’s ok to say aloud. Explaining it kindly to them without anger, is the best lesson.
I have identical twin sons that are the same age. It brought tears to my eyes watching how these girls are exactly like my own sons. A twin relationship truly is astounding. They fight like crazy, but in the end, they are each other’s world. Lately they’ve been entering into what I call “twin land” together. It’s a place where the only two people who exist are each other. They zone out and play because no one else in the world matters more. Twins are such a beautiful thing to experience.
This exactly the same thing I thought. They are just like a other simple twins. There are always in twins one more active and funny and the other just more serious and patience.
As an identical twin myself - yeah, this still happens, and we're in our forties. My Mom says our conversations are like trying to watch a game of high-speed ping pong, and there's no one else in the world I can interact with in the same way. Since we spend a lot of time apart now, when we see each other it takes us a few hours to warm back up, but we hit our stride and then go outside where Mom doesn't have to hear, LOL.
People can say whatever they want about these two; they are just an average pair of sisters. they play, they tease, they love, that’s the beauty of life, it’s so uniquely beautiful
They have to have a better level of communication. Edit: Not due to hearing but due to the fact that they have to negotiate where to go and what to do all the time.
There's something poetic about the fact that all conjoined twins have unique anatomies. Everyone's special, but they carry their special on the outside and express their uniqueness in everything they do.
Omg! 38 year old roofer with 3 daughters and 1st boy on the way in june over here crying watching these Two with more joy and love in your hearts than anyone I know 😭🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 you guys are absolutely amazing! My heart and love goes out to you. God bless you both with an incredible long love filled life🙏🤍 Bravo mom and dad! The real hero's 😊
@@rustcohle9267 I mean sure. They can feel when the other is contracting their muscles and all that. But there’s been twins who can play sports together. That kind of being in sync has to be a mind melding of some sorts that only they would understand.
I remember reading Violet and Daisy's story (another pair of conjoined twins) and they said something like, "We saw others walking by themselves and we felt sorry for them, because they were not as we were." They were beautiful and talented women whose suffering came exclusively from the terrible treatment they received at every single stage of their lives. They were always thankul to have each other 💙💜
These little girls are a testament to their parents' unconditional love and regard for them. I love that they are such happy and talkative little girls.
I like how distinct their personalities are. Callie is much more mellow and introverted while Carter is clearly more of a leader. They complement one another very well.
They are so rough and tumble with their dad, and cuddly with mom lol. So adorable! I like how they are honest that it is tiring to walk and they'd rather crawl.
"there's.always ways to alter the story or better yourself..." that's the gold right there. Thank you for this inspiring family, blessings and love to you and all.
I really liked how you ask questions like 'What's the best thing about being sisters?' and let them answer however they want because that will reflect their personal experiences and point of views. Not asking them about being conjoined. You really show a sense of compassion and understanding.
That so many parents want to show their special kids on this channel, speaks of a desire for us to be more accepting, more compassionate, just more. Thank you for giving a voice to these kids.
@@purpleperc1012 I think you are underestimating the importance of awareness and creating normalcy. It is the only way for people to get introduced to all the different aspects of humanity. Don’t put a negative spin on something like this when you have no idea what you’re talking about. I have lived 100 lifetimes so far and the one thing I know for sure is that EVERYONE deserves a little sympathy and attention
I like that getting separated can be their choice when they're older if they want to do that or not, rather than the parents making the choice to put them through something like that.
I've been watching this channel for a few years now. I'm just an average guy who struggled with ADHD and depression, and I've had so many bouts of nihilism about life. I've even advocated antinatalism and committed to not having children of my own. But after seeing all these videos, especially seeing these two, my perspective has really shifted. These sisters are beautiful souls and it's incredible to see how happy they are. Life is just so strange and different for all of us.
My son dealt with those systems (ADHD and depression) as well as others. Know they have several places that can help with this. You matter and you're not alone. I may be stepping over a boundary bc you didn't ask, I just felt compelled to write this. You got this! What you wrote was wonderful and the end was so true "Life is just so strange and different for all of us". These girls brought a smile to my face, they are so precious.
If I'm being honest, I've dealt with guilt about having a child with the world so screwed up and climate collapse seemingly around the corner. I don't know specifically why you feel/felt that way about having children, but I do know that there are justifications for feeling that way. And it actually is a cool story bro, because I'm pretty sure the whole point of SBSK is making people understand each other and feel understood and sharing stories is how that happens.
You asked Callie about her wish, and Carter kept telling her to say "Taco Bell", but then when it was Carter's turn, she didn't answer "Taco Bell". 😂 I also noticed that while Callie focused on lipstick, fake nails, and dolls, Carter focused more on video games, alligators and the aquarium. What sweet, smart, considerate girls. It's really cool how they asked about each other and figured out a way to both do what they wanted to do. 👍👍
What’s sad is that it probably won’t. I hope they grow to love each other even more. I hope they have forever support from family. I’m “normal” and my family barely talks. Life is so hard. I truly hope the best for them.
I loved watching them interact with each other. What a special bond they have. I had conjoined twins that didn’t get to live beyond the first day of life. It’s been 22 years and I still think about them.
One of my favorite thing that kids do is narrate out little scenarios. Whether it's them describing the things they do or just imagining, they all do it and it's funny every time.
I work at a toy store and it always cracks me up when a kid this age tells me a story- they jump from subject to subject so quickly, they’re just so excited to be talking about whatever they’re talking about 😂
I commend the mom for sharing her truth about how she struggled with thoughts and decisions throughout the pregnancy. All the best for these girls to prosper as the get older.
@Violetta Denisova I study Polycephaly in animals. Recently at the lab I work at we have found that this is a genetic adaptation for all animals, instead of just being random fusion of embryos. So in reptiles that have the genetic trait and proper nutrient consumption, they will give birth to a dicephaly offspring. Which can benefit from neural symbiosis, better cell dispersion, and better regenerative processes. While I cannot speak to these adaptations in humans, I see some signs of these adaptations in Callie and Carter. They only disperse hearing into 1 ear per twin because its more advantageous. If you watch Callie when she moves her legs, Carter will tick (most likely because Callie has main control of dispersion through the CNS). Also I don’t doubt they have really good muscle development compared to most people. So I dont think anyone belongs in a zoo, they are an attempt of natural human genetics to evolve and move forward.
Abby and Brittany Hansel ( conjoined twins) are teachers now. They are REALLY good and the kids love them. These two are Cutie Pies. My dad, a Pediatric surgeon of forty years, discussed conjoined twins to me when I was a kid. I had a lot of questions. He has had a few difficult cases where he was head of the final team. When separation is considered it takes SEVERAL months of planning , possibly much longer. Consultations , meeting, discussions as well as practice runs are done until the final team of surgeons plus anyone else who needs to contribute in OR work in concert like a symphony when the time comes. Specialists are flown in from all over TO be that team. There is always a back up plan. Just an incredible process. It all depends on how they are conjoined. These two are doing great! Intelligent, healthy and best of all THEY ARE BEST FRIENDS!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@karenespindola7 Not so, they each have their own hearts. They possess only one urinary bladder, only one "bottom," but separate lungs, separate hearts, separate spinal columns, separate minds, thoughts, & pedsonalities. However, their parents have chosen _NOT_ to risk a separation surgery, as they have done SO VERY WELL as conjoined twins! (Thought you'd appreciate the clarification.)
Carter talks a mile a minute and her sister is so reserved but there's definitely some spunk there. Precious kids! They remind me of my own little ones.
I kinda, agree. It's probably not wise to seperate them now. It's their body- so they should make that decision for themselves when they are older and can properly comprehend the risks. The bladder part is a bit dodgey; but i've seen two girls separated and were similarly conjoined. Things did work out well for them in the end. But considering it's such a huge life change, its probably a good idea to let the twins decide when they're older.
I thought the same...these lovely girls may decide when they are older that they would indeed like to live independently of each other, but these 2 parents are so amazing that I'm sure they will support the girls 100% should they choose to be separated in the future ❤
Exactly what I was thinking! I went onto their instagram and was appalled at the amount of comments saying to separate them. That should be their own decision.
I think they are perfect just the way they are. I just wanted to chime in in what you said. Many times, and as much as we would like to give each individual the ability to make their own choices, that is just not feasible. Certain medical issues require parents to make those difficult decisions for their children. In hearing loss degrees that could benefit from cochlear implants, the auditory nerve and brain areas that process sound atrophy without stimulation, so if you get implanted in your later tweens or young adulthood, you will likely not be able to process/understand speech through listening. For conjoined twins, the recommendation is surgery before age 1: tissues need to be extended and grown, graffs prepared, bones grown, etc.; growth rhythms, healing rhythms, brain plasticity, those are all time-framed issues. If they were to decide to have surgery today, the consequences would be brutal compared to when they were born. I think they are lovely, amazing girls who will drive their parents nuts :)
@@karenespindola7 They have completely separate organs aside from their bladder. So yeah, its possible. The issue is that they will each lose a leg and one will have to have to have another surgery and wear a bag to hold their pee for the rest of their lives. Basically. So it would be a very life altering operation, for sure.
Callie and Carter are such distinctly different girls, but they work together so well! I can definitely tell Callie is the more quiet type while Carter loves to chat. Even while Carter is talking, she knows Callie well enough to say some of her answers for her, and Callie seems quite satisfied with simply chilling out. It's lovely to see them be so different yet so emotionally connected with each other.
They are so sweet. I love when Carter explains what they might do if they want to do different things - 17:03 - It's such a clever and amazing way to compromise and find solutions.
These darling little girls are spitfires. Their man clearly has a great influence in addressing issues that they have with moving and interacting with their peers. I really admire this mom's sense of calm and acceptance of Callie and Carter's sense of self. They are lucky they have her and vice versa. I love how the dad introduced us to "his" girls. Those little girls are a gift. And so are their parents.
My daughter is 2 1/2 years and autistic. We also have a 12 and 13 year old. I’ve watched this channel for awhile now and this dad gave the BEST advice I’ve heard. “A new life adventure that we weren’t prepared for is not the end, no matter what it is. There’s always ways to alter the story” Perfectly said
Yeah, and it would be such a much more beautiful world if we would allow all of us to be as different as we are instead of longing for all the same beauty standard like models! I appreciate that these parents were encouraged enough to get these twin children and even have a brother afterwards. I feel so touched in a good way. Thank you for introducing your kids to us. Love to all of you, nice family! Maren PS Did you ever thought about sign language for the twins? Might be easier for their communication if they are partly deaf. I am amazed how good they speak even if they are partly deaf. As I know from my sister that spoken language develops even better when deaf or less able to hear people learn first sign language. Because they will be able to express themselves more fully and after understanding the grammar of sign language they will be able to express even better in spoken words. Just give it a try ❤
These girls are so cute, smart, and adorable...but what struck me the most was the maturity of the parents and thier well balanced perspective + thier prioritization of the immense value of the lives of thier daughters. We need more parents like them of children in this country. Those girls will probably have a better life and a brighter future than many who are gifted with what we ignorantly classify as "normal" bodies and situations. God bless this family in every way.
This was an absolute delight to watch. I am glad this mom showed delight in her twin daughters and decided to show life and love to the beautiful children.
As someone who was born disabled I am so glad I wasnt just thrown away. Disabled people of any type have value if you cant handle raising a disabled child others will gladly do it. Callie and Carter are amazing and such a wonderful example of the value of all life what awesome parents what an amazing Mom for trusting her heart and not being pushed to dispose these amazing children. I could watch these two kids all day they are just an utter delight. Well done Mom and Dad for giving them all the love and normalcy they need and deserve. I hope and know they will have a great life even with the bumps in the road it is obvious they have been given a great foundation by their parents and they both know they have each other always.
It's about the value of woman's bodily autonomy, about the value of her health and life. If this woman chose to have her girls, it's HER choice, not my business. My choice would be different and it's not your business.
Callie and Carter are absolute little darlings. I love how chatty they are. So glad mum and dad stuck to their guns and brought these sweet little girls into the world 💕
yes!...best decision that the parents ever made!...what a blessing to have these two around!...so full of life and energy they are both funny and very intelligent for their age!❤
The way they run originally freaked me out, but then you realize how mobile they are together and it’s kinda amazing. Like you think it’d be hard, but they make that and walking look easy despite both legs being controlled separately. And with 2 sets of ears for balance on a single body too. When they say walking is hard, no one can even imagine how it would feel or be like
@@davidadams2395 I mean, best outcome is they're probably less prone to falling like a standing human would. When you get older it's sometimes just easier to crawl, it might even put less strain on them because it's more limbs holding them up. Who knows tho.
It must be so hard to keep these girls focused at school! They seem so silly and fun! I am a teacher and it is hard to keep kids focused even when they aren't literally attached to each other. They seem like tons of fun
I was thinking the same thing! I was a preschool teacher for a little over 5 years and have had students who are very bubbly and silly like these two haha
I know! I work at a girl scout camp with kids around their age and I just know these girls are the kinds of kids that just make everything fun and exciting. I'm glad that their personalities are shown so well here!
I'm so happy that mom shared her experience about her worries while pregnant but that she is thankful she had her babies. They are precious and worthy of life.
But even if she had decided to terminate, that would have been fine too. Taking on the challenge of raising conjoined twins is brave and commendable, but not everyone is in the position to successfully parent disabed children. She is happy with her choice and that is all that matters!
How are they amazing parents they allowed a mistake into this world to live a very lonely in oddball life is one thing to be a conjoined twin there’s another thing to be human a worm
I appreciate Momma Bear being forthcoming about how she was pressured to abort prior to delivery because of the diagnosis as well as explaining why they chose to not pursue surgical separation. I think it's cool how they take turns being in the sitting up position, like they have an unspoken agreement! How philosophical these twins are already at six. They are an inspiration. Their parents too should be very proud of themselves for ‘not giving up on their story…‘ … even the twins management of unkind comments at school shows they’ve had perfect guidance to build good self esteem..they were a delight to watch and listen to.❤ thank you Callie and Carter

I'm going to smile for the rest of my life because I saw a conjoined twin whisper to the other twin "...a taco. Taco Bell." like it's my inner voice. I'm crying right now.
Wow, they are absolutely adorable. The Mom has made all the right decisions about them and the Dad has a great attitude towards them. That is one happy family there. Best wishes.
Interviewer is the best. He meets people where they are on their journeys. He asks really insightful good questions and makes instant connection with his subjects.
What sweet girls! For having hearing difficulty, I can understand everything they said. They seem quite articulate for six years old. It was certainly a pleasure to meet them and their family. I’ve never heard of conjoined, twins parents speaking about what a shock it would be for the doctor to tell you at such an early point in pregnancy that your babies are conjoined. I know I would also be in shock, who wouldn’t. Thanks for sharing your story! You have a wonderful family!❤❤❤❤✌🏻
I love what the dad said about every set of conjoined twins being a snowflake... that’s a beautiful way to put it. I don’t think I’d separate my own either.
Hey, Chris! I really appreciate the easy to read captions, but if I could make a suggestion: it's much easier to follow captions when you're deaf if there's something to distinguish between each speaker (like perhaps the white text could always be you and it could be other colors for different speakers? I don't think that would affect legibility since the orange border stands out so well). Given we have to focus so much on the captions, sometimes it's hard to visually tell who said something. It's easier when it's just you and one special guest, because your tone is recognizable, but I struggled to follow this one because I couldn't tell which twin was saying what. Thanks for all you do!
@@ultimatesunrise i doubt its that complicated for a guy like chris. Maybe it is for you though. Luckily your not the one making videos to educate about the disability community.
I like how they do captions on tv or movies. They put the name of the person speaking in front of the captions. Maybe he could just do that if the color thing doesnt work out.
@@ultimatesunrise I mean, I don't think changing font color is that hard, but guess what buddy, accessibility is complicated. Doesn't mean we don't deserve it.
I think this is my favorite interview you’ve ever done. These girls are so incredibly adorable. Their parents are such wonderful people. ❤️ I’m so glad their parents gave them a chance at life. As a mom to two kids with special needs myself, I am appalled at the medical field and how they view those with extra needs. No matter what happens in the future, these girls were absolutely meant to be and I believe their impact on those around them will be profound.
I have wanted a lipstick tattoo since last year and now, after this video, it really gets a new, awesome meaning. Let me explain; last year I tried to commit and almost passed away. I ended up in a psych ward but my family lives very far away from here and no one could bring me stuff from the outside. My lips were so chapped I lost a lot of blood daily. I had a terrible blister because I kept biting it from stress. I ended up asking for one to a person that was there, her parents gave me one. I was so miserable. Lipsticks now remind me of a luxury, something that's taken so granted but in there it was something I dreamed of. It keeps me grounded to think about it. To remember those hopeless nights. I don't want to go back there even if I struggle daily and often think about doing it again, I won't. I want to survive. When the little girl mentioned it, an infinity of lipsticks, it really made me smile and added a new layer of the tattoo I'll get. From now on the tattoo I'll get will not only remember of my journey and growth but also of these beautiful girls and how much life is fragile, perfect but imperfect and most of all important. (English is not my first language so excuse me if there are any mistakes).
As hard as life is, anyone can get through it and the hard parts do eventually pass. You are a strong individual, keep doing things that make you happy and cherish everything that you have. I wish you all the best 💗

Ah yes, the perfect combo. Lipstick Taco Bell themed aquariums.
bruh, did you even watch the video? The girls literally that, they’d wish for lipstick, tacos, and going to the aquarium every day off of school😭

I always find it adorable how hard it is to keep kids on topic.

they’re not average, and there’s nothing wrong with that
They have to have a better level of communication.

You asked Callie about her wish, and Carter kept telling her to say "Taco Bell", but then when it was Carter's turn, she didn't answer "Taco Bell". 😂
I also noticed that while Callie focused on lipstick, fake nails, and dolls, Carter focused more on video games, alligators and the aquarium.

I work at a toy store and it always cracks me up when a kid this age tells me a story- they jump from subject to subject so quickly, they’re just so excited to be talking about whatever they’re talking about 😂
Their little childish ramblings, both twins have charming personalities
I can't see this as adaptation if you can't survive on your own in nature

Surgeons are heroes but you don't often get to see one until a doctor deems you worthy of their time.

Eu havia entendido que elas dividiam um só coração..
I really appreciate the fathers message at the end. I try to abide by that myself. “Never give up. There are always ways to alter the story.”

Did you ever thought about sign language for the twins? Might be easier for their communication if they are partly deaf. I am amazed how good they speak even if they are partly deaf. As I know from my sister that spoken language develops even better when deaf or less able to hear people learn first sign language. Because they will be able to express themselves more fully and after understanding the grammar of sign language they will be able to express even better in spoken words.

I am so thankful that you kept them! God bless you, dearly beloved! You without a doubt, did the right thing, by bring them into the world! God bless you abundantly always
Oh my gosh, they’re so adorable! They both have such unique personalities but they compliment and work together so well. I can tell they’re really smart and mature for their age too. Their parents are doing a wonderful job raising them.
They are so brilliant. What compassionate, fun loving kids. Mom and Dad are doing an amazing job.
The parents have so much love in their hearts. To give these girls a chance has to be one of the hardest decisions anyone has had to make.
I believe they have the right to independence.
Why would it be hard to love your child? Typically a mothers love is unconditional
@@GanjaDollexactly. Loving my twins was EASY.
@@JOURNEYIN2THEUNKNOWN im sure they’ll appreciate that. I can’t wait to love my future child no matter what ❤️
No it's not. It's the most natural thing to a loving mother.
Great idea i second it!
Sounds too complicated
@@ultimatesunrise i doubt its that complicated for a guy like chris. Maybe it is for you though. Luckily your not the one making videos to educate about the disability community.
I like how they do captions on tv or movies. They put the name of the person speaking in front of the captions. Maybe he could just do that if the color thing doesnt work out.
@@ultimatesunrise I mean, I don't think changing font color is that hard, but guess what buddy, accessibility is complicated. Doesn't mean we don't deserve it.
Der Mensch ist ein anpassungsfähiges Wesen , man gewöhnt sich an alles . Gezwungener Weise . Es ist schwere Kost für mich .

As hard as life is, anyone can get through it and the hard parts do eventually pass. You are a strong individual, keep doing things that make you happy and cherish everything that you have. I wish you all the best 💗
