They should have different version for the ds and psp honestly. Ds should have sticked to 2d due its limitation and psp full 3rd person 3d like the rest
HD Universe Liberty City literally cannot fit on mobile platforms because of the size needed, that's why they went with the 3D top down perspective. Camera allows them to significantly cut the actual height of skyscrapers and buildings

I would like to see another 2d/3d game of chinatown wars, also the game was actually 3d, the city was 3d with some 2d graphics and some tricks they used, you can check the 3d mod to see how it actually looks, you'll be surprised.

It could be really neat. Chinatown Wars and this idea of a mod also made me think, that making tuner variants of cars could be nice. Like, in GTA V, they seem to not be able to have a "hydraulics" variable for cars that can be changed with just tuning, so lowriders are conversions into a clone of the car. Same with wide-body kits later on with new updates. So for this game, where you couldn't change wheels, or add liveries, those Chinatown Wars tuned cars, with two-tone liveries, could be an inspiration for this, with a clone car with different wheels, two-tone livery made with secondary color, maybe slightly wider track width, with some options of wide-body or wheel arches.. This could work in GTA IV. Even outside of a conversion/remake mod, just as a feature of a mod to improve car customization.

I wish there was a way to insert the minigames into gta 4 somehow. Ive been wondering why nobody has tried to re-create Chinatown wars into gta 4 with a mod.

I love this trailer but i wish rockstar paid attention to the underrated games, gta chinatown wars is the first gta i ever played and it is the best game of the entire franchise, i like gta 4, sa, vc, 5 and others but this one is unique. Im glad that this game got a decent remaster for mobile and a psp port (i played ds mainly) but I really hope we get a remaster that is 3d instead of 2d because i would definetly buy it.
Only thing I felt was missing was the mini games like dating, bowling, pool, and golfing. Catching the train was a staple in the GTA Iv series which you can’t do either in Chinatown wars. The drug dealing, racing mini games, storyline is great.
I think they didn’t put them in due to fears of the game becoming too heavy. Regardless, we still got things like tattoo artistry, illegal street race, warehouse raid, truck hijacking, etc. Frankly, I don’t think I care about GTA V’s bank robbery that much. They should back warehouse raid, narcotics dealing and truck hijacking, these are fun!
One thing is wondering me that why they didn't use same vehicles in iv for this game? it makes game looks older than iv in fact the timeline of the both game is in 2008&9 but they didn't use some stuffs for chinatown wars like iv

Chinatown Wars literally is gta iv mobile. A lot of reused assets from it. Hot dog stands and buildings like that hospital with corner warped stairwell with hot dog stand at the bottom

The game was originally made for the DS. There was only so much they could've done dealing with limited hardware.
