- In his 25th year of running the TAS Racing team alongside his father, Hector, Philip Neill has a rich history in the world of motorcycle racing both on short circuits but more notably on the Roads. The teams roster of riders reads like a who's who of Road Racing royalty and this chat is just a glimpse of that history.

The only channel worth watching all the adverts for, absolutely fantastic. Another great interview, I only wish Hector & Philip Neil would write an autobiography, the stories those men could tell would be worth a read. Road racing loyalty! 🏍️👑🏁☘️
Cheers, Daniel! Genuinely, watching the adverts is a great way to help us bring you bigger and better shows so thank you so much :-)
Never thought of it like that am gonna watch them through now to
Wow. Philip Neil! He & Hector have virtually defined what racing is for years. They're passionate, they're racing for the right reasons, it's not a Vanity project.
And the people they've worked with ...Guy, Hutchy, DJ, Anstey, Archibald.
Now Stuart Shendon who also worked with Kevin Schwantz.
Absolutely fantastic 👍
Thanks Colin, so glad you enjoyed it 🙂
TAS racing has a fascinating history of riders over the years with so much success.
They also know what price some riders give chasing their dreams.
Hopefully Davey will bring back a P1 over the next few days.
Agreed completely, Jon - hopefully we’ll get to do a full chat later in the year and talk about the highs and lows. Hopefully DT can bring more highs 🤞🏼
What a fantastic pod…..as always, and how much history with TAS racing, you could fill hours of footage 👍👌🇮🇲
Hopefully we'll get the chance to do a longer show after the season ends, glad you enjoyed it Andy!
Sounds great…keep up the awesome work , always look forward to the latest podcast.👍👌🇮🇲🏆
Phillip is a man of deep thought based on time served experience, DT made the right decision to “step back”, and having just watched this in mid June we all now know that he bossed the TT . Rory is just a natural talent that still be in moto 2, their loss our gain . Thanks Dave
A good interview with a clever man
Great chat again good luck with the TT
Hector and Phillip Neil have given so much to racing for many years with many great riders . Probably their greatest rider had he not been killed at Silverstone in British GP in 1983 was Norman Brown one of only a select band of Riders to win the Senior TT at the first attempt as he did in 1982, some rider he was.
A name I’m familiar with, such a sad story and a talented rider. Thanks for watching, Christopher 🙏🏼
You said it Dave, an absolutely fascinating look into the world of motor bike racing, and a huge helping of common sense.
Thanks so much, Ian - great bloke with an exceptional view on life and racing 😊
Loved that one Dave, another great insight. That one definitely was nowhere near long enough due to the limited time you had, hopefully you can do a part 2 at some point in the future.
That’s the plan, Andrew - we’re planning a trip over at the end of the season and Philip is top of the list for a more in-depth chat
Great to hear from Philip on the team and a good follow on from Davey's interview showing reasons for the way things really had to go for the team .I do hope that Philip and the team will continue for a while yet in superbike these interviews just show what's involved both in the amount of work getting funding in for teams not an easy job for all involved .👌👍 Cheers guys .
Well done Dave. How honest and revealing. What a team.
Proper gentleman that man
Agreed, Mick 🙏🏼
Love this. The background info is brilliant, helps build a bigger picture rather than just the glossy TV stuff. Nice one Dave
Thanks, Shrew! A little secret… I went into that one blind because most of my kit was back at the house. We asked if Philip was available the following day, he said no but I am now if you want to do it! Glad we had the mics and a phone, bare minimum kit 🤦🏼♂️
Great interview …it makes a difference when team managers shoot from the hip…great work👍
Kind words, thanks so much 🙌🏼
Lovely hear this legend from the business. Would be great to have a 2nd chance and do an even longer one. 🙂
I’m hopeful we can do something after the season ends, Abel 🙂
When I did schoolboy mx nationals Philip was one of the top riders of that time , the Irish invasion including the chambers brothers, coincidentally same class as the late paul bird also bloody fast in their day.
Interesting to hear a more technical side to the modern bikes and setup. thanks.
Much appreciated, Paul 😁
Great interview , so knowledgeable Philip Neill .
Thank you, Paul 🙂
How good was that? cracking interview with Philip, well done 🥃
Thanks Neil! To say he caught me off guard would be an understatement (hence the unusual camera angle with the phone rather than the regular cameras) we asked if he was free on the Friday, he said no but I am in an hour… so all done with no notes and very little kit. So glad I had the mics with me! 😳
Thanks
Andrew thank you so much 🙏🏼
That was very interesting 👍
Very much appreciated, thanks Mark 😊
