Catching Sharks from the Beach - Matagorda Surf Fishing by Fisherman ATX

For years, I have not been able to catch a shark above 4 feet. I watched a lot of videos, read a lot, but I get few runs but never landed anything over 4 feet. I also never dedicated my fishing trips to shark fishing only. As you saw in my previous videos I like to target redfish, blackdrums, sheepsheads, and so on. But after this trip, I think that I'm now hooked on Shark fishing.
In this video I used live mullet as there was plenty on the surf very close to the shoreline and since the surf was very rough, I didn't use my kayak, but walked to the 1st sandbar and casted the live bait. It worked like magic. I did get more runs than what I posted on this video, but I think I got the pattern now and hopefully next time, I'll be more successfully in catching more sharks 😊

Thanks buddy! Yah, the swells were 4 feet plus. I did yak before in bad conditions, but this time it was one set after the other. There was no break where you could build the momentum to go over the next set of waves. But still turned out good day out there 😊

@@MADFISHINREELS Yes, One of them is the Avet 50w and the other one is PENN Senator 6/0

@@MADFISHINREELS No I only have Small Daiwa sealine reels SHA20 for Breakaway LDX, SHA30 for HDX, another one with SHA40 and I also have SHA50 and another PENN conventional reel. I forgot the name of it. I'll have to go check it out lol. The Spinning reel is the original PENN 9500 that were made in the US back in the days.
