I remember when the first Golf 1.6D came out yonks ago and people said it had no powee but after a few years diesels became powerful, smooth and really economical. Engineers work their magic. Now the same is happening to battery technology in BEV's and we see the range increase year on year and battery costs decreasing and longevity less an issue. Mass adoption in nigh. God bless engineers!
Thanks for the update Mark, I had an Karoq before i got an Enyaq and i am looking forward to the full reveal. I can see a lot of the Enyaq in this and would think they will have the Elroq 85X in Ireland as you can tow more with the dual motor meb. This is top of my list for my next car so looking forward to you getting it on Irish roads to give it a proper test.
If only we had a summer I'd go for a mint ice cream.
Yes this would be on a shortlist for me....but only in dual motor form.
Looking forward to the big reveal in October.
Skoda do know how to make cars that are not simply form and style over function....something I appreciate very much.
It's bound to be a success Skoda don't make bad cars.
Afternoon mate
Hi Nobby,,, seems to have a good range,,, but hope that have the vw software sorted and not all controls on the screen,,,, roll on October,,
Škoda has managed to get the main controls as dedicated hardware buttons.
@@e-redj ah right...thanks for the update
I like the flamingos in the windows , everything else ……
Would like the RWD of the Skoda, but are the controls going to be as practical as EV3 ? Going to be a lot of head-to-heads of those two when they’re released.
Would be a great comparison test for sure!
From the side it has a look of the old ford C-max
Still at 4.5m quite a big car and a lot bigger than say the Karoq. Patiently waiting for more ID3 sized competitors

Hi Nobby, your opinion please.
My brother in Melbourne is looking to move to EV in early 2025 (tax benefits); short list is new Volvo EX40 RWD, Volkswagen ID.4 and BMW iX3 M-Sport RWD. The Volvo and BMW are both around $86k in Australia, the 2025 VW ID.4 and ID.5 are due to arrive in Australia end of 2024.
Your thoughts please...
What price are the other two?
@@NobbyOnCars Volvo is around $86k, BMW is $88k and the ID.4 is expected to come in at around $80k.
My opinion is the BMW iX3 is best, good 'value' vs the Volvo EX40 and ID.4 from VW.
For comparison, the Tesla Model Y is priced at $60k in Melbourne, driveaway price. BYD Atto 3 long range is $52k.
@@Richard-sl8we You also get the Kia EV5 in Oz too - that should be worth a look as well ?
@@Mancozeb100 Not yet launched, delayed to end of 2024. No pricing yet. I agree, it's worth a look. The Earth spec is the pick of the range in my opinion, I'm guessing around $68k, driveaway price in Melbourne.
@@Richard-sl8we Ahh, right … didn’t realise it had been delayed. A good few Oz YT vids about it. Only concern for me is that it’s being built in China. But then… so is so much other stuff !!
Looks alright but the price 😮
Looks like a spearmint chewy. 🤣🤣
dimensions? it's smaller than an enyaq does not cut it.
4488mm long, an Enyaq is 4685mm. You’re welcome.
@@NobbyOnCars Nice but no idea if that will fit in my narrow garage, other sites suggest 2025mm with mirrors out in driving position
@@tomquimby8669 Fun Fact: If you ask him nicely Nobby will come out to your house and measure your garage for you. He brings his own tape and everything and you don't even need to stop dribbling into your bucket.
@@PotBanginEejit You must be fun at party's, your derision must be really appreciated. here though you just come across as a muppet.
@@tomquimby8669 lol First you complained about dimensions so you could compare it to an Enyaq. Then you complained about dimensions so you could fit it in your garage.
Lol if you go a party remember your bucket
If Bianchi made a car…
It will be overpriced again …
Too big only 150mm short of the Enyaq and far too expensive haven’t anyone told Škoda that the Chinese are coming with far better & cheaper EV’s!
What’s the price on this?
@@NobbyOnCars starts at £40,000 on the small battery. All the big named manufacturers are going to get hammered on price. Should have started making mass market small cars first and not waiting till 2026 for the VW id2
no prices for Ireland yet though....
