Glad for the update on your home...been awhile. Walls and rod iron look great! On your next video, if you figured it out, would love to see how you were able to fix the "finishing touches" on your kitchen countertops that needed bullnose or whatever you figured out. Also, you did one on your brothers house and was wondering how that build was going? Congrats on the home build!
Hello Travis. Thanks for dropping a comment. I haven’t worked in the kitchen much. I want to save some money and get granite. My brothers house is going well. However his wife is very private and doesn’t want me to upload videos of her house.
Thank you for these videos! Happy New Year!

Hello. I made the layout. An architect did the legal rendering to get permits. 😊
Also you said the wall cast you $2K and it is 15 feet hight , what is the length of that wall ? Thanks really appreciate 🙏
Hello Jeshua,
Hola Laura. Gracias for tus comentarios te lo agradezco mucho.
Hello Vic , another informative video. Are there any homes under construction up for sale in your area? I've been searching online and not much updated. You can imagine my frustration. I love that particular area. It seems so peaceful and tranquil away from the hustle. God bless you and yours.
Hello Gabriela. Thank you as always. I have a video coming up of properties for sale in my are. (Empty lots) no building. The English version should come out the end of the month.
@@yeshuaismyredeemer Thank you , as that would be so helpful. God bless
I will be in Ajijic from Jan. 6 to Feb. 6.
Super nice. Hope you enjoy 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Victor ~ I am new to your channel but very interested in following. I have had a small condo in Central Mexico for 20+ years that I bought just as it was at the end of construction. I have been away for a few years due to world events and personal circumstances but plan to return soon,!sell the condo and build another house on a lot that was purchased about 7 years ago, closer to Centro. My condo is similar in construction to yours and it gets very cold for about 4 months of the year, as it is at a high elevation. My question for you is: what would be the best way to insulate a concrete house on the interior? Thank you in advance for your attention to this request. Pamela
Hello Pamela. Welcome to my channel sorry for late answer. I was actually in Mexico and disconnected from everything. There is a place called Mazamitla in Jalisco where it’s get pretty cold. I have heard but can’t confirm that the houses are build out of wood like the US. Insulated the same as the US. I’ve also heard that people build traditional brick home and place wood framing in the inside dry wall it and insolarte it. But I have never actually seen them. Sorry I can’t help that much.
Hi guys, also, brother Vic. Some people in Mex. Build with cinder blocks the blocks when it gets cold the blocks get ice cold and when it gets hot you touch the walls and you get burn, but red bricks are termic or termicos when it gets hot home stays cool and when it gets cold the home stays alittle warmth assuming you get the cement roof if you don't hard to keep either way. Some people like wood roofs with clay tiles it might be good during the heat cause of air ventilation, but during cold no good. But if it is all brick plus cement or vigas in between brick roofs, if people use the modern vynil windows double insulated good for hot cold plus no noise from streets, you can have a train pass on the street if windows close hard to hear. That's what people use in Baja Tijuana area gets so hot and so cold. Any ways hope it helps brother Vic. And lady asking. Ps. Blocks are hollow inside.

Hey how much does it cost to build the wall? I Bought a land 20m x30 m in Oaxaca and planning to build wall around , how much do I need to budget for it ? Thanks
Hello. Typically in the south of Mexico things are much cheaper. The wall in the house I built was 2k because of the depth we had to build first since it serves as a retaining wall. It should be closer to 1,500 the wall measured 15 long by 3 meters high, stuccoed and wired for light. A regular wall with out stucco or electricity should of cost me more like 1000. In your zone it’s about 10% cheaper in labor and materials (rough estimate) so a wall that size with no stucco or electricity should cost you only about 900$. Labor cost for two people in that area should not cost you more then 2000 pesos per week. About 120$ a week per person, x 2 people comes about to be around 240 a week for two people. It’s takes about 2 weeks or less to build a wall that size. So about total in labor no more then 480, the rest is in materials. Hope that helps
hola cómo está, ya también estoy haciendo una casa como te puedo hacer llegar unas fotos
Hola Marino qué tal gracias por tu comentario. Puedes mandármelos a : idiscover.mexico@gmail.com
Thanks for your informative videos. Would you consider the costs to build fairly the same across Mexico? You may not know the answer to that and I understand. I'm personally liking the Baja region.
Hello Brian. The cost of building in Mexico vary a lot by state and city. Like everything else. The closer you are to big city is more expensive. If the area has tourism even more. South Mexico is cheaper then North Mexico. Baja would be on the upper cost of things.
@@yeshuaismyredeemer What would be upper costs, if you have an idea? 1/3'd more or??
I bought a 300 square meter lot in the Tijuana region of otay back in 2015.. I paid 25k for it, from what people have told me that same lot now probably cost around 50k..that’s what I’ve been told from the locals..not sure if that help, but northern parts of Mexico will be more expensive, as it should because your closer to the US…
Close to double in middle Mex. Labor cheaper cimientos mid.mex 200. To 250 In Baja labor squere meter 500 pesos labor only almost double on the labor. Bricks over 7000 per 1000 bricks rebar in Baja 10 meters long central Mex. 12 meters long about same price Baja will cost 2 thirds more than central Mex. Plus the materials workers steal if you not supervising very expensive. But way cheaper than the states.
