As a lesbian, Adore confuses me.
Call it “lazy,” but to me this is the epitome of real, because Adore’s drag represents so many girls I actually KNOW. You don’t need to be cinched and padded to high heaven for effective female impersonation/femme drag. While I do think cinching and padding is an art form in its own right, it’s ridiculous to me to act like women don’t come in a variety of shapes and sizes, like only super curvy or stick thin shapes are valid body types for women. Some women are boxier! Some aren’t super thin but still aren’t super curvaceous! To me, great drag has a lot to do with performance and attitude. Adore is a kick ass performer with a great personality, who also happens to be cute as hell. She doesn’t need to be corseted to prove some stupid point. She’s talented and super entertaining!

Out of all the contestants who have ventured into music.....this is hands down, finger snaps, lighters up in the air the best attempt. The concept of the video ( the editing!), the Cutlass, my God the pregnant chola, all the characters in the laundromat....blondie boy! The current sound of the music ( had potential radioplay) the coy D.T.F. messaging the kids would get. You can tell there's some musical artistry and thought behind this that lends it to be legit. Not a gimmick.
