Great vid. Back in 1972 (when I was just 7 yrs old) my 17yr old brother had a Yellow and Black Lambretta GT200 on a 'B' plate. It was bedazzled with mirrors, screen, backrest etc and i absoloutley loved it. I used to get so excited when about 8 of his scootering mates used to arrive at our house in Wrexham before they all went out for the day. One of his mates (Griff) always used to take me for a quick ride around the block as a pillion - with me wearing a kids plastic motorcycle helmet!. Some great memories :)

Very knowledgeable. Obviously. Fried my brain though, 2 minutes in, and I could feel the curtains drawing and I was just admiring the shapes and the colours. A phenomenal collection, it’s the ice cream wagon for me. Thank you.

Excellent video. All owners and former owners of Lambrettas, such as myself, must be appreciative of it as it conjures up the spirit and the history of our youthful passion for the sleek scooter. Indeed a sentimental journey into the past with typical English understatement.

Brilliant footage. It was great to see all those cool Lambrettas. My first was a 'Vega' , which all my mates laughed at, followed by a 'Starstream', which wasn't popular either.

Fantastic collection - and for me also, my all-time favourite is the SX200. The older brother of one of my best mates at school had an SX200 which is almost exactly the same as the one shown in this video. ('Old English White' with 'Ice Blue' panels). He had it re-bored up to 250cc and kitted out with chromed mirrors, racks and rails. It was drop-dead gorgeous and sounded/went like stink! He was a really smart guy - wore all the latest Mod/Smoothie gear (Crombie coat, Levi stay-press jeans, Ben Sherman shirts and Royal Brogues). Back in the late 60's he was the 'Ace Face' in our street - but I'll always remember his beautiful Lammy!

Bucket list item for me, know nothing about mechanics but know what looks great and these bikes are the best! Loved the program and the presenters knowledge is exceptional and admirable

This is a superb video really enjoyed it. I have had a few lambrettas and although am into bikes now I will never forget the fun I had on a lambretta. If top gear are still looking for presenters I would suggest this guy as very good .

This is great stuff! Hearing about the evolution of a machine is fascinating to me. I am surprised to hear him describe of the many mechanical issues, design problems and quickly abandoned models Lambretta had up to the early sixties - while Vespa seem to stay consistent course of development based on the initial design. It seems that Lambretta may have rushed some models into production just because they had bigger engines in order to compete? The outward design of the Lambrettas were just beautiful!!!

FANTASTIC I miss my 175cc Lambretta. I got in for 100 bucks in L.A. ..road it all over Venice/Santa Monica in 1980's.
I love the history of the scooter ad how it put folks back to work and on the road in Italy after WWII. I want to buy an old Lambretta..any info on that? Thanks for all you do!!!
