@@RED-xi7bp , V6 engines came out in 2014. This model is a 2012 utilizing a V8. You can tell the difference by the way the front nose looks and also the sound. V6 doesn't sound like that.
Hmmmm🤔 Why is it they still use the "atmospheric V8" for DEMO's instead of the great and wonderful 'V6 TurboHybrid' ?? I'd say use the current todays F1 cars because according to some people they are better, more modern, sound better and more people will go and watch them! Or is that not the honest true? F1 2021 changes🖕🏻 since F1 in 2014 changed into F-mercedeshamilton-1 for me it was over! (I still want to thank them for that👍)
90minutenlangvooronzeclub , I have Bottas video too where he drives the current Mercedes with the hybrid V6. There is a huge difference in sound...V8 sounds more aggressive.
@@antoniocano9125 I just want to say V12 and V10 were great, V8-2.4 was not 100% my choice but it didn't hurt to watch. With the V6 turbo-thing i totally lost the love. Anyways, it's good to see that Frenkie is doing so well at Barca👍 (from AJAX fan)
They use the old cars because they’re not allowed by the FIA to make test runs in the current cars. This way they can’t gather any advantage in data collection to improve the car for race performance during the season. Sounds daft, but it makes sense - these teams will use any little bit of data to their advantage.

But it's not that reason because of advantage for developement or improvement, for demonstration purposes the main and most important thing is show and spectacle! And that's a thing the V6s just simply cannot provide. They need V8s V10s and V12s
