To the question of "How?" Practice. Insane, ridiculous, unbelievable amounts of practice. The opening snare soloist's name is Nick and I marched with him in 1991 and if you ever marched Drum Corps you know that drummers, especially snare drummers NEVER STOP. They drum everywhere, on everything, ALL THE TIME. After shows we would be waiting to load trucks and the snares would still be dueling in the lot. Freakish, Non-stop OCD practice. That is HOW"
@MelecityJones Well, people say if I were to play an instrument, it would be the drums. I appreciate this. I guess it makes sense. But I just love the whole show. I love brass instruments almost as much as my brother.
@trevorninja100 yeah that's what i meant... i didn't say you said they were 'horrable' i hust said that it is a show and that's what the show is about; being showoffs. otherwise they would just be a bunch of percussionists playing relatively simple rhythms on a stage.
@MelecityJones No I disagree with every instrument there has to be a groove. I play percussion and trumpet and there has to be a groove even a rhythm. Without the two you cant really have music. You dance when you play right, well thats the groove from playing. So yes groove is in every instrument especially in snare and drums themselves. They are the most important for the responsible groove.
@francobini I'm not saying they are horrable I saying that they are a bt showoff ish like the guy playing on his nose, I wouldn't change it or take it out of the show but I just naturely get the feeling that they are show offs like the blind folds
He just tries to impress the crowd with simple stick tricks and gimics. Don't get me wrong there is some complicated flam stuff in the beginning but I can do a Juggle Roll too. Most this stuff isn't that impressive it just looks cool which is why the crowd likes it. Its not clean.
Lancelot They’re some of the best instrumentalists in the country, probably the world. Would you expect them to be anything less than amazing? That’s why people pay to see them.
Time for another episode of “its 2:30 in the morning and I remembered something cool we watched in highschool”
same

I remember that well, I was in Mountain Magic in 1991, met Nick and Jeff. Great guys and amazing talent.
This and Officer Krupke were the only reason I bought the Blast VHS tape way back in the 90's. and still, man, no regrets...
Officer Krupke!!!
I remember going to a performance ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ so amazing!!!! Loved it and still do! So many great sounds and memories
the whole show is utterly amazing and it's been several years that it took place and I saw the integral over the TV channel Paris Première.
Nick Angeles and Jeff Queen... The GOATS.
Having played on the low brass line (aka the percussion's sound break) I know most of what he's doing, and it's amazing!
Never understood why they didn’t include this sequence on the official CD album!!
コンサート見に行った時はマジでトリハダ立ちまくりだった
There is a radio station sending around a video of the korean Drumcats. I've been posting Blast! To counteract them.
2nd soloist is Jeff queen playing his i and e solo from idk the year but he had two drums
It was either 1991 or 1992 I think, I could be wrong.
Do not accidentally put the volume at 100% while wearing earbuds 0_o
WHAT?!? I CAN'T HEAR YOU!
O jeez. Rip ur ears
Too late. 3 years too late
I realize that this is "just" a broadway show, but to not be standing on your feet and cheering your ass off after this is simply disgraceful.
un spectacle de folie que j'ai pu voir en intégralité il y a quelques années sur la chaine de Tv Paris Premiere.... MAGNIFIQUE !! EPOUSTOUFLANT !!!!
It's like Top Secret but clean.
We had a Drum Instructor when I was in Marching Band in High School Join the Show & we got to see him Live & It was Freakin’ PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!
This is the most AMAZING performance of ANYTHING I've ever witnessed!
Been watching this since my middle school years back in like 05
Saw them at epcot when i was in hs. So much notalgia here 😊
I wonder how many cymbals they inverted during a show.
Nick DeAngelis looks like Bill Ponderosa now, and Jeff Queen always reminded me of Cyclops lol Can probably still shred, though.
EXCELLENT stick work.. FAST and crisp!
@MelecityJones Well, people say if I were to play an instrument, it would be the drums. I appreciate this. I guess it makes sense. But I just love the whole show. I love brass instruments almost as much as my brother.
Drums is more than one instrument lol, so being a percussionist, you could play a great ordeal of instruments
Personally...I’ll always be one of the Guard girls! But my favorite was rehearsing with just percussion and pit and coming up with drills
The first video I ever saw on RUclips.
Excelente!! llevo años siguiendoos... y no me canso de ver el video!
YIKES! my heartrate has just increased 25%! !!! This was awesome!
I saw this entire show in '04 at Palace Theater in Cleveland. Looking back it was raw as fuck.
i agree with you :D i used to play in a marching band, i miss to much my snare drum, and i love this kind of music :D
I saw this at Indiana University. There music department started this program.
4:20 I’m just gonna put a flashing light warning here for everyone.
…Good lord, that literally looked even flashier than I remembered! 😵
They are in sync
Future orchestra concerts be like...
I always wondered how drummer boys fought during those wars...
PARABÉNS...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Were they rushing or were they dragging?
Seen them live! Love it!
6:54 on scared me so much, it sounded like a horror movie score...
I just watched this in class today lol
I always think the guy playing quints at 7:20 looks like a young Drew Carey.
my question is how do they not get carpel tunnel?
TØPtrash Joshlertrash proper technique
or a pulled hamstring!
Is this WGI on Broadway? This is genius.
Soooooooooooo awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hoy craap awesomnesss!!!
the drum must have been like HOLY BOB DOLE I JUST GOT PLAYYED
@trevorninja100 yeah that's what i meant... i didn't say you said they were 'horrable' i hust said that it is a show and that's what the show is about; being showoffs. otherwise they would just be a bunch of percussionists playing relatively simple rhythms on a stage.
素晴らしい。又日本に来て下さいね。
ARIGATO
4:31 I cried

even better if the quint players could do something like the snare. I played quints in band and those were fun to play with.
i saw them like 2 days ago and it was great!
No you saw them 7 years ago
Super cool we should do this!
Now THAT'S what I call Assault and Battery!

@trevorninja100 yes they're show offs... but that's why it's called a show...
Good god.... HOW?!
mind....blown :O
omg... 3:33 is.... ... WOW! :D
What do you mean by that?
Dang, almost makes be with I were a drummer instead of a trumpet player …almost ;-)
Very "Bridgemen-esque"
Would love to hear this till I couldn't breathe :D
@francobini I'm not saying they are horrable I saying that they are a bt showoff ish like the guy playing on his nose, I wouldn't change it or take it out of the show but I just naturely get the feeling that they are show offs like the blind folds
This is what goes on my ADHD brain 24/7

4:00 The third guy on the left drops his stick.
1 person claims he/she is not impressed
6:37 NOW KISSSSS!!!

I dont understand this
Yamaha. Ha.
No offence to anyone but it seems that most people who call themselves drummers can't even read music
hahahaha
jeff queen and nicks markais
@edaerer16 you obviously have no taste for percussion in any form or fashion.
I am not worthy to watch this.
Oh my god that quad solo at 7 minutes sucked
FUCK YOU
when ever I watch this only one thing comes to my mind..........yea it's cool and all but they are a bunch of show offs
Lancelot They’re some of the best instrumentalists in the country, probably the world. Would you expect them to be anything less than amazing? That’s why people pay to see them.
And I just saw that your comment is from 6 years ago haha. But still 🤷♀️ lol
