From the 3000 year old AZ firing the Ultimate Weapon in the Kalos War to the last remaining members of the Ancient Sinnoh People of Celestica; Cogita and Volo. There are few who have achieved eternal life and fewer who chose to be immortal. This is their story, of how they achieved such a gift and what they have been doing for thousands of years

I totally agree that Cogita and Volo are immortal just by looking into the game, it's just I didn't know how they got it.
It's obvious that Cogita wrote the Old Verses (by Old Verse 17), and these things were buried hundred years ago.
Also, Cogita did say to the player that you get to keep Enamorus for only a period of time. If you ask back, she will say "You are not immortal, you will die eventually".
It's very weird for someone to say that unless this person is actually immortal, meaning this woman knowingly telling you that she will outlive you, and eventually rejoin with Enamorus. This is also why Enamorus is not found in modern days because she's with her immortal pal Cogita.
For Volo, it is noticed that Volo has a very special fashion of Japanese text. And that kind of fashion of speaking is rare but seen before. Guess where?
That hiker in Sinjoh ruins. Some Japanese fans speculate that this hiker IS actually Volo because he worships Arceus and is with Cynthia in a ruins like this.
Why does he look like a hiker? I don't know if it's only me, but I feel like his Ginkgo merchant outfit somehow resembles a hiker's outfit.

      Spoilers for Scarlet and Violet!
Cynthia would have heard about Volo, because the story of legends Arceus is taught in the classes... Volo would 100% have made it into the history books if somebody as simple as Laventon did (Which he did)

But then what is the nature of Cynthia's relationship with Volo? Does she know about what he's been doing with Giratina? Him and her have almost the same pokémon team too! She is close with this guy!
He looks like her ancestor who has survived millenia by being in the distortion world... But if the rest of the Ancient Sinnoh people were wiped out apart from him and Cogita, why does Cynthia resemble them like she's their descendant? And no, I don't think she's also immortal... the way she described the Sinjoh ruins seemed like she had only assumptions about them until she got to see them for herself recently... Maybe there were a few Celestica people who had settled away from where the weapon struck and Cogita didn't know at the time of Legends Arceus that they had survived with some moving back and living in Celestic Town and the line lived on. Heck even Volo thought he was the last of them. But by the time of the HGSS games, he had come to know of Cynthia and her family and that the Celestica line lives on in Sinnoh. He mightve found out when Cynthia became champion and he realised she looked like the Celestica people and was from Celestic Town...
Maybe she has met Cogita as well but sides with Volo 😮 she was oddly comfortable in the distortion world too.
Also a dominating theory these days is that it was actually the crater in Paldea where the weapon had struck (not Celestica) which still has a lot of crystals as a result... But maybe that theory is incorrect and it was actually ancient Sinnoh that got hit... Then what of the crater in Paldea... Will just have to wait for the DLC (right around the corner)

Cogita isn't too far off whens he says "2 millennia ago."
Legends Arceus takes place at most, 500 years ago, and at least 200 years ago. The Great War took place around 3,000 years ago. So giving room for a couple hundred years of error, Legends Arceus takes place around 2000-2500 years after the Great War... Which can be summed up as just over two millennia.

    • @candyneige6609
      @candyneige6609 9 месяцев назад +3

Actually, Legends Arceus takes place at most, 500 years from now, and at least 50 years from now, and we know this because Legends Arceus actually takes place in the post-apocalyptic future, therefore, Legends Arceus actually takes place 3050-3500 years after the Great Kalos War, which can be summed up as just over three millennia, and is definitely a millennium short of the two millennia that she said, because what actually happened two millennia before the events of Legends Arceus, or 1500-1950 years ago, was that the ancient Celestica people arrived in Hisui, which back then, was known as Sinnoh, then the next people that arrived in Hisui, or Sinnoh as it was known back then, came from across the sea, possibly 150 years ago, they were the inhabitants of Hisui, or rather Sinnoh, in the present day, then an apocalypse eventually happened, and the survivors worshiped Dialga and Palkia as the "Almighty Sinnoh", whereas the region they were on, Sinnoh, got renamed to Hisui, which eventually leads to the events of Legends Arceus, 50-500 years from now, where just a few years prior, the possible successor to the Team Galactic criminal group, the Galaxy Expedition Team, which was composed of people coming from Alola and Galar, arrived in Hisui as the latest arrivals.

@@tristanalain9239 Have you not even noticed about the time travel thing ? Because its involvement changes everything.
We know that Rei/Akari is from a different time period, specifically the early 21st century, and this is important because it leads to the final confrontation against Volo and his Giratina, as Rei/Akari battled and eventually defeated them both, preventing the bad future from happening, however, the aftermath of the battle and timeline alteration ultimately determines the final timeline placement of Legends Arceus, because if Legends Arceus really took place in the past, then it would mean that Rei/Akari is from the bad future, and as such, he/she would start to slowly disappear into nothingness after defeating Volo and preventing the bad future from happening because he/she had inadvertently created a grandfather paradox, however, the fact that Rei/Akari doesn't disappear after defeating Volo means that Rei/Akari isn't from the bad future, and therefore Legends Arceus cannot take place in the past, which means that Rei/Akari is instead from the past, meaning that Legends Arceus does indeed take place in the post-apocalyptic future.
Also, Poké Balls weren't invented until 1925, which was way after the Edo Period and even after the Meiji Period, in fact, it was near the end of the Taishō Period which ended the following year in 1926.

      @candyneige6609 5 дней назад

@@tristanalain9239 The way how time travel works in Pokémon makes bootstrap paradoxes, and therefore becoming your own grandfather, impossible.
What all this means is that the main/player character cannot be their own grandparent/ancestor, but must instead come from the past, which means that Legends Arceus still cannot take place in the past and must indeed take place in the post-apocalyptic future.

although they are very cool theories (especially that of Cogita), I have to correct you on that of Volo, we know that the 10 Pokemon were affected by Giratina, there is the Zap Plate says both in the English version and especially the Japanese version, not only , the old verse 10 in Japanese makes a very complex writing game which I will try to explain briefly: in a nutshell, "the ineffable" (as called by the poem) is written the same way as Arceus is called in Japanese, only with different characters, so the poem ten points out the moment where Arceus, probably intrigued by the hero who had managed to appease 10 Pokemon angered by Giratina, challenges the hero with his companions and losing two events: Arceus recognizes the value of human beings, an element never before considered by his design and the people of the ancient people of Sinnoh know a God and is in that moment "the ineffable" is no longer a way to define a possible being who has thrown or lightning, but it becomes the Almighty Sinnoh (which should be different in Japanese and somehow relate to the word ineffable). in my opinion Volo is only one who is convinced that he is special because his ancestors (especially the hero) were very special and he is exploited by Giratina for this

Based on your description of Volo's actions, he wouldn't actually be immortal. He just enters a place where time stands still and exits once the outside world has moved on. But he himself doesn't have the effect of that world. Literally anyone could enter that realm and experience the same effect. Once he leaves the realm, he's back to being a standard mortal. He'd have to go back to utilize the benefits again.

In pokemon X and Y we see Xerneas and Yveltal respectively reawaken from their dormant states. There power was drained by the ultimate weapon. So shouldn't they be weaker than they are? If you go into a coma, you're gonna have to go through a lot of stuff the regain proper function. So what if the forms we see in the games are not the true forms of the X and Y legends? Gen 6 loved giving pokemon forms, from the introduction of Mega Evolution to the primal forms of Groudon and Kyogre. Another pokemon with a different form is Floette, with its eternal flower form. Xerneas and Yveltal have next to nothing important about them. So the idea of giving them new forms, based off of some sort of power that they couldn't access before would be appealing to fans.
One way they could do this is:(post game)you have to have Zygarde in your party. You learn of a new area in pokemin village through Wulfric, or a new area on the route with the Scary House. You go check it out and there you see Xerneas/ Yveltal in a sort of awakened form. As you interact with it, it vanishes and you follow it to the pokeball factory(Xerneas) or santalune forest(Yveltal). The reason for this could be that they are scared of Zygarde and they tried to hide in areas that they are not in any way associated with. The pokeball factory is very mechanical and not natural. Santalune forest is teeming with life. Any way, you Chase them over the region, following the dialogue of NPCs. After interacting with it 5 times in different locations, you can encounter it and battle it.
OR(pre-league) once you awaken it, you don't battle it. Lysandre comes in right before you do. You beat him and his Mega Gyarados. He gets angry, throws his Mega ring to the ground and runs away. Then, the legendary eats the Keystone from the Mega Ring. Then it transforms due to the power of a Keystone.

Just because she's immortal does not mean she can''t forget things-
When you don't see people for a while, you forget things about them.

AZ, Cogita and Volo are perhaps not immortal but just have a extended life. Also the real question is what makes you an immortal, the ability not to die even if things vital to a mortals survival like organs are taken or destroyed but you still live because of being imortal. Or is being immortal just that your flesh shall not rot away in the passing of time. It all comes down to what you consider an immortal.

If Volo and Cogita are immortal and their both the ancestors of Cynthia there could be a chance she could meet them. now that's an interesting thought (doubt it'll happen but interesting none the less)

What if Cogita never became immortal, but that she's instead a time traveler, one way or another, that could explain why she apparently survived, not one, but two apocalypses, the second one being of course the apocalypse that happened sometime between the events of Scarlet & Violet and those of Legends Arceus, because Legends Arceus actually takes place in the post-apocalyptic future, a few centuries after the events of Scarlet & Violet, well either that, or she's neither of them, and that she was simply interested in the history of pre-apocalyptic Hisui, formerly known as Sinnoh, and that she wanted to preserve that pre-apocalyptic history as much as possible, but either way, Legends Arceus takes place in the post-apocalyptic future.

Interesting theory but I don’t think Legends Arceus is even part of the Mega timeline. It’s basically confirmed the protag of the game is the one form DPPt, and we have no DPPt game in the mega timeline.
So legends Arceus would be part of the non mega timeline, where like Zinnia stated, there was never a war and the super weapon was never fired. AZ died naturally, and mega evolution was never discovered.

Woah! This gave me shivers! I love creepy or strange Pokémon theories! People who think that Pokémon is a "childish kids-game" should watch this, and play Legends: Arceus. Great job! This was truly mindblowing!

Your theory defintitly sounds about right but in another thing about the old verses from LAcould be that the ancient Sinnoh people probably just scattered across the pokeearth to start there own settlements.
Then again the anceint sinnoh people probably already scattered and settled across the globe before az fired the ultimate weapon and the remaining ancient people of sinnoh aka Celestica probably was hit.

Aside from the grey hair, I can't really tell that Cogita's ageing. Heck, I assumed the grey hair was just her natural hair colour like Karen's. No wonder Cynthia's so hot! She had an ancestor who lived for hundreds of years and still managed to look gorgeous!

i think Ash Ketchum is one of them cuz when he starded on his journey and he saw Ho-Oh and Ho-Oh is known for making wishes into reality and Ash wished his journey would never end and ho-oh made that into reality because he has died and come back to life several times and he always stayed young and his knowledge of the other type
and there weaknesses confuses all the types cause he's still a kid that's why i think Ho-Oh cursed Ash with immortality and ash still think it's good but i guess Ash hasn't figured it out yet. and i think the same of what you said, nice
    research :)

  • @alysshart7522

Cogita being immortal (or, at least, having a magically extended lifespan) makes sense with her combination of young facial features and white hair. I still think Volo is a time traveler, though-like, he time traveled to the Legends: Arceus time period from the VERY distant past.
