While the game overall isn't particularly great, the post-bad ending main menu goes hard. Reminds me of Spec Ops: The Line, where things would get progressively worse on the main menu as you played.
If this game had a lore, then i think that you are playing against someone (not the arsonite who made you play) who you saw in the tower got into the same situation as you. - If you win, presumably the person you beat didnt accept the offer since that tower you saw got burnt down. - If you lose, the person leaves and you make the decision to accept the offer.
