I'm so glad that I came across your video. I will be traveling with a group from the US next summer, and this is our venue for the Masai Mara portion of our trip. That is awesome that there are hippos right outside in the river! Thanks for the super detailed video on the Camp. I have no idea at this point if I'll have a tent or a room, but the place itself looks great. Happy travels!
Thanks for the view! We really enjoyed our time at the Fig Tree Camp! If you end up with the tent, make sure to always zip it closed. There are monkeys everywhere 😅
There are definitely wild animals that walk through the camp. Monkeys, hyenas, genet. There was a nile crocodile in the river after the hippo footage. I didn't realize that the camps only have electricity for certain times of day and run off of a generator. It makes sense though!
The safari drives were amazing! There were times when we were all alone for hours, but then if there was any serious animal action, all of the jeeps converged on the same area. Keep a lookout for episode 10 of our travel vlogs, and you will see all of our safari experience! Also, the drivers were all great, and if you wanted to see something in particular, you could ask them and they would try to find it for you.
Hi, Thank you for sharing the absolutely fantastic video! I live in Jacksonville, FL and am considering booking this Lodge for my 2025 trip. Can you please tell me what was included with the cost of your room? What were you charged extra for? specifically were all meals? laundry? game drives? water? alcohol? sodas? Thank you so much!
Hello! Our trip was organized with a group tour, but my understanding of the lodge offerings is that all meals are included, as well as morning and evening game drives. Purified water was supplied in your room, as well. The food buffet was huge and the food was great. Sodas and alcohol were additional. There is a shot of the drink menu around the 16:35 time stamp in the video. I am not sure if they offer laundry service, but if they did it would likely be extra. They offer additional bookings like massages and hot air balloon rides, as well. You can inquire about these services at the front desk. The rooms were very large and comfortable, and the staff was great!
