People said 20mins is too Loooong... so I've split it up this week into 2 parts! Part 2... Out Later!! Stay tuned... or should I put it out now? :) Let me know
Thanks for mentioning the windows on the wings! And also loved Paul's 3 day windsurfing trip. Too good. The channel keeps the amp alive as the winds become more irregular here.
Love the surf wagons. The Gorge used to be full of them, and we called them “Gorgemobiles”. They were awesome in the July 4th parade and other local events!
Yep, I’m on my 2nd season back into windsurfing and got the helmet/impact vest and it’s already saved me some pain & kept me on the water so highly recommend. Looking forward to 360’s, on my list to learn this year after heli tach/chop hop and carve gybe. Watch out for those wing foilers they are everywhere these days, need eyes in the back of your head at Hayling.
🔥Marc Pare, beautiful goiter at 5:49 🔥Table top back loop, Wasabi! Yes, more please!!! 🔥Looking forward to the gu-screw/360 instructional; Mike Campbell's video last week was excellent. 🔥Thanks again for the wave 360 comp video with you, Pons, and Pare last year. Please do more videos like last year's Pozo comp series again this year!
As a winger I would say the biggest Danger on the water are still the Kiters...we are right now in El Medano and wow what a bad level they have . So Helmet on and stay upwind as far as possible;) . And Windsurfer not a problem at all because they are predictable and mostly know the rules .
So right Ben - I recommend everyone have a basic understanding of starboard tack and rights. Second you are so right make your move well ahead and be deliberate in the action. Was taught this early on when using the motor boat at speed. Lets other water users know your intentions. Re Norway reckon the windsurfer should have been looking over his shoulder as well, and anticipate the wingers movement. I yell a lot when a wing is upwind as they have a terrible blind spot.
As a windsurfer turned winger, we have so much flexibility in direction, it's easy to give wide right away to windsurfers or kiters who are often punching upwind. But beware of the blind spot, just like driving, hanging out/slowly overtaking in someone's blind spot is an accident waiting to happen.
I practice both windsurfing and kitesurfing. I haven’t started winging. Yet. I think the message is : be mindful of your surroundings. All 360 degrees. Give yourself enough room for an “emergency exit”. And learn which tack has priority. Starboard (not just a brand of boards), port…anyone? I’ve travelled quite a bit for windsurf and kite, and everywhere I went, I’ve seen epic crashes. Most of them could’ve been avoided. Vacations cut short because of injuries, expensive gear broken…what a waste. Just chillax and enjoy 🤙
I'm Ricard who was surfing the board and chrash a wing foil, we had a discussion about who was to blame for the incident, I decided to myself that the next time I see him twisting in front of me, I'd better turn around and surf back.
I was windsurfing....following my cousin who was winging..... I was so mesmerized by his riding I didn't realise he was about to jibe....he didn't see me and I was way to close..... I can still see his face as he crashed! He was ok but I still apologise to this day!
@@postiebren in our case, Torkild saw me all the time with fig soil and he knew that I was filming, so he washed me, but everything ended without any injuries to injury, in this video you can see full surf ruclips.net/video/88IQ3yI4D6M/видео.html
Thinking I am going to lean back watch some chill windsurfing clips... 14 sec into the video seeing some dude getting decapitated by a foil - did not see that coming lol
Hi Ben, I really like Send it Sunday, but it is slowly turning from "funniest surfing home video's" into a safety lecture / windsurf news show. I liked it more when the crashes were the main subject where we could have a good laugh or an occasional "ooooooffff" moment while not thinking too much about how it could have been prevented. The power of Send it Sunday used the be that it didn't take itself too seriously. Although still a great show, try to keep the fun in it!
Well yes but it’s difficult when you have guys being paralyzed from catapulting.. and I’m every week laughing at it! Also to be honest I’m not getting sent too much crazy windsurfing stuff at the moment… I think maybe conditions haven’t been so good this year.
@@WindsurfingTV Ok, Fair point. Lack of people SENDING IT might be difficult for a show like this. And don't get me wrong, I appreciate the effort and energy you put into this channel. Guess I'll take out the action cam a little more. See what happens...
I think we have reached the time in the sport where you just should probably just wear a helmet on a crowded spot. Especially with wingers/kiters/foilers/windsurfers sharing the water. I always wear a helmet now except when wave sailing.
love Paul van Bellen, followed him for a year, lovely guy, good fun video's, great windsurfer, very skilled, west coast Australia, top spot, Geraldton, Coronation Beach. That typical Aussies accent, love it Love his video with Rich Myers, a year ago, 1.5hr nice interview at his home, what a guy that is, Rich! ruclips.net/video/tTouVodrliA/видео.html
I would say they both are, why the other guy just turned in to his way 180 for no reason, even if he did not jump it would be dangerous to get in his way .
Man, we already had to avoid the bloody kiters, but now it’s even worse with all these “…….”wingers, the fad it’s going full on unfortunately now and I can only see it getting worse, where are those days where windsurfers only complained about moron on fast boats, jetsky and the likes uh? Not disrespect intended for other watersport fellas but heck they really need to watch out more, much more 😬🤙🏻💙
I hope they will impose restrictions on wing foils everywhere I go. E.g. Mauritius, Cape Town. Already to crowed and to much cowboy style guys out there. It is already terrible with the kiters. But wingers are much worse.
I have been warning about this since they (wingfoils) appeared. Its going to happend more and more. We are going to see many people crashing in the water. 3 weeks ago i was with my slalom board in Arinaga, heading back to shore, one wing sailing before me, more than 30m in front, i was trying to stay upwind and away from him. Suddenly he did a proper NO Look Kiter gybe. You know, that one that the ones with 22m lines and all crear view around them, dont make use of it and just gybe suddenly without looking at all. Well, the guy on the wing just gybe upwind and place himself perfectly in my way...and crashed. I had to go very hard upwind to avoid it but passed him very close. No harm done but he started to shout at me!!! 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️. So now appart from the line cutter im going to think about what else i have to carry in my harness.

Put it out now Ben! Cant wait so see it man!😂🎉
Highly appreciated either way :) Part 1 for the weekend and Part 2 in between weekends would be nice
Be it now or later, best cliffhanger .. will not miss it. 😅
Short attention spans! 🤣 Appreciate anyway you do the vids.....😀
They should be told that watching it all in one go isn’t compulsory 😅
Thanks for shout outs Benny yew!
No worries fella.. just waiting for the game to mainstream! I think you need to add more obstacles. Wings, Foils, Sharks.. kiters.. more points!! :)
@@WindsurfingTV Definitely tripple the points for kiters😂
@@WindsurfingTV hehe

Rough time of year. I haven't sailed since November but looking forward to Summer 2023. Thanks for keeping my spirits high.
OMG those wingers! loving the energy Ben, keep it up!!!

Wing foilers are the new enemy of windsurfing. They use totally different lines that we do. They are more unpredictable that kites.
Fantastic to seethe speed sailing!

The Cannonball ! Continues Hahaa
Always look around you, especially when you make a move!!
Great stuff as always Ben 🤟
Waaaaay to short!😂😂 do you know the feeling when the other sailor also decides to change course upwind to not lose course😵💫
It’s so easy. Just look over your bloody shoulder!

Van Tour of Amado's Appreciated ❤
I am surprised the people are not told about the right of way. I have seen this in so many spots its hard to comprehend.
foils are bloody dangerous either in or out the water.
So true. You cant hear the foil at all. It's pretty amazing but can be pretty dangerous.
02:32 flawless technique
thanks
I got all the gear on at all times but hell those guys completely unpredictable -the only way is to just keep as far as possible from them.

Yes! Doesn’t matter what kind the sport you doing, please look around, because some the other may not look, just incase…..
Wingers have no idéa what's going on around them, they're like kiters only looks in one direction! It's up to us to stay clear with a big margin!
😃20min is perfect🙃
Noooooo Lets have it NOW 😁
Aughh the suspense! 😬
Well, lot of foilers are complaining of their whistling foil... I prefer mine to be loud.
I think we have reached the time in the sport where you just should probably just wear a helmet on a crowded spot. Especially with wingers/kiters/foilers/windsurfers sharing the water. I always wear a helmet now except when wave sailing.
Share Waves should be rule number 1 The second one should keep a proper distance
20 min is preferable Ben. I can pause myself if needed (won’t happen I think)

Simple rule.
If you jump and land on someone, you are at fault.

Pretty sure the guy who jibed is to blame, no? you always have to check behind before a jibe

Just wear a helmet when you're near idiots, which is most of the time.
You can't make a video with a Gopro anymore it's over.
