I really appreciate you sharing all of your knowledge. You definitely shed light on the inner workings of being a co angler. If you're ever in Florida lmk. I would love to be your co angler.
This was my first year as a co-angler in FLW BFL Gator division what a ride it was, but I manage to finish in 27th place. So on to regionals at lake Lanier.
Awesome video!! After watching your videos, I decided to try being a co-angler in the BFL. I was able to get with a few pros in my area and fished two tournaments this year! I had a great time with my pros on the water. I will continue to fish as a co-angler. Also, I appreciate your advice on this topic! Thanks!!
Somebody has been watching the Hodge twins 😂😂😂😂 I can tell you this much, I haven’t made it as far as I wanted to this year but as far as my club I joined this year, I have not only caught fish behind a great stick this year but I have had a lot of fun with what I learned from you, thank you Lou, I’m already excited about next season and this one isn’t even over yet !!!
Look I know you Lou, lol. That Hodge twins intro was pretty good!! Were on the same page. You got some pretty funny stuff every now and then but you always have good content. Keep it coming buddy!!
Bass Nation is another great start for guys/girls looking to get events. They are general cheaper B.A.S.S. events to get started in. Greta video. We need a video on that bag.
Yeah, I have a lot of questions.... what kind of equipment would I need, or at least the boater expect me to have? Do you get assigned and talk ahead of time, or do you have to find a boater willing to take you on? If you do well, can you stick with the boater you were assigned to for future events? What is fair to pay the boater? Is the prize money, if won, split? If so, is it split evenly? I realize there are a lot of questions here, so perhaps a video on "responsibilities of a co-angler" other than just how to sign up. Thanks! Always enjoy your videos!
With the pay question I'm pretty sure boaters fish against boaters and co anglers fish against co anglers so if you win you win. If your boater wins he wins. I'm pretty sure that's how it goes
I love these questions, because I had similar questions. I come from an area of Texas that is dominated by saltwater fishing but I’ve been bass fishing out of my own boat with a local bass club and I really enjoy it. However wanting to step up my game and step out of my comfort zone and try something different, I’m considering fishing as a coangler. I guess my fear for lack of a better word is not having any experience as a co-angler and doing it once just for the experience to see if it’s worth it. I feel like it would be smart to tell your boater that you are a brand new noob never fished that level of tournament from the back of the boat and hope for the best? Lol Thanks for all the informational videos you’ve put out about this, it’s really appreciated.
I am looking at doing the BFL Shenandoah division as a Co. If you wouldn’t mind putting forward some input on that I would greatly appreciate what you have to say. Thanks buddy... by the way, you need a little more work on that Hodge Twins intro but your close 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for the video. It's good to hear about this stuff just in case I'm ever interested in trying something like that. One thing I'm not clear on is what the difference is between opens and trail series and how they all correlate to different events in qualifying Etc. Take care. Also, what happens if there's more boaters than co-anglers or vice versa?
@@BeyondTheBoundsOutdoors Thanks for the reply. I was reading that some places will let you bank fish as well. I signed up for my first ABA tournament as a co-angler for this weekend thanks in part to your vid so thanks for giving me the idea. I hope there are enough boaters!
Thanks for another HELPFUL video... EVERYONE take a COUPLE MINUTES and CLICK a COUPLE BUTTONS and HELP this MAN LIKE HE HELPS US!! Its that EASY... Thanks yall BE SAFE out there... DON"T BACK UP, DON"T BACK DOWN
You be a good person and help them out or at the very least just deal with it. But if you kill their spirit by being a less-than-accomodating individual, then you shouldn't be in the sport at all.
Hey not to be rude at all because I love your vids but your mic in the beginning was way to close and it kinda sucks I’m not tryna be rude. This video really helped me btw so thanks alot

Ha, thank you my friend! That is called hitting the nail on the head. I am one step ahead of you but your info reaffirmed the direction I am headed. 👍
Good info man. You can learn a lot being a co that's for sure.
good video, in my first tournament as a Co-Angler tomorrow
Hey Lou, it’s $475 for the co-angler in the BASS Opens. I’m signed up for the first Northern Open on the James River in mid May.
Thanks bud never knew
Thanks for sharing where to register. Looking to start co-angling this upcoming year. Your videos have been incredibly helpful, so thanks.

@@Mass_bigbaits yes primarily in most events you aren't fishing against any boaters as a co angler. Except for the local ABA draw trail events
@@BeyondTheBoundsOutdoors Ah. I thought it was a team. On a lot of tourney vids, they look like they share fish. Thanks!

What if you register as a co-angler and there are not enough boaters?
You don't get to fish. But get your money back.
