@@singha__ yes, but I also expanded by palate. Often those 2 things go hand and hand so uprading the hardware coupled with some myofunctional therapy was a game changer
Thank you for sharing this video and for your incredibly detailed response. I submitted my health history and two cone beam scans to his office. I have had the pre clinical appointment with the case manager and the Zoom appointment with Dr. Zaghi already. I will have my appointment with the myofunctional therapist doctor in a few days. I may need surgical work with Dr. Zaghi if I do not improve with doing the exercises recommended to me after two months. (I will have another Zoom consultation with him in two months to discuss ehat progress I have made, if any.) I am incredibly nervous about possibly needing this surgery, so I appreciate someone else sharing their journey. Your progress is amazing. What else have you noticed since that time?
For sure. It was super easy and you're in and out in 15 mins tops. You don't even feel anything. It's really pretty easy. I have had many surgeries and I wouldn't even call this surgery because it's quick and painless. You're in good hands!
I wouldn't even call this surgery. It's literally super simple and easy. I just breathe a ton better and the more tongue you have available the easier it is to breathe. Well worth it.
Did you have your cone beam scans from a dental office ? Does this mean we can submit our own images to Dr Zhagi as part of the consultation and save the cost of the cone beam if we have our own? I inquired about the surgery fee and while it’s not outrageous , the thing that’s going to hinder me from actually going forward with it assuming I am a good candidate, are the myofunctional fees before and after . Makes me sad because I really wish I could do this but the therapy costs on top of the surgery itself , I just cannot manage unless I put it all on credit and just make minimum payments for who knows how long.
Outside of the cost of surgery itself , how much has the myofunctional costs been? While I’m lucky enough to live in Orange County , the therapy costs before and after is probably what will stop me from being able to pull this off cost wise.
You can find good people online and it really depends if you're good about doing the work on your own and if you do 30 min vs hour sessions. Sessions ranged from $75-150 depending on length. Just make sure you get enough good stuff and do it for about 2 months prior to create stickiness for keeping the new length once it's released.
Hi craig! How was your recovery after the surgery? I have a level 3 and my dentist is suggesting a small back and front release. Just a bit worried about the tongue afterwards and the healing..did you go through any complications?
Zero complications. I went home that same night and ate normal food. It was awesome and it really helped changed the way I breathe due to way better leverage of the tongue.

For sure. It is one of the most important components to support the head.

Curious why the stitches? I have seen several with laser and they don’t stitch.
Maybe because I wasn't a local patient. I would ask Dr. Z.

What was the cost for this procedure ? 😊
$1495 but not sure if that is the regular price since I had done an online consult prior to flying out!

Hi Grieg , Had u difficult pronouncing spanish R or rolling R’s before tie releasing?
My tongue never worked well prior to this and now I have way better control.
Will my speech become better after tongue tie laser ????
You should have more range of motion but you won't know about your speech until you do it and see! Best of luck!
Does this operation remove the little bit of sag behind your chin
No this only frees up the mobility of the tongue!
My help you
