Just some context about One Piece. Both the original manga and the anime adaptation started in the 90s (97 and 99 respectively) and still ongoing with weekly chapters/episodes being released, and as just any fan will tell there are not enough of it. Also the manga is the second most sold comic book in the world, only behind Superman (so yes, it did sold more than Batman and Spider-man) which is why all they had to do is to not suck to have a good audience. Also the story can go dark and emotional but in the end is about dreams and freedom so I hope you enjoy your journey

@@NyanNyan-gs3ihI think the miss conception comes from Luffy being able to deflect bullets. Most people wouldn’t consider a bullet as blunt but piercing, so Luffy being invulnerable to those gives the impression he would survive much more things that what he is actually able to.

My favorite thing about someone's first reaction to the One Piece world is the immediate confusion over how some characters are wearing modern shoes/clothes or old timey pirate clothing, having advanced steel battleships but using snails for phones, some places have torches and candles for light while others have full on modern electricity, etc... The worldbuilding of One Piece is VAST and kinda insane.
Not a spoiler at all but, his entire body is made of rubber, so everything that could damage a ruber band could hurt luffy like anything sharp, fire, or if you stretch it too far, the only reason bullets don't work is because they are old time round bullets without a sharp end

One Piece was a comic (manga) first and the anime is an adaptation too. Not sure why you have #pixar and #Dreamworks as a tag since they aren’t involved. My name's Guybrush Threepwood, I want to be a pirate!" He later introduces himself as "Guybrush Threepwood mighty pirate", the first game came out in 1990, and the first One Piece comic came out in 1997.
One piece is amazing storytelling is been for 25 years the creador ODA is really amazing writer to keep us for all those years reading the manga and watching the Anime. Luffy is a kid with a dream he is only 17 years old now and decided to fullfil his dream becoming King of the Pirates. You saw Buggy the Clown 🤡 Captain Buggy is my Favorite character from one piece. Also the Snail phone o snail transponder are called Den Den Mushi in one piece world they are the communication systems they can communicate telepathically by voice with other Den Den Mushi the can be use as Cameras aldo alarms they have the ability to copy and resemble the face and accessories of anyone they talk through them is funny because the also copy the mannerism of the owners enjoy the one piece world 👍

Its my no. 1 anime because its light humor but deep at the same time, and a satire to the whole hero journey inside the anime genre in general or the thing with bad guys and their monologues. ^^ The same author that created One-Punch Man, aka. "ONE" also wrote Mob Psycho 100, which is also very good. Another very good (deep) anime is Parasyte: The Maxim. (U will see why.)

It is not a period piece. Styles and scientific capabilities vary greatly. Just accept what is there, you will find it is consistant. For instance in the bar which is quite rustic there is a neon sign

What is even being achieved by adding it. - You're swiveling your head to the camera or someone off screen super often causing you to miss out on iconic scenes and dialogue. The best solution would be to reduce the gap between monitor and camera or just reduce the amount of direct camera stare downs.
Alvida in the live action is a little too attractive. In the manga/anime she is a grotesque toad woman who makes her crew tell her she is the most beautiful. The ship design is suppose to be ironic. The t-shirts you will learn is very intentional. One piece is not a period piece. It is it’s own world and will have costume designs from all of human history. Almost as if to suggest the same tales of freedom vs oppression ring through time. Over and over. And as the ages turn, inherited will reassures the cycles rebirth.

About a costumes, most of those are actually actually based from the source material. So expect that the costumes are from all periods of time.
