Hello. I am 19 and I too started getting grey hair at an early age. My Friends would point and laugh at me and over the years it made me feel so insecure. I wouldn't go out without a cap or just cover my face because it makes me feel ugly. I would color it sometimes but it would just grow back up. I am trying to accept myself with it but it's hard. I feel like no one's gonna want me if I have grey hair. Thanks for sharing your story, now I know that I am not the only one . I just need to toughen up and accept this unique trait

I know it can be difficult to look different than the people around you, especially with grey hair as a young person. I don't think you need to toughen up, but I do think your friends need to stop making you feel crap over it. Continue to colour your hair if that makes you feel confident, and go natural if you feel like it. Your hair is part of you and it's beautiful, whether grey or dyed ❤

I would get teased by my cousins and friends to the point I didn't want to go out, I am noticing that alot of younger people are going grey it's getting very common, I find it embarrassing to buy just for men, I went to boots and I saw young people early twenties and younger buying hair dye, we are not seeing it because people are secretly dying there hair so you are definitely not alone, more people than you realise, the world is making people go prematurely grey, could be the environment that's causing it so stand up proud it's normal and my mum says age has nothing to do with it.

Let me just say that this is the first time I watch a video on this subject. I'll be 18 in a few months and I started showing the first signs of my mother's side of the family's early graying hair over the last year. I never felt annoyed at the fact that I would be going gray (since I knew from an early age it was a very real possibility), but it most certainly feels good to see someone talk so proudly about their gray hair! I find it funny how my sideburns are the first thing that is turning gray, making me look a bit like Uncle Scrooge (for whatever reason, I've always had an abnormal amount of hair growing there, so it definitely makes sense that they would be the most noticeable part). I keep my hair pretty short and a little wavy, so I'm definitely wondering how it will look in gray. TL;DR thanks for the confidence you showed in this video! Your hair looks amazing and I hope mine turns out nicely too!

I've grey hair since i was 13. Since then my friends from school called me "grandpa/old man", yeah it's hard. One time when i go to school riding my bike, i was laughed by bunch of kids, and that time i was very sad, why people doing this to me?
My confidence in school at that time is very bad, i don't know maybe because of that i haven't had a girlfriend back then.
I always insecure if people looking at me in public place.
Along the time i got more confidence. When you're older you're more accepting yourself. You don't give a f*ck what people say. Just embrace it
Back then i always keep my hair short to keep grey hair less visible. But right now i started growing my hair, even though my gray hair become more visible.
Just embrace it. It's unique, people are easier to remember you. Don't let people bring you down

Your video is like a warm hug I didn't know I needed🥲..I had noticed my gray hairs around 13 too..I had been very insecure since then and it ruined my confidence. I got to the point where I damaged all of my hair due to continuous dying for almost 8 years and decided to stop if I don't want to go bald.It was hard at first since I usually died my hair black or very dark brown and wear caps all the time but after a year people often ask me where and how I did my hair so they can do it too and I often confused the elders who couldn't believe it's my natural hair that made me happy and I am starting to appreciate my uniqueness but it's still hard sometimes. Then I found your video which gives me so much confidence only people like us would understand..thank you so much for sharing 💖

  • @nnnnn1610
    @nnnnn1610 3 года назад +3

I like that you never dyed it.. I guess I appreciate that as I dyed my hair at 15 and just never stopped! I've been all the basic colours, never any fashion colours, maybe copper or red but those never lasted..
Now my hair is grey on top and wiry, I still have my 'old hair' underneath, a reminder of the pretty dark brown hair I've not seen in all these years! I have to say I wish that I appreciated it more, rather than getting rid of it the first chance I got!
Of course as I'm getting older I realise the top is completely white, but I've never seen it come in, only noticing my roots changing over time.. And feeling like I'm now locked in dying it!
You have lovely hair. My parter used to pluck my greys out, but over time he began saying there's just too many.. And then began the need for dying it every month, as apposed to it being fun, it was now a necessity.. Now I'm over it, it's almost a two weekly dye thing or else it looks like I'm balding, or like my hair is floating off my head!
Ty for the video, it's nice to hear about other peoples history. And yes I agree on the greasy thing! My greys on top aren't too bad, but underneath, behind my ears they're like massive grey pubes! I mean what's with the texture.. Looks great alongside my brown poker straight hair... I've also noticed it goes very frizzy with humidity, never had that before Lol the joys.

I am 15 years old now. And I was 8 years old when I found out that I have gray hair... At first it slowly spreading but then when I was 13 I observed that the spreading of my Grey hair was fast. My classmate and acquaintances always tell me that I am grandmother and always call me "Lola" (grandmother in Tagalog language). At first I want to dye my hair because of the embarrassing things I receive about that but then I realize. Even though I dye it, the Grey hair will be back again. So I decided just leave, accept and appreciate that Gray hair in my head.

I also started getting grey hair in my teens. I also had very dark brown hair. I have always colored my hair. I am currently 40 and have thought about going grey, but I don't like the texture of my salt and pepper hair. I envy your attitude toward your grey hair. Thanks for making this video and sharing your story with us.

I have found a few white hairs. I am 21 and have anxiety and depression issues plus my mom has grey hairs since she was like 5 lol. My dad is just now having the salt and pepper hair and he is in his mid 50’s. I do find the white hair super beautiful and when I’d see a few it looks so pretty to me. I have dark hair and I just get scared because I love my dark hair and am worried to lose it early , but at the same time I’ve only found a few strands and I don’t think I’d mind a few strands, your hair is so pretty though and it just gives you such a cool look. I work at Sally’s and a women used a semi permanent color in red . She had about the same amount of gray as you and it left her with beautiful super tiny strands of red hairs within the rest of the dark hair . It looked so pretty! I thought she somehow managed to individually bleach those pieces but she said she just has the gray hair :) . I’m so tired so this comment probably doesn’t make a lot of sense. To those who are graying, it looks absolutely beautiful and you shouldn’t be ashamed or anything like that. ❤️

I died my hair for 3 years but last summer I decided to go natural. I've been loving it and it's so cool to see someone who's older than me and is already much further in her hair journey. I love your hair! And ugh it's annoying when people make certain comments regarding how they want you to look (unasked for). It's your hair so it's totally up to you. My partner is the same age as me (34) and he's been going grey for some time now, since I think in his earlier twenties. He has long black hair with strands of white hairs. His beard is going white too in places. I have long dark-brown hair and don't plan to ever dye it. I can totally understand people dying their hair because they want a great colour like blue or green but people dying their hair to cover up the grey.. that's something I don't quite get personally.
But then that might just be me. I have partial faceblindness and recognise people mostly by their hair. So when people change their hair a lot by ie. dying it to remove the grey that's slowly been increasing for years, or if they cut it all off, that confuses me as I find it harder to recognise them (that said, remembering 'someone with an unusual hair colour that changes every once in a while to a new funky hair colour' is okay to remember if the length and style of the hair stays the same otherwise).
I loved hearing about your experiences with going grey. I think your long silvery / dark-brown hair looks beautiful. I too believe in aging naturally. I'm short and despite having some bits of wrinkles, I sometimes still get asked to show my ID when I'm trying to buy a bottle of alcohol for my family (for myself I don't drink alcohol). Being in my thirties.. this can get tiresome. I carry an ID so that's not the point.. but sometimes I feel like it's kind of discrimination that as a 34-year-old I have to show my ID whereas the tall teenage boys can buy alcohol and don't get asked their ID. And yet I don't feel like I look like a teenager anymore or anything. Clearly somehow their faces are much more trustworthy than mine.. Anyway. Great video! I loved hearing how this experience has been for you.

I started going gray at 15 but it was a very slow roll, nothing like yours. I think your hair is freakin awesome! It’s gorgeous. I’m 55 now and letting the gray grow in for the second time and one thing I loved about having gray hair was using temp or semi-permanent color. I loved having lavender hair more than I ever imagined and I love love love just not having to dye it every few weeks or feeling awful about how I look when I just don’t have the time to do it because I’m working long hours. There might be sadness for some but it’s so nice being free.

Thanks for a video a little bit outside of your usual realm. Your hair is beautiful!
I also started going gray in my teens, I think I found my first one at 15. Mine isn't quite as gray as yours yet, but now at 32 it's definitely noticeable immediately, since I have almost black hair otherwise.
I also used to get quite a lot of comments on it, mainly from men, who always acted as if they were revealing something to me that I hadn't noticed myself and doing me a favour in letting me know, so I could do something about it 😂
Just like yours the gray hairs have a different texture which can sometimes be annoying when they grow in, as they stick out. But I don't want to dye them either, I really like the look.

It’s beautiful! I’m 31 now but I got my first grey about 6 years ago. Now I have about 6-7 pieces of grey hair but only on my right side. My hair is long curly brown, light brown with alittle blond in it. It’s all natural too. My mom told me that people use to ask her when I was only 6, if she dyed my hair. Which of course she didn’t. The picture I have on here, I did have a few blond highlights only because I wanted it to look even. Idc anymore. I haven’t dyed it in years and it’s definitely not healthy for your hair. Your hair is so pretty and long just the way it is. I wish I was more confident as you when I was younger. Having so many different colors in my hair when I was younger, when I was in high school, it use to bother me so I did put highlights in it for years. But since I stopped- I love my hair even more. Because it’s me. So thank you for sharing your story.

When I started watching your videos, I noticed your hair and how beautiful it looked, but since you recently said in a video you don't like these comments I didn't mention it.
I also started going a little grey in my mid-twenties, I dye my hair, but when I saw you I decided to stop for a while and see how it looks like.
I don't mind my hair, but I live in a country that still covers and hides grey hair and since I was already dying it...
I love that you convinced your mom to stop as well!

I started going grey in my late 20s from a very dark brown and it’s been mostly white for a couple of decades now. Forgoing the dye pot was deeply unfashionable then but I’ve never regretted it and I’m happy to have avoided the growing out and/or root touch ups dye brings with it. The yellow that creeps in can be annoying - purple shampoo/conditioner usually takes care of that though.

I had a lady pastor when I was a kid who had gone completely silver in her early forties, and I always thought it looked beautiful. Now my mom has a lot of salt and whatever the auburn version of pepper is and when she got a big section of just white in her bangs she dyed them blue, and that was a lot of fun!

I have had a silver patch amongst dark brown hair (like the X-men Rogue) and used to hate the attention it bright me as an extremely shy child. I was even called grandma once as a teen which hurt as I clearly wasn’t an adult yet! Now as a 34yr old mother of three, I’ve got quite a few extra grey hairs that are appearing in the rest of hair and I love it! I’ve even noticed a grey eyelash. And I hold a similar view to you with colouring my hair, although I’ve always wanted to try a bubblegum pink or raven blue.

Uhh, I like the Idea of dark blue or dark green! I think that could look really cool on you! I do think it looks great now as well though.
My mom went sort of... 40% gray in her twenties and has continued to dye her hair because of that. Me, I look forward to going gray. However not in the "I'm so stressed" way I feel it's going now. Fantasy books I find usually have one "handsome darkhaired woman with streaks of gray that only enhances her handsomeness" or something along those lines and I quite like that.

I'm 39 and started getting grey hairs at age 24. This year I started getting more obvious thick grey streaks as I am almost 40. I've been adding aqua and dark blue hair dye to my hair which looks very beautiful with the grey and my natural dark ash brown colored hair. I've been doing mermaid hair since I was 35 to try out new things since I've been doing the natural look most of my life with just my beautiful curly ash brown hair. It's been fun to start straightening my hair as well which helps me to see all the colors better and the shiny streaks. It also helps to know that teenagers actually dye their hair grey. I dress like I am in my teens and fool people with my age since my face looks younger than 30 according to the comments i receive from people LOL. I've never had plastic surgery or any thing that makes my face look younger. It just runs on my Mom's side of the family. I do have wrinkles but that apparently doesn't make me look 30 to others.

I love your hair, and I think it makes you look very elegant! I have more and more gray hairs each year, and I started finding grays at about 31 years of age. I'm 38 now, and sometimes people are flabbergasted that I don't dye my hair. Like you, I don't want to deal with the cost and time and effort involved with using dye. As long as my hair is healthy and hydrated and voluminous, I am happy with my hair and its appearance!
