I loved Sorcery and Small Magics so much! I'm not sure I'm really into the FL edition.... EXCEPT THE ILLUSTRATED AND ANNOTATED CHAPTER so still deciding if I wanna pick it up secondhand for that 😅
for the owlcrate gothic cathedral tealight, fold the cathedral part up so it's at a right angle/perpendicular to the tealight opening. So the tealight sits in the little well and the cathedral window is in front of it, so you see the flame through the window. Hope that was clear, I feel like it's really easy to do but very hard to explain lol
I, too, will never be sick of purple! It's my favorite color and I think it looks great with foiling, both gold and silver. I really, really wanted A Dark and Secret Magic from Unplugged. It is gorgeous! Unfortunately, when it was on sale, my budget couldn't fit it in, but I definitely admire yours! If you don't like it...keep me in mind! lol! I do have the book on hold at the library...actually, I asked my local librarian to buy it and she did which is the best part of being part of a small library. :) Liked the cottage core box a lot too. The tapestry is really cool, but huge! I wouldn't have a spot to put it unless it could turn into blanket, maybe? Sew some soft fabric on the reverse side. The moth shelf is really cool! Never seen something like that before in a box. The Dracula book pot is pretty cool. I like getting pens, but find that the OC ones have so little ink in them. They never last long at all. The tea light thing, you have to fold the round part 90 degrees so the candle shines through it. Agree about the book. First time I saw it, I was okay with it but the longer I have it, the less I like it. I ended up getting a new one since the last 10 pages were not bound into my book, but it was easy enough to get a new one, no arguing from OC. I'm really over the vampire books from OC. I think they've had 3 vampire books in 2 months, something like that. And they are all romantasy. I'm getting tired of only romantasy from them too! I am happy that they sent the book only boxes the overlays too. Someone told me that they go on pages 127 (Fireplace scene) and 175-176 (group scene). I miss the OC spoiler card! The Illumicrate book cover is nice! Love a good dragon artwork. I think I lean towards a color artwork on the hardcover over foiling...I think foiling is starting to become a little too used and sometimes it's hard to see what it's supposed to be, where a color artwork is surprising and stands out to me... Thanks for sharing!
A Dark and Secret Magic is really good so far. I'm majorly enjoying the story so hopefully you can get it from the library. I was literally thinking about sewing soft fabric on the back too since it's just too big to really use anywhere in my house. That's good that they replaced it, but it sucks that it definitely is just not that great of a design... I'm still sad about it. They could have done some really cool stuff with it.
@@kimberlyreads I am number 4 on the list, so hopefully not too much longer! I would, I think the tapestry would make a nice blanket. Minky fabric would be super soft. It's not hard to sew with, but the edges do fray a bit so you get fluff everywhere, but it's worth it.
That Immortal Dark book cover was definitely lackluster, imo. Hopefully the book itself is really good, though. Everything else in all the boxes looked really nice. I hope you enjoy all the books! 😊
Owlcrate isn't doing spoiler cards anymore. It's all online. You have to use the QR code on the inside of the box for it, which is also where you find what pages the overlays go on. I am annoyed that they don't fit in the book well. Like they stick out further.
By some miracle I actually got both my october illumicrate and fairyloot combo box on Oct. 31st, i.e., in October. Usually I don't get these boxes in the month they are for.
Two things: 1) The normal publication of Immortal Dark is actually kinda cooler/already also specialized and 2) The book was not great. I feel that when publishers are doing "special editions" for new releases it is almost a sign it won't be good these days, which is disappointing.
Masters of Death was a DNF for me too. I felt like it was a me thing, and being weird because so many people seemed to love it and I just could not get into it. I'm looking forward to getting the next Evernight book but hope it's good. I unhauled the eyeball book they did because...ew. I like horror but I have limits to icks and that is one of them. I need to think about the book boxes I'm getting and decide what to cut because many of the books I get aren't anything that was on my radar to buy. It's good for authors to get their books out there but if I'm not interested in then then it's a waste of my money. Then again, if I skip or cancel and I miss one I wanted I will be upset. I skipped Owlcrate's December boxes last year and I missed out on The Serpent and the Wings of Night and I liked that book so I got book 2 when the dropped it but they didn't have extras of book 1 and the prices for book 1 online are ridiculous and I am not paying that. Fingers crossed one will be sold reasonably at some point. I also need to just chill on buying books. The FOMO is real though. 🤣
I'm glad (and super sad) to be part of the Masters of Death DNF club. I JUST got my Evernight. Figures it came literally the day after this video posted. I skipped the eyeball one because I just KNEW it would not be a design I was a fan of. So I avoided that trauma. Yeah, anytime I think of skipping any of the full item boxes, I get baaaaad FOMO. Luckily I've conquered my FOMO over skipping individual books if I don't think I'll like them.

New subscriber! 😊. I’ve caught your vids before and you seem to have very similar tastes to me. I’m also trying to come to terms with the square books but it’s the heavy “college textbook” feel for me that does it. Ugh 😅. Felt the same about Owlcrate’s book. Standard edition was much better, and like someone else mentioned on here, I will never understand publisher’s choices in specializing books. A book like Crimson Moth got no (bookstore) special editions when it came out and that’s just CRIIMINAL. Did they even read it? 😅😑😑😑😑
Great unboxings. 📚☕🎃🍁🍄🍂

THANK YOU! I was staring at it like a moron for awhile and then shrugged and gave up 🤣 You've made my life a thousand times easier.

The Crimson Moth needs a really cool amazing special edition immediately. I love Fairyloot's but I want another one 🤣
I LOVE that version of Immortal Dark!!! I hate the original version!
