One more secret vert trick I’ve learned is isometric holds with resistance bands, it’s actually very scientific but because the resistance bands changes in length as you hold your isomeric hold ( very little changes) your body has to react to that stimulus, causing you to train your deep fast twitch muscle fibers. Much better than isometric with weights. Athletes are getting breakthrough result with this and you should look into it!!!!
Would you recommend to only do reverse deadmills 3x a week to get rid of knee pain or would you add something else? Low level Plyo’s makes my right knee feel weird and fragile
Thank you for the video im a soccer player recovering from acl surgery about 4 months in. This really translates well and I like how you broke it down. I was wondering if in the future can you speak more about isometrics and eccentrics or point me to a video.
You're welcome! Hmm yes did you mean isometrics and eccentrics specific to tendon health? I have plenty of videos on tendon health but not one specifically talking about the science behind these and why they work. I can definitely make something like that!
@@NathanaelMorton yes I meant videos on how to use those types of exercises for tendon health. I am a new sub so I hadn't seen your previous videos but if any of them are like this one, I've stumbled upon a treasure trove of info to use on my road to recovery. Thank you for responding.
Is it a good idea to train three a day? Maybe first arms then basketball and then legs? Maybe just strength first so both arm and legs and plyometrics later? Side question what is the best exercise to build fast twitch muscles in the glutes? And I am a teenager so I think I don't need as much time to recover
I'm a boxer, but I love your vids and how they apply to athleticism overall. My right foot overpronates which causes my right quad to be way weaker and less developed than my left leg. I also have poor ankle mobility. I'm glad I discovered you, kneesovertoesguy, and PJF performance. I need my body to be working as efficiently as possible. Thank you.
I am an athlete that either plays basketball or football everyday along with weight training. I do leg days twice a week normally but I’m more sore after leg days doing it once a week. I think this due to my bad knees. What do you think I should do. Love the vids btw. Thanks
Nice vid ! Quick question ? You can work out your knees for example with your slant board squats every day or every other day ? Thanks ? I'm aware that the knee and its tendons take longer to heal from the tears than muscle ?
Love the video’s Nate. I have a video request, can you explain the differences for rep ranges and set ranges? Also where do they play in different phases of vert training?
Hey Nate, you’ve been helping me a lot lately with all these program reviews. What I do is I go around channels and take exercises to do to get a high vert. What are 5 exercises should I definitely do?
Whats up Nathan I love your videos. I am about to begin the 4 month jump training program. A few questions: The phase 1-4 describing core workouts. Are these supposed to be done daily before the jump training as as a warmup? Also, do you think sliced wheat/whole grain bread is a good enough source of carbs according to your nutrition advice?
Hey nathanael i was wondering if you think doing heavy trap bar deadlifts and heavy bulgarian split squats in the same workout is to much? And by heavy i mean heavy enough to where its challenging but i can move it explosively
Should I get more muscle mass and gain or get leaner for basketball?I am 5'8 73 kgs,I gained up to 77 from 72 and then back to 73 now what should I do?
I do your free body weight program and I do them twice a week because I do other workouts throughout the week like upper body and abs, so I was just wondering if doing the program twice a week is good enough and about how much can it increase my vert?
Hey Nathaniel, I’m in phase 3 of your at home vertical program, and I have a question: at my absolute best, I can touch rim with my 2 middle fingers, while my standing 2 foot jump has felt stagnant. Is it normal for me to not touch rim on certain days during the course of this workout? And also, how can I improve my standing 2 foot jump?
im currently getting ready for a dunk session. should i do low level plyometrics the day before or should i just rest? btw mess w the content very informative 💪🏽💯
Appreciate it bro thanks for the support! I would do low level plyos. Maybe you are different, but for me, if I take a day off, the next day I don't feel fresh. Just a TINY bit of stimulus. Another trick is to do a few sets of weighted jumps before your jump session. Like 4 sets of 4 reps of dumbbell squat jumps (light dumbbells). Then do your jump session touching net, backboard, rim, dunking. The weighted jumps trick your nervous system into thinking that another set of weighted jumps is coming. But it's not. It's your body weight jump session - which will help you to fly
Should we do stuff like tibialis raises, Nordics, Patrick step ups the same day we do vertical jump training or should we do it between those workouts?
Hey man I just started your free body weight program but I heard you’re making it better. Is it coming out soon and should I just continue the program in that case? I also do the workouts twice a week on Monday and Saturday because i do other workouts like abs and upper body days so is that fine?
Is it okay to workout your upper-body with a body building type of workout? But you’ll separate it in a upper 1 is strength and power and upper 2 is hypertrophy day?
hey coach can you do a video about tweaking some exercises on your bodyweight vert program if they have alot of space and got some home equipments like resistance bands or dumbbells
I watch your videos alot and i went from grabbing the rim with my fingers to grabbing the rim below my fingers, currently 16 y/o, 68-70KG and at a 33" max vertical jump
I’ve been doing your jump program, which has really helped I’ve gained 2 inches after phase 1. But I have been wondering how long should the rests be in phase 2
Piriformis Stretch and foam rolling Strengthen your core - core workouts 3x per week Strengthen your lower back with hyperextensions or supermans Stop doing whatever hurts your back for a few days and then slowly load it back in
hey Nathanel, I'm doing beyond the rim, but this weekend I started volleyball practices. I'm doing your program tuesday and thursday, and volleyball saturday and sunday, is it ok?
Hey Nate, I’ve been dealing with a shin splint for about a week now and I don’t know what to do, should I completely rest it? Or should I do some exercises to heal it? Could you help me because I’m pretty lost. If there are some exercises could you please give me examples. Thanks man
Day 1 - Rest Day 2 - Stretch it softly by kneeling down and sitting back on your feet - 3 Sets of 15 Second Stretches; Also do 3 sets of 10 Tibialis Raises Day 3 - Stretch it softly - 3 Sets of 30 Second Stretches; Also do 3 sets of 15 Tibialis Raises Day 4 - Rest Day 5 - Stretch it softly - 3 Sets of 30 Second Stretches; Also do 3 sets of 20 Tibialis Raises Day 6 - Stretch it softly - 3 sets of 30 seconds Day 7 - Stretch it softly - 3 Sets of 30 Second Stretches; Also do 3 sets of 20 Tibialis Raises It will be better after that. Unless you're still doing too much activity - then it won't get better. You need to reduce the load for a few days and then build the load (sports and activities) back up slowly.
So should i do eccentric or isometric for warmup and then directly do some plyo's ? By the way i had patellar tendonitis but i have no more pain and i'm trying to go back to jumping.
What's a good shoe that has stopping power .. I need it to jump higher. Outside I was jumping high enough to dunk 10"2 and indoor gym I was only touching 10"5 on my vert tech and now I touch 10"7 on vert tech but shoes aren't fresh anymore and gym is slippery now. So I need a shoe that forces me to stop like concrete does other wise my jumping form is quad dominant from sliding and my outside form is great and hip dominant.
Do you still give the next part of the programme out after you have finished the body weight programme and you show evidence of you dunking/increasing your vertical
