Kaitlyn, don't feel discouraged! It takes time to adjust to a new environment, especially when that new environment is in a foreign country and you don't speak the language. When I moved to the US (I am German) to live with my husband after years of being in a long distance relationship, I had a hard time adopting to "his life" and finding my own place in it even though my English was fluent at the time. But he had his job, his friends, etc and I didn't. Only after I found a job and made some friends on my own I felt better. I don't know what your plans are for the time you'll spend in Marburg. But i.e. having a regular schedule (like taking a German class or getting a job), having a hobby or making friends helps. An easy way to meet people is to join a sports club. There's a big club culture in Germany and joining a team like i.e. a basketball, volleyball, handball or soccer team can be the first step to make friends. Even if you don't speak any German. Most people will be happy to improve their high school English knowledge and won't mind talking English with you. That being said, welcome to Germany, Kaitlyn!
I commented this when Silas picked her up from the airport: her ü was on point, which is very hard for any English speaking person. She said to Silas how the woman at the store pronounced Birkenstock, she pays a lot of attention and I think she will learn German quicker than the boys.
The average woman does better at languages than men. Maybe they just put more effort into it. It seems to be the same for every language and worldwide.
May 1st is actually a holiday for several reasons. The official designator is "Tag der Arbeit" A day to celebrate the workforce. Labour unions and socialist politicians tried for a long time to make it a holiday, but actually the Nazis made it into a holiday pandering to workers. The other thing is it's a little like Valentines day in the US. A day for lovers. On the night before May 1st men put up a birch tree ornated with colourful ribbons at the house of the women they love and have o guard it all night (because others will try to steal it) as a sign of their affection. The tree stays there all month long and at the end of the month the woman is supposed to reward the man with a case of beer. There are other regional traditions. Those are the ones I know.
where i am, u usually give it to a girl that doesn't know u like her yet,the girl then has 3 tries to guess who put it up, if she fails all 3 tries she has to invite a guy to dinner
3:50 I'm so impressed Kaitlyn is a natural talent! It's the second time she pronounces a German word (Birkenstock) almost perfectly. Like when she said "Tschüss" in the other video 😊
Many Germans act as if they were starving on a single holiday. They collectively rush into supermarkets and go nuts there on the previous day. Witnessing that is pretty damn hilarious. :D
There is some people like Silas who are very outgoing persons who do not have problems with that. But I can understand that at the beginning that might be difficult in a foreign country.
I think Kaitlyn needs a project for the time she is in Germany, like taking German lessons, visiting some lectures at the local uni, volunteering at an animal shelter, or whatever. You can't fill your days with nothing and expect to be happy. What did she think she was going to do? Surely you two didn't spend every minute of the day together back in the U.S.? What is she going to do while you are at practice? She needs something she does for herself, otherwise you might just end up resenting each other. I think it's a great opportunity to live in a foreign country together, but it is going to take work. Things aren't just going to happen, she needs to find something meaningful.

Yesterday was "Walpurgisnacht" (walpurgis night) which is also celebrated as "Tanz in den Mai" (dance in to may) and since today's a holiday, you have those "festivals" all over Germany because it's a free day :) Oh and a small new word for you: If there is normal working day between a holiday and the weekend (in this case monday was a normal day and tuesday is the holiday) we call this day "Brückentag" (literally: bridge day) because it's like a bridge between free days and many people try to get this day off to have a longer weekend.
If you want to play with dogs you can go to any animal shelter (for example in Marburg-Cappel there is one) and ask if you can walk some dogs. They certainly are happy about some help!
Kaitlyn, maybe doing a class to learn German might be an option for you? That way you'd be able to make new friends and learn German. Also I feel like being able to talk to others who are just starting in a new country as well might be nice.
The even have intensive courses. But I guess the problem might be the cost of it. But maybe in exchange with some video help or "exposure" that can be minimized? When I looked at the VHS homepage I saw something interesting for Saturday May 5th - a stroll through historical Marburg in English - it might to be meant for Germans that learn English but is probably interesting for Americans without many German knowledge, too. Costs 5 EUR. And Kaitlyn maybe gets to learn some Germans.
I think Kaitlynn does very well for the short time she is here in germany. I would suggest to take a german course. There she can meet friends and learn the language. Now she only knows the guys you are hanging out with.
Walpurgisnacht. Geht in dem Fall um die Vertreibung von Hexen und sowas. Ist ein Brauch aus dem Mittelalter, den die Leute dennoch weiterhin betreiben.
Some make Walpurgisnacht some make "Tanz in den Mai" (May-dance) it differs from the region you are in. Here deep in NRW we have Tanz in den Mai everywere.
I Cologne area, all the guys place some trees (Maibäume) at a girls place, if they love her. Beforehand you have to decorate it with a heart + her name on it.
00jimbojones000 - to be more precise, the socialist unions invented it, and Hitler made it a national holiday after he came into power as a move to sleaze up with the workers. It was kept after 1945 as it is basically a socialist thing and was celebrated in both parts of Germany before 1989.
Videouberwatschung :D Oh my god hilarious... I love it :D I don't mean to offend you Silas. I love watching you :) And I think it is amazing what you are doing and how much work you put into learning this new and difficult language :D
Dear Kaitlyn First of all welcome to germany i hope you have a wonderful time here. I know it can be really rough living in a new country but you will soon adapt / settle in just dont let the frustration pull you down emotionally . when it gets tough try to remember that you are on this great adventure with the man you love and that it is an opportunity and a blessing to be able to live in a new country and to experience a different culture . And now for something that will hopefully bring a smile to your face there is an animal shelter really close by where you live in marburg www.tierheim-marburg,de . They have cats and dogs that you can pet and play with and they also have a dog walking program that you can join . Also if you talk with Anja she might be able to set up something so you could film there with Silas and try and help them out . Animal shelters rely on help from volunteers and happily accept all the help they get . here is the address its really close to Tegut and Lidl Silas knows where those stores are Tierheim Cappel Bahnhaus 7 35043 Marburg
After 30 years of living in the UK I can say two things: Men's clothes are on the upper floor here too and I have seen signs for men's clothing and for mens clothing but never men clothing. If it just says men it's a toilet.
There are no places were you can pay to play with a dog. But you can pet a dog after you asked someone. Almost everyone say yes if you ask. You can go to a shelter and go for a walk with a dog too.
Aren't there always a couple of stages whenever you move to a new country + culture... 1st couple days / few weeks everything is super exciting and awesome, then you start to encounter the first problems and start to realize that the differencs are not all just fascinating new things, but some might actually be problematic for you. Then you start to get homesick and if you manage to go past that, it suddenly all starts to settle down and you eventually start to find your place and figure out how everything works. Much depends on 1. your personality and attitude -> the less open you are, the harder it all becomes. 2. on the people you surround yourself with -> being on your own is the worst thing, but just relying on persons that come from the same background will also eventually become an issue, you will always just be a "visitor" and will probably miss out on what can actually be the best part of living abroad, really diving into a new culture, rather than "observe" it as a bystander.
Silas you can go to a "tierheim" animel shelter and take a dog for a walk. The people there are really thankful for it and you don't need to pay anything.
Dashi3ll - it's even really close to their home. ETA - it would also be a great way for her to meet some people who aren't introduced to her via Silas. There's nothing more German than joining a 'Verein'.
For translating all sorts of signs and small texts - like shops signs, or object names on price tags in stores for example - I'd recommend the official "Google Translate" app. It doesn't even require you to type, so you don't need to know the source language. Just pre-load English and German as languages in the app to have the database for those available offline, open the app, click the camera button inside, and then simply point your camera to the text you want translated. The translation appears on the fly while you move the camera. That's probably the easiest way to browse a shopping mall in a different country - how to find the men's or women's section, etc. If I'd go to China or Japan, I'd certainly use "Google Translate" in this particular way. So Kaitlyn could use that in Germany as well. It would work. Just don't try to translate whole sentences or paragraphs. They usually make no sense in any language. For single words or word groups this app works well though. Give it a shot.
If you want to play with dogs, volunteer in an animal shelter. Every German town has one. I'm sure they are thankful for every help they can get. They have dates where you can take dogs for a walk. You also can take part in an animal shelter dog school or you can cuddle with cats. Here is a link to their site: www.tierheim-marburg.de/wie-kann-ich-helfen/ (only in German, use google trannslator for better undertsanding)
Kaitlyn, you must have your American phone, right? So, why don't you just download a dictionary app (LEO is really good!!!) at home via WLAN and use it offline when you're "on the road"? :)
always wondered about that. It's the obvious solution. Same for offline SatNav apps, instead off struggling to find free wifis and predownload google maps stuff. Maybe it makes things less exiting and adventurous.
Sorry but haven't you guys heard about the Linguee App? www.linguee.com IMHO at the moment the best dictionary, also with offline capabilities. From the guys who developed the Deepl Translator www.deepl.com/translator
Maybe try the local shelter, "Tierheim". In some cities they are looking for volunteers to walk the dogs. E: Yup, Tierheim Marburg does look for volunteers: www.tierheim-marburg.de/wie-kann-ich-helfen/hunde-team-tierheim-cappel/ - There basically is a mandatory walk-dogs-101 on Saturday, May 5th oder May 19th or June 2nd. You gotta email them at tierheim@marburg.de to register. After completing the course you can walk their dogs.
Hey Kaitlyn ask the people at www.tierheim-marburg.de/ thats the Marburg dog pound. They 'll probably need volounteers to spent some time with the dogs.
Have to say that I really liked the part where you talked about those little difficulties u got as a couple living in Germany. I think it is very helpful for other people that you opened up like that, so other people can learn from it. Keep it up :)
Most animal shelters I know let you spend time with their animals, since they are always pressed for volunteers. Maybe just look for one of them and give them a call?
You can go to an animal shelter (which means Tierheim in German) There you can get a dog and go for a walk with it. I don't know if this is a thing in Marburg, but in most of Germany you can do it. (cause Kaitlyn asked)
Hey Silas, I really appreciate your videos, keep the good work up. The first of May is called "Tag der Arbeit" (labour-day) where it is tradition for the working class to demonstrate e.g. for better payment. It all started on the first of May 1886 in the USA 🇺🇸. Where over a million workers demonstrated for the 8-hour-workday. So today everywhere in Germany people go outside having big demonstrations and parties. I hope I could help you out of your confusion.
Yes. In Berlin there is a really really big festival. In former days it's been an opportunity to demonstrate for the working class. But nowadays it's more about drinking and having fun. But especially in Berlin Kreuzberg there are still kinda traditional demonstrations where they burn cars or throw stones etc. This is a more violent way of protesting and that's why there is sooo so much police on the streets on May 1st.
Enjoyed your video like always! Thanks for showing us your day. :) As for Kaitlyn, there's many apps you can use to learn basic words like Guten Tag, Wie geht's dir, entschuldigung, etc. I've been using many apps for over a year & I've learned quite a lot of German, without any actual physical classes. Duolingo, Memrise, Babbel, as well as other apps in the Play/App Store are free. Just gotta put some effort into trying to learn it. :)
May 1st is special because it is the so called "Day of the Work" (in german:" Tag der Arbeit") on this day many people go protesting for better wages and Labor rights.
engage yourself in some sort of activity. Learn the language, go to a photography class, walk dogs, take a dancing lesson, just fill up your time Kaitlyn. You dont have to intend to make new friends, just take up a hobby and it will happen naturally
You have to make a video about the Fränkische Schweiz. I would suggest going to Ebermanstadt and when you are there you should defiantly check out the Felsenbad Streitburg, there you can sometimes eat the best traditional German food "Ziebeleskäs" for a very cheap price, after taking a relaxing swim. Than after that there is even an old stronghold near it, which you can check out. Also there is a famous cave near by and it isn't to far away from the famous German city of Bamberg. (About 45 min) I would love to see a video by you on that topic.
Its actually a international holiday as the day of workers but the US never integrated May 1st as a holiday because the day of workers holiday originates from the soviet union and started in the cold war where the US was not on good terms with the russians
Actually the origins of the labour day go back to the Haymarket riots in Chicago in 1886. It became a "socialist" day of remembrance in 1904 and an official holiday in Germany in 1933. It's not about the Russians and not about the cold war.
in bavaria it's a bit different: we are cutting a tree and put up the hole tree in the middle of the village. this trees are between 20-60 meters high and are decorated with signs and flags and can be painted. The trees will be put up by a couple of men( 25-60 persons) by hand.
Yo silas your story is very inspiring I'm 16 and I live in Germany also and I love football so if I don't make it in college I'll try the GFL and hopefully your still playing because I would love to see you on the field
I don't know if it's just a feeling or is Kaitlyn really shy? If so, she shouldn't lol. Many Germans, especially the young ones, are really open- minded and kind. She doesn't need to be afraid to talk to them or ask them something in English because most of us speak English or at least try to :D But I can understand that she may be a bit insecure, as well. It's a new country, new people and a whole bunch of different impressions. There's another thing I wanted to tell you (Silas) and Conner: Please stay as you are! Your positivity is so motivating. Everytime I watch your videos you make me happy, laugh and see the world a bit more colorful than I used to before. You're not trying to "impress" someone or to be hard, tough guys. You're just yourselves and that's what makes you so damn likable!
You can actually go to the tierheim cappel (animal shelter) they are usually very happy when people come an take their dogs for a walk or play with them. Asking doesn't cost anything like we say in Germany
So, first of May...as a lot of other people already explained to you, it is labour day. But in Germany it also kind of clashes with Walpurgisnacht, which is the night of April 30 to the first of May - which is basically the attempt of the church to replace the even older ancient spring festivities. So there are a lot of traditions connected with this day...having a giant fire on the 30.April to get rid of ghosts, the "Dance into May" where you spend the evening celebrating with Mai bowle and having a dance exactly at midnight, putting up the Mai tree...it kind of depends on the region. Basically you have on the one hand people following old traditions...ie the "Maigang" which basically means that you organize a giant barrel of beer, put it on a cart and then you and your friend have a nice little walk with it, getting drunk along the way...and on the other hand a lot of demonstrations for better worker conditions.
The 1st of may is the day of work To appreciate it and so on And everywhere there are either festivals like in Marburg or people are going on "hikes", taking alcohol with them and celebrating Or on actual hikes if you are a bit older
1. Mai is amazing. There is fun for everyone! The kids do their pranks at night, the adults gets drunk at "Tanz in den Mai" partys. And if that is to boring, you can go to Berlin and throw some rocks at the police or set some cars on fire! (nah, dont do that!)
Food tip: That place you were at for the party has a restaurant called "Edlunds" (far side from where you came from, a bit up the hill). They are a Swedish restaurant and their food is amazing. I actually haven't eaten meat there yet because their vegi burger just replaces the meat with grilled cheese which is too good to pass up. Can also recommend the swedish coffee!
You need to spend 1th may at the Bergstraße. For example start at Alsbach and walk over the mountain towards Heppenheim. It's called "Weinlagenwanderung" and there are vine stops all over the route. It's every year. Hope that was understandable ^^" You could also make a stop at Zwingenberg to visit our Country Club if you don't want to walk for so long :)
Mai 1 is like a traditional free day that exists since like 1900. Its the "Tag der Arbeit" / "Day of Work", originally a day where you go work, but now a day of free time and joy for the weather getting warm.
Tanz in den Mai (Dance into May) on 30th April originates from a Celtic festival called Beltane. You might be more familiar with another festival celebrated six month later :)
In most city's there are places where a lot of dog owners regularly meet... I would go there and ask the owners to play with the dogs... also you could use the blackboard at a supermarket to look for dog owners who are open for shareing their dog. Some even pay people to walk their dogs...
@Kaitlyn You can go to a dog shelter if you're looking for a dog, usually they are more than happy if someone is looking to spend time with their dogs Also: if you have trouble finding/understanding/reading something - don't hesitate to ask the people around you. Most Germans are pretty decent at speaking English and we are all very happy to help out!
have you ever been to berlin? it seems that you are well-adjusted to the life in a small town but i feel you‘re missing out on a lot of major things (like the last day of april and the firstof may)
6:05 yes, I think so In my city there is the ,,Baggersee“ where you can play with your dog and a big Meadow But I don't know in your city where you are is also something like that
Regarding the playing with dogs request - I‘m pretty sure Marburg has an animal shelter somewhere. You can go there and ask if they need someone for voluntary work like going on a walk with the dogs. Animal shelters usually are happy for any voluntary work (cause they don‘t have much money) - and the dogs are happy to be walked outside (instead of sitting inside most of the time). And she‘ll be doing a good deed helping the dogs.
We celebrate May 1st because it's Labour Day and we also put here in Bavaria a tree up....we call it Maibaum ( Maypole) ....and we dance into May 1st and we also have many Festival's going on at that day because of the Maypole festival...... Kaithlyn...I guess you have to go to an animal shelter to walk or play with dogs.....they are always happy to have an extra helping hand 😉
for playing with dogs go to the Tierheim in Cappel ,it’s the local animal shelter so both sites will be happy and you can have beautiful moments with the lovely inhabitants! hope it helps .otherwise ask at a Hundeschule dog school for something like playing hour or so :) but I think the shelter is even more beautiful
11:53 on the birthday party of an friends of mine (3rd of January) we played beer pong in the open and the beer literally froze to a very stiff slush... AND WE STILL DRUNK IT
Normally at local “Tierheims“ you can get a dog and take him for a walk for a few hours and it's mostly for free snd mote like volunteer work. Every City in Germany has a “Tierheim“ so you will surely find one in Marburg.
Im not from marburg but you should be able to go to an animale shelter near you like tierheim cappel marburg and there you can play with the dogs and if they trust you they maybe allow you to take the dog for a walk.
There is no place for playing only, but you can volunteer at the animal shelter in capple and walk with the dogs they are always happy about it
DeanLP but if you have a dog you can surely go to a field or something like this and play with the dog
yeah but they don't have a dog so whats the point bruh
capital f but why does she ask for than
yeah, I meant not for playing only.
also the name is Cappel
Helene Fischer: *sings *
Germans: bruh. Not again
Exactly.

Silas Nacita I think there was a song of her playing in your IG Story.
@Silas Helene Fischer is the German equivalent of Taylor Swift.
I hate Helene Fischer!
If you want to play with dogs, maybe try it at an animal shelter, I'm sure there is one around.
yeah, that's a good tip :)
www.tierheim-marburg.de/
indeed the animals are most times very happy about somebody to take them for a walk or just spend time with them

Kaitlyn‘s German pronounciation is mu bette than the boys and she‘s been there for a few days only
only because 'Birkenstock' is a well known brand in the US as well ^^
yenzmcgee Yes, but you can prounounce it in the American way or prounounce it like Germans do.
I commented this when Silas picked her up from the airport: her ü was on point, which is very hard for any English speaking person. She said to Silas how the woman at the store pronounced Birkenstock, she pays a lot of attention and I think she will learn German quicker than the boys.

Videouberwatschung :D Oh my god hilarious... I love it :D I don't mean to offend you Silas. I love watching you :) And I think it is amazing what you are doing and how much work you put into learning this new and difficult language :D
ich interpretiere kaitlyn mal so: kauf mir einen hund und alles wird gut... :)
Dear Kaitlyn
First of all welcome to germany i hope you have a wonderful time here.
I know it can be really rough living in a new country but you will soon adapt / settle in just dont let the frustration pull
you down emotionally . when it gets tough try to remember that you are on this great adventure with the man you love and
that it is an opportunity and a blessing to be able to live in a new country and to experience a different culture .
Animal shelters rely on help from volunteers and happily accept all the help they get .
here is the address its really close to Tegut and Lidl Silas knows where those stores are
Tierheim Cappel
Bahnhaus 7
35043 Marburg
In german stores mens clothes are on the top floor, with underwear and socks and womens clothing ist evrywhere else 😂😂😂
men*
NICO DERGAMER *men's
Ist beides richtig ;)
After 30 years of living in the UK I can say two things:
Men's clothes are on the upper floor here too and I have seen signs for men's clothing and for mens clothing but never men clothing. If it just says men it's a toilet.
There are no places were you can pay to play with a dog. But you can pet a dog after you asked someone. Almost everyone say yes if you ask. You can go to a shelter and go for a walk with a dog too.
7.04 did he say „for my bobbes“ 😂😂 that killed me 😂
Lets go to the mall...today
shut up, robin scherbatsky :D
joners huber xD
juliaonthecrusade *Sparkles
come on jessica, come on tory... 😂👍😃
sparkles XD
Conner saying "For my Bobbes" is one of the cutest things I have ever seen.
BRUH! My wife introduced me to your vlogs and I'm all about the music you choose for them. Bomb af.
Silas you can go to a "tierheim" animel shelter and take a dog for a walk. The people there are really thankful for it and you don't need to pay anything.
Yes, in Marburg is an animal shelter where you can play with some dogs :)
www.tierheim-marburg.de/
Dashi3ll - it's even really close to their home.
ETA - it would also be a great way for her to meet some people who aren't introduced to her via Silas. There's nothing more German than joining a 'Verein'.
True.
For translating all sorts of signs and small texts - like shops signs,
or object names on price tags in stores for example - I'd recommend the
official "Google Translate" app. It doesn't even require you to type, so
you don't need to know the source language. Just pre-load English and
German as languages in the app to have the database for those available
offline, open the app, click the camera button inside, and then simply point
your camera to the text you want translated. The translation appears on the fly
while you move the camera.
That's probably the easiest way to browse a shopping mall in a different country
- how to find the men's or women's section, etc. If I'd go to China or Japan, I'd
certainly use "Google Translate" in this particular way. So Kaitlyn could use that
in Germany as well. It would work.
Just don't try to translate whole sentences or paragraphs. They usually make no sense
in any language. For single words or word groups this app works well though. Give it a shot.
Nothing but love for you two, great to see you guys having fun in Marburg!
# cadeeja In English it’s called WiFi ;)
always wondered about that. It's the obvious solution.
Same for offline SatNav apps, instead off struggling to find free wifis and predownload google maps stuff. Maybe it makes things less exiting and adventurous.
+Thomas Zieske, dein ernst? Wlan heißt "Wireles Local Area Network"...
Dict.cc has an offline dictionary and it’s better than Leo too imo
Sorry but haven't you guys heard about the Linguee App?
www.linguee.com
IMHO at the moment the best dictionary, also with offline capabilities.
I love how honest you are and talking about mistakes/ thinks you have to improve. and your outfit was awesome :D
Most animal shelters I know let you spend time with their animals, since they are always pressed for volunteers. Maybe just look for one of them and give them a call?
I don’t know about Marburg but usually you can walk dogs from shelters. :)
(German word is “Tierheim”, just so you can google😄)
You can go to an animal shelter (which means Tierheim in German) There you can get a dog and go for a walk with it. I don't know if this is a thing in Marburg, but in most of Germany you can do it. (cause Kaitlyn asked)
Hey Silas,
I really appreciate your videos, keep the good work up.
5:30 it‘s called ‚schuhlöffel‘ in germany
AKA Schlappen
Maybe you can go to the shelter and ask to Play or go for a Walk with them ( sorry for my bad english 😬 )
Shelter in German is " Tierheim "
Enjoyed your video like always! Thanks for showing us your day. :)
As for Kaitlyn, there's many apps you can use to learn basic words like Guten Tag, Wie geht's dir, entschuldigung, etc.
I've been using many apps for over a year & I've learned quite a lot of German, without any actual physical classes. Duolingo, Memrise, Babbel, as well as other apps in the Play/App Store are free. Just gotta put some effort into trying to learn it. :)
Go to a local animal shelter ("Tierheim"). They usually let you take dogs for a walk ;)
Anja's reaction was "so freakin' dope!" :D
Great video as always
Was ist los in der Bundespost !!!
Hope I’ll see you someday in Marburg cuz I live there but haven’t yet😞. Love kaitlyn and you, your videos r so amazing ❤️
(About 45 min)
I would love to see a video by you on that topic.
1st of may is "Tag der Arbeit" in english its called "international workers day" and its a state holiday.
Where does Conner sleep right now?
In the doghouse 13:32
in the hallway i think, poor Conner :( haha :p
or maybe under a bridge :D
He’s “in the doghouse” not means he sleeps in the doghouse 😂 it means no one likes him rn because of what he did
OOoooooooooooooooooh! I understood "dark house"! And I was like: Yeah, so? It's best to sleep in a dark house! :D
Hey about those Birkenstocks: They make a version that is wider. Have the same problem. Wider means breiter, when you are talking about shoes.
The Music.....maybe as old as the surrounding houses. But the Dj thinks he's on the main stage of tomorrowland and rockin the croud
in bavaria it's a bit different: we are cutting a tree and put up the hole tree in the middle of the village. this trees are between 20-60 meters high and are decorated with signs and flags and can be painted.
She doesn't need to be afraid to talk to them or ask them something in English because most of us speak English or at least try to :D
But I can understand that she may be a bit insecure, as well.
Bro that time lapse in the beginning was amazing
Ich liebe Anja! :D
You can actually go to the tierheim cappel (animal shelter) they are usually very happy when people come an take their dogs for a walk or play with them. Asking doesn't cost anything like we say in Germany
Hey Silas, have you and Kaitlyn considered getting bikes? They'd make you much less dependent of that car.
8:06 oh yeaahh... At this elevator, or at the stairs next to it, I fought my fear of heights!
The 1st of may is the day of work
To appreciate it and so on
And everywhere there are either festivals like in Marburg or people are going on "hikes", taking alcohol with them and celebrating
Or on actual hikes if you are a bit older
The origin is from the USA, the First of May "eight hours day" a Demonstration against long Work Hours
Katilyn there is no place to just play with dogs but you can volunteer at the lokal shelter like the "Marburg Tierheim" to take a dog for a walk.
Hope that was understandable ^^"
You could also make a stop at Zwingenberg to visit our Country Club if you don't want to walk for so long :)
Mai 1 is like a traditional free day that exists since like 1900. Its the "Tag der Arbeit" / "Day of Work", originally a day where you go work, but now a day of free time and joy for the weather getting warm.
for the dogs, try local shelters, they are usually pretty happy if people turn up to take out dogs and play with them as many are understaffed
i don’t know how it is in marburg but in my city you can go to the animal shelter and take any dog you want for a walk ( just for a day)
I love the side music in the background!
Tanz in den Mai (Dance into May) on 30th April originates from a Celtic festival called Beltane. You might be more familiar with another festival celebrated six month later :)
4:13 socks in Birkenstock's? You're officially German now! 😂😂
Hey Silas your songs in the most of your videos are sooo awesome do you have a own playlist in Spotify?🙈
In most city's there are places where a lot of dog owners regularly meet... I would go there and ask the owners to play with the dogs... also you could use the blackboard at a supermarket to look for dog owners who are open for shareing their dog. Some even pay people to walk their dogs...
Yessssss 1a-Football is from my city and I got my whole equipment there 🤙🏼
Silcas the living advertisement for Deutsche Post 😂😂😂
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labour_Day
Silas, today is international labour (workers) day, all around the Europe
@Kaitlyn
You can go to a dog shelter if you're looking for a dog, usually they are more than happy if someone is looking to spend time with their dogs
Also: if you have trouble finding/understanding/reading something - don't hesitate to ask the people around you. Most Germans are pretty decent at speaking English and we are all very happy to help out!
oh and for the "dance into may" (tanz in den mai) read this
have you ever been to berlin? it seems that you are well-adjusted to the life in a small town but i feel you‘re missing out on a lot of major things (like the last day of april and the firstof may)
6:05 yes, I think so
In my city there is the ,,Baggersee“ where you can play with your dog and a big Meadow
But I don't know in your city where you are is also something like that
Wir lieben dich!!!!
Look how boisterously Pickel rejoices at Silas's new workwear at 2.51.
May 1st is called "Day of work" and Germans use this day to basically get fucked up. The day was introduced by Adolf Hitler
You can play in Marburg or Gießen as a volunteer with the dogs in the shelter
"dont let the failures stop you from finding the successes." silas nacita
Keep up with the Good Content! U are the best
I'm not sure about places where you can play with dogs. But there's a lot of animal shelters where you can volunteer to walk the dogs
11:53 on the birthday party of an friends of mine (3rd of January) we played beer pong in the open and the beer literally froze to a very stiff slush... AND WE STILL DRUNK IT
There is an animal shelter in "Cappel" in Marburg where you can play with cats and dogs. Just google "Tierheim Cappel"
There‘s a café in Nuremberg (Nürnberg) called Katzentempel. It‘s a Catcafé where you can enjoy your coffee and the cats are playing around you.
