Another great, species filled video!!, Congratulations on reaching 2k subs, fully deserved in my humble opinion, I will be taking more notes than ever this year as I have been invited to partake in a species hunting competition/WhatsApp group type thing! Anyway have a great new year & good luck in 2021!!
Cheers mate, have appreciated your support over the last few years! The species hunt sounds interesting, will you be keeping us updated via your videos? 😁🤞 All the best for 2021 mate and hope you keep the videos coming, I always enjoy your uploads 🙂🎣
@@DevonLerfer it’s the bay you can see from from the pier with the cliff railway teaming with whiting and herring at mo , Sandy beach and in the summer full of sea grass, plenty of boulders to fish through😀
Thanks mate 🙂 sorry to hear you're stuck in tier 3, must be very frustrating! I have some time booked off in January and I fear we might all be in lockdown again by then!
Thanks mate, it was a really enjoyable session and we had the place to ourselves until it got dark. I can imagine its a very different vibe in the middle of summer 🤣🎣
@@DevonLerfer And some lol, when the Mackerel are in there's more feathers flying than a pillow stuffing factory. its also a good place for dogfish, as bit of a breeding ground im told, that would be interesting on some light gear.
@@bobbananas289 🤣 oh another one of those sorts of places eh?! I'll stick to winter sessions there then 😂 haha yeah would love to catch a dogfish on LRF gear, they're one of the few species that seem to stick there nose up to a bit of isome!
Another great vid mate with plenty of action..nice selection of species but that tompot 🔥🔥🔥merry Christmas mate hope to catch up with you in the new year
Happy New year to you too mate, hope all is good! I'm going to keep things very simple and just try and get out there and enjoy the fishing. A PB wrasse is the only target I really have, how about you mate?
So I've been browsing your channel. Have you ever given the river Lyn in devon a go? I spent a week there a few years ago, beautiful place. Great video!
I've not fished the Lyn, but have recently started to venture into lure fishing in my local river and I'd very much like to start exploring further afield when things start getting back to normal. Did you catch much when you fished there? Thanks for taking the time to check out my channel 👍🎣
@@DevonLerfer I was targeting salmon which is always a tough out. But I saw a lot of trout, and in addition the estuary at lynmouth has a lot of mullet. Worth checking out if your getting into river fishing. And I like the channel a lot, so subscribing. Tight lines for when the world is less crazy.
Ah yes, I've driven up through the valley a lot and often looked down on the river and wondered what might be lurking in there! Are the fishing rights owned by a club? Sounds like it may be worth a trip. Thanks very much for subbing, have just enjoyed watching your Bass boat trip and about to watch the Brown trout one next, great stuff!
@@DevonLerfer I'm super happy you're enjoying my channel. Thanks for watching. The fishing rights I believe are controlled by the EA, but the ticket is a pittance for the amount of fishing you get. And the estuary is free to fish. I look forward to your next video!
Cheers mate 😁 I've had 40 LRF saltwater species (+squid) and 5 freshwater, the aim is to get to 50 in total by the end of next year! 🤞 Hope you have a fantastic Christmas mate, all the best 👍
Hi mate, have you tried the Major Craft Dangan braid? We've been using it for a while now and really like it, decent price too. The very best I've used is sunline small game but it's very expensive and often hard to get hold of. Thanks mate, tight lines! 👍🎣
A few worth trying online are Chesil Bait and Tackle, Todber Manor and Fishing Megastore 👍 yeah I quite liked the J Braid for heavier fishing but it wasn't great for LRF, I don't think I found any under 8lb
@@DevonLerfer I've used j braid in 5.5lb great for a small perch session on the canal, but I will be having a look at your recommended stuff thanks for your help bud👍
Hello, the beauty of Cheb rigs is that you can change the hooks to suit what lure you're using or species you're targeting. I use anything from an 8 to a 16, but tend to opt for the smaller sizes for most of my fishing 👍
I actually tend to use standard rather than weedless for most of my cheb fishing, the main challenge is finding small hooks with a big enough eye to fit over the wire of a cheb!

Thanks mate, the fishing has been really good so far this winter, long may it last 😁 hope you have a great Christmas too mate, tight lines 👍🎣

Thanks mate! Yeah I do love it when the herring show up, they can provide some great winter sport! Hope you manage to find a few mate 🤞🎣

Nice vid bud, gotta love the all encompassing smell of piss from that corner move down to oddicombe better venue😀👍
Thanks mate. Haha, I'm glad I went there in winter 😂 I've never fished oddicombe, what sort of venue is it? Is it easy one to find /get to? Cheers 🙂🎣

Well done - great video - I wish I could get out to the coast -- am stuck in a tier 3 hell (seemingly forever) and only able to fish my local lakes
Thanks mate 🙂 sorry to hear you're stuck in tier 3, must be very frustrating! I have some time booked off in January and I fear we might all be in lockdown again by then!
Lovely
Thanks mate! 🙂🎣
Cracking video, well done on the 10 species, you make it look so easy. Lovely place to fish as well, can get a bit smelly there some times tho!!
