I love how Mike sees the humor in the way he was treated but it is an absolute f*cking disgrace the way Babcock treated him. I feel bad for him but he got the last laugh .....
Babs may have treated him like shit, but Commie always presents this like he was going to go be a Norris caliber D-man. He wasn't. It's probably a bit fabricated.
As a Jacket fan from Day One, I can honestly think that ownership/management talked to nobody. They did what they have always done…they go after “old glory” in an attempt to impress naive fans and the even more naive local media. Look at coaching…Hitchcock, Torts, almost Babcock. Players? Fedorov , Dineen, Horton, Zonopka, Foote, Carter, Upshall, Prospal. Then several former Ohio State players, only one of which (Umberger) ever deserved to be in the NHL.
I’ve lost all respect for Ken Holland to allow this culture to develop under his watch. I can’t believe the oilers are not evaluating his status of employment
Many coaches have been absolutely insane, they are professionals, I'm not condoning mental abuse, but with these shows guys are allowed to be alot more candid. This happeneds in alot of sports and locker rooms because the measure for success is wins and losses and guys that win alot get away with alot more.
@@Hartwell10 everyone in the organization was impacted by this guy including hard working people in the concession stands for a decade and you don’t think his manager is responsible or accountable. You clearly lack life experience. This is old boys club toxic culture and holland is clearly part of the problem.
@@Hartwell10this has nothing to do with cancel culture. During the investigation they found out that Babcock asked a young player to come over for lunch. Once the player gets there he talks to him, asks him to look at his phone and proceeds to go through it. Never had lunch with the player, that's the incident they discovered during the investigation which happened away from the rink that led to him stepping down. This a grade A POS like Babcock not changing his ways.
I'm sure if you dig deep enough mike suffered some trauma when he was in his adolescents and teenagers years. The way he bullies his players and manipulates them phycology telling me that there's a underline issue with his behavior towards young men trying to become men... his repeating his own past into the. Future. He needs to go into an establishment for behaviour issues and psychological trauma from how s past.
What you describe tends to lead to drug problems, suicide, etc. This kind of thing usually falls under the “born this way” category. This is just who he is.
I love how all these players are coming out to trash Babcock. I wonder if they're looking at their cup rings or gold medals as they're trashing him. Throughout history the greats have always been eccentric and really hard to deal with, but you don't win 5 gold medals and a cup unless you have a brilliant hockey mind.
If you are saying Canada wouldn't have won if Babcock wasn't the coach then you are out to lunch. Those teams would have coached themselves to the gold medals.
i have been treated like garbage by a few bosses many of us have but its hard to pity an overpaid hockey player most of us work harder than nhl players but we dont get paid millions this story is a joke
true. in the grand skeem of things and not to take away from professional athletes who of course have worked hard and whatnot, the salaries they make vs the shit they can complain about is nuts. $750,000 is league minimum and for that alone, some of the petty complaints are just that. crazy world we live in. people busting their backs litterally for small fractions of league minimum salaries and yet guys playing a sport whining about social issues amongsth organizations. yes bullying is not acceptable anywhere but damn. these guys need to work on the jobsites alot of men their age work and receive their paychecks after two weeks of it, may humble them. and alot say well theres mors to it time, travel, prep etc however this makes me laugh as their set up in high rated hotels and restaurants, top of the line workout facilities and staff like c'mon.
you're a joke. How would you feel if your new boss asked to look into your phone? Fuck that noise. This isn't an isolated issue, this is a pattern of abusing his position of power. And the dick isn't that good of a coach to begin with.
@@stevehill934skeem? It's scheme you ponce. If you're going to write a novel, make sure you use proper English. You know, correct spelling and syntax and all that.
@@stevehill934I somewhat agree with you I've come under fire for somewhat defending Babs. And I really only defended his re-hiring and my main point was his record, the guy has coached 1300 games. That means GMs had 1300 games for them to fire him etc. Undoubtedly he had some negative qualities but In a game where you get paid to win it seemed management felt that the wins outweighed the bad. They are professionals and some coaches are really crazy like this in order to maintain order. There is a fine line between Babs and a guy like dion Sanders who is beloved, but by all accounts is an authoritarian and he cut the most people in college football history.
These Commy vs. Babcock stories are the best.
Commy was a cancer everywhere he went.
All I’m looking for rn
Haha yes - They are still funny after hearing them a million times!
I’m an Oiler fan…but the world just needs more Mike Commodore…he’s hilarious….more Commie please…
Some people like Ali v Fraser. Others Tyson v Holyfield. But my fav is Commodore v Babcock
agreed
120-108 on all three judges' scorecards for Commie
I always enjoy Commie's stories of Babcock being a scumbag.
Commy and Babcock need to lock up in a wrestling rink and get this on. Call Vince to set it up
I've been hearing these Babcock-sucker stories since 2018......how the "F" is Commy the only guy that's had the balls to call him out...in 5 years!?
Commie vs. Babs should be a sitcom!

Ohh God idk how this guy had the willpower to not punch babcock in the mouth 😂
Commodore for NHL President!
Why would any team hire this guy again. He will never change. Crazy 🤪
The gm and coach are always buddies. Columbus gm needs to go as well
It's awesome watching these interviews. Really makes you wonder which enablers the Blue Jackets talked to to make them think Cock was a changed man.

Rhett Warrener?! Heard he snorted all his money away lol
I could listen to Commie all day. F Babcock.
Great story, but complete bs how Babs treated people, karma got him in the end.
Mike, watch The RUclips interview of Ian white on Babcock. I would like you to do a podcast with Ian white he had run in with the law and Babcock.
Prima donnas don't even want to ride the bike. Should have just docked him pay.
How the foolish Leaf management hired Babcock is beyond me!

Typical cancel culture. Babs is a bad guy so let’s fire the guy who hired him 12 years ago lol... 👍 this has nothing to do with Ken Holland

Babcock only rides the bike with just the stem/no seat .

Cmon man the guy was a Bully , we all know these guys, you stand up to them and they pee their panties.
Quite helpful when you have the odds on favorite stacked & dominant teams.

Mike Babcock n OJ should host a podcast. Call it “ Get confident Stupid” Podcast
