I'm in Ohio, & I have been my entire life. I followed The Dayton Gems, The Dayton Bombers, The Columbus Chill, and The Columbus Bluejackets. I played hockey & I love hockey, and it breaks my heart to say this, John Davidson and Jarmo must step down immediately for the good of hockey in Ohio. They both fought for Babcock to get the coaching job and they were WELL AWARE of who he was, and how he worked They took him to the dog park (you know which park, the one with only small dogs) and they let him off leash and they watched it happen. No matter if you put the dog down or not, the owners still have to face the responsibility!
Two questions which the CBJ and major media outlets really adreess -, why didn't any of the players involve feel they could go to anyone IN the organization to express concern (including the current head coach) ANDl allows Babcock to RESIGN rather than be fired for cause/ unprofessional actions. They also gladly accepted the spin from Jarmo and Davidson not the have them disclose that the actions that occured away from the rink hasn't really been addressed which most likely led to the NHLPA investigation and firing.
@@sampicanoI don’t think it would be an overreaction based on Babcocks past. He’s already making weird requests/orders, and these guys know that if they don’t do what he says that he’s going to mess up their careers. They’re going to lose ice time, get bad references from Babs to every other team, etc. It’s good to nip that crap in the bud.
@@sampicanoyea but being professional is meaning you have boundaries. I think most of us in a public setting want to share little to nothing. Look when people share anything about politics or religion the LGBT stuff. If Babcock was looking at inclusion this is the opposite way to go. People share stuff when there is trust, and you earn trust by respecting peoples boundaries and giving space.
Yeah it’s extremely ignorant hiring a petty pos like Babs. Purposely benching Modano so he Couldn’t reach 1500 games is a purely duck move. If I’m a GM, I don’t want a cancer like that in the organization.
You would figure a player would say go FYS your not seeing my phone, but its the young players , trying to make the team he was doing it to, if its between you making the team your gonna hand your phone over no question.
With all due respect, have you not considered the very real possibility that Jenner and Goudreau had different meeting w Babs than rookies? To say either of them deserve any blame here is ridiculous. Even Biz on fully on record saying this exact thing. Leave the players, all of them, out of this.
Question now is who's next ? It's sadly unlikely there ain't another coach somewhere whatever the level who's being an unnecessary bully to players in position of lesser power or even some player doing some shady shit to teammates off the ice. Doesn't have to come from Spittin Chiclets again but massive kudos to Biz & Whitney for blowing that whistle and helping secure the way for others to try and get rid of those cancers.
If only somebody had the chance to tune up Babcock. My vote would be for Commie. Bullies like Babcock need to get theirs, he made his fortune and will present himself as a victim, like he did when the Leafs fired him. I agree with the boys, I hope the new coach does well, for the players and himself.
This sums up the problem with hockey today. Just a bunch of whiners. No accountability. Players that have accomplished nothing in their career going after a successful guy because he doesn't put up with losers
Exactly. It wasn't that bad. To use it against them or bully them is just speculation. It was weird. But not fireable. People did not like Babcock. Franzen, Commodore, Jeff O'Neil, these guys are very vocal about him. And a lot of people behind the scenes didn't like hm either, but would never admit it (they have no balls lol). So they just jumped on this lol, it's like middle school stuff but with grown ass NHLers instead of eleven year old girls.
Scum of the Earth. Doing ANYTHING for money. Jesus. What happened? He asked a guy to put pictures on Apple Airplay.... Pol Pot existed. What is your bar for scum of the Earth? I didn't like Babcock either but you people are stupid.
@@chrisandrews4927 You bought into it all hook line and sinker eh. Lol. Look up "Hockey Scandal's" , NHL players arrested" , Hockey Frosh charges" and on and on. I never liked Babcock, but this felt like when they fired Don Cherry for saying "you people" when referring to Russian players. People just didn't like him and wanted him to go. Same with Babcock. People were looking for any excuse to fire the guy and pile on him. And this was it. This didn't seem like a fireable offense, but it also feels like nobody in the media has a pair of balls big enough to admit the truth what really happened here. Just looking for any excuse to fire him. "Nobody liked the guy, that's why he got fired." Not for some lame airplay thing, save that for middle school. Grow a pair and admit the truth.
I'm sure all parties concerned were ready to sweep it under the carpet if not for Biz.
Bingo

OB!! You rock! From Kingston here, saying you are dead on about Babcock.

Imagine your boss asking to see pics on your phone in any job
Weird as hell.
Imagine him being fired for that, that would also be an overreaction.

Great take, boys.
****NO COACH should be allowed to see a hockey player's wife's nude pictures. That - should be a perk only for Season Ticket Holders*******
Well one thing is for sure, CBJ tickets will be nice and cheap on the aftermarket at least for the first couple months of the season.
Jarmo should be gone for hiring him in the first place. What young player was Scottie talking about?

Well there is another Mike Babcock in the NHL. He is Babcock's son, and he works for the Blues
So? Is he supposed to lose his job too? Maybe he's not like his father, ever considered that?
You would figure a player would say go FYS your not seeing my phone, but its the young players , trying to make the team he was doing it to, if its between you making the team your gonna hand your phone over no question.
Babcock never thought he needed to change so he was never going to. A person like him has no business having authority over other people's careers.
Hey Boys! How about Stammer, leaving Tampa for The Rangers! Good for him! Love the Show boys!
Pack your shit dude. And tuck off forever. What a classic Cee U Next Tuesday.

Why was Babcock asking to see their phones? What was he looking for? Partying? I don't understand...
To use it against them. He's a bully
To make them uncomfortable and establish power over them.
Under the guise of “getting to know ya” “let’s see what your into and your interests” that would and is the justification/rationale
Exactly.

Babs just wanted to see her cannons and their instagram shaved peckers and balls
Babcock himself cost him his job, not Biz
Babcock - this is narcissism. Violating boundaries. Glad he’s gone.
Just shows how sick and F'ed up hockey culture is. The skumm of the Earth doing anything for even the smell of money. 1 down, 200,000 to go.
Cringe comment, hockey people are some of the best people. Just because there's one dirtbag idiot doesn't mean everyone is scum.
