INCREDIBLE Brunei River Safari

  • Brunei is a small nation on the island of Borneo that is full of amazing sights. We took a river cruise through the mangroves in search of finding proboscis monkeys in the wild. From the river we could also see the Sultan's Palace and the MASSIVE water village. Brunei's water village is the biggest in the entire world. It's over 600 hundred years old and 30,000 people call it home. Seeing this vast community built on stilts was unreal. We got to stop in at one of the house's, which belongs to our boat driver's family, for a home-cooked meal of local food. Getting an inside view of one of these totally unique houses is something we'll never forget.

Glad to see you had a good time in Brunei. We Bruneians love to host and will go great lengths to make sure our guest are treated well. It's the least we can do to appreciate the effort they make to visit our tiny little country. Did you get to explore Temburong? If you haven't, you must come back again. To be able to feature the story of our country, it's such an honor for you guys to be able to travel through the Brunei River and dig thru into one of our eldest neighborhood of Bruneians. Really love your video shots and editings. Its just such an eye opening to us locals to see the backyard of some common house in Kampong Ayer to have such nice garden. Yes our river have vast things to explore actually, not only that it is also appreciable for you to been able to taste our local cookings and delicacies, what Bruneians enjoy eating and missed most when we are away. Yeah you also should take yourself on jungle trekking to our green forest eg Tasek Lama, Bukit Shahbandar, Sungai Buloh, and many more..Thanks again guys.

What a great video share. Thank you. I think seeing monkeys in the wild might be fairly unsettling to me especially if they congregate in groups and pick up sticks and rocks. I know, that doesn't really happen in the wild to the degree that my imagination might think. Honestly though, we do see a monkey in almost all your videos ..... JUST STOP IT!!! I'm just kidding Marc! My goodness, cant even take a joke. Seriously the huge water village is wonderful ... it was like you and Marc had climbed a ladder into a make believe world. How delightful!
