    Hello again everyone! I decided to remake my original DPS guide to cut out a lot of the dead time where I was pausing or setting stuff up, to provide a more tolerable and structured guide. I've also updated the time stamps to break down each individual topic so people can home in on exactly what they want to know without having to scroll through the entire video. Essentially I wanted to create a guide from the very basics of DPS from the beginning of the game all the way up to the end game to help people see how to reach those max damage hits and complete the hardest content in the game. Whether you are wanting to know exactly how buffs/breaking the enemy influences damage, how "typeless attacks" scale damage, interesting team synergies, or examples of them being used against "that" boss, you'll find something useful in this video about it! Hopefully you found this helpful! Enjoy.

    The one tip that really helped me a bit too late was the boss breaking one. I would always set up but then break too early and not get the 2 turns of damage, so when I had to do a replay of OT 1 to finally beat Galdera, I was constantly planning out breaks and it helped so much.

    Great vid. A few things i noticed in my attemps and eventual kill (using first method).
    1 - I don't think you mentioned to start the fight at night to start with Throne's darkness passive. Massive damage increase there.
    2 - Even though you can 'fix' turn 2 order with whimsical concoction it's feels still pretty reset prone. Must be Throne then Ochette before both Eye and Oswald to kill adds, break center, then nuke.
    3 - Sometimes the whimsical effect just moves some or one person, and not in a useful way.
    4 - If you see you'll need to use whimsical, you'll be down 1 BP on Castti to cleric divine Oswald next turn. Use Oswald's first 'dead' turn to give her at least 1 bp to cover this.
    5 - Since Temenos's job doesn't matter I threw on Inventor for fun thinking I might spring boots not-Hikari. My P2 damage was iffy and I suspect guaranteeing crits on the center (final) boss got me the kill on the last Lion attack.
    I didn't realize that there's still an attack power coefficient on Aeber's Reckoning so I went all speed and minimal attack and made many failed attempts casting Aeber's Wet Noodle.
    I had Oswald element attack 999 but was just shy of cap doing ~95k each hit. Still mostly there but idk how it could have been higher unless I missed another buff step/food.
    My Hikari damage was abysmal. Only 50-60k on each Lion hit. Only killed 2 of 3 arms first go.I somehow spent an entire turn cycle not getting killed and finishing the last arm off. Only ~850 attack w/ Lion Axe selected so I guess that last 150 stat really does work. Time to nut farm.
    Hikari was level 75. The rest averaged about 65 or so.
    Anyway, thanks again.

    • @DarrinNewcomer
      @DarrinNewcomer  Год назад

      Congrats on the kill! Yeah there is still a little RNG to the fight, and for the whimsical leaf, it will only effect Ochette if she went on turn 0 before Castti (it first looks at anyone on the current turn, then the next turn if they have already gone; I think it was the second kill where I mentioned it?). That being said, it’s possible for Ochette to go after Castti on round 1, but after the eye on round 2, which is basically the one time I would recommend to restart if your Throne can’t 1 shot it. It was always tough for me personally to balance keeping the video going versus giving an explaination for every possible scenario, so I likely could have done a better job with it. Thanks for providing this info for anyone who may read it and run into that problem!

    1) Are you just using shield of strength for the memes? As far as I know, it's a joke item that just makes you take guaranteed criticals.

    3) Is there a particular reason to use Master of Offense over Peak Performance when Critical Scope and Targeted Strike exist?

    • @DarrinNewcomer
      @DarrinNewcomer  6 месяцев назад

      Yes. It is a guaranteed ambush for whoever has it on. With the champions belt, it ensures that you always get a free turn before the first real turn of combat since you can't be ambushed if someone is using one. That, and it works on bosses, which normally can't ambush or be ambushed.

      There are various NPC’s (one for each piece of battle tested gear) that you can fight that have a very low chance of dropping multiple battle tested gear. The sword specifically comes from the high level NPC in the eastern village on the beast people island (it’s been a while since I’ve played, so I don’t remember the name of the town). It’s the “young man” npc that is shown as having a maxed difficulty when you try to duel him.

    Umh, i am atm in the final chapters of the last few characters, so my job combination are this:
    Temenos - Armsmaster
    I wanted kinda of a Paladin, atm even if i have the divine weapons he still can't dish out much damage but the fact that he can heal and do that sweet 6 hit shields it's so nice
    Ochette - Thief
    My go to for farming with her provoke, her damage is really good and the utility from both jobs is very nice, first character to break the 9999 barrier, the damage, utility of provoke and hunter/thief skills are a mix for a 10/10 unit
    Castti - Cleric
    I wanted to do big axe damage with her but in the end i really don't wanted to use her mix to heal, her roles are just to support, buff, heal and poisoning
    Oswald - Arcanist
    Oswald was my first character and i really liked the idea to have this ultra mage that can wield almost every element to be my magic dps
    Hikari - Hunter
    Testing him out atm, so far i like but i dunno if this a good secondary on him
    Agnea - Inventor
    Not much to say, op
    Throne - Warrior
    I saw many put this secondary on Ochette but her damage was already good and i liked more the fact that she was able to debuff herself the phy def of the enemy, for Throne tho, the combo with her lantent to aggro-revenge blade in one turn and crush shields+debuffs, man i love it and she can dish out very nice damage to!
    Partitio - Apothecary
    I really did not know what to with him but then i came to the conclusion that the bulk of his damage is in the hire support so i took the more supportive role, he can heal, donate bp and use the poison to tick the enemy health, atm he also has both spear and axe that do 1 extra hit to help with shields
    I also really like this job on Throne for the fact that she can set up in one turn the poison-weak to poison combo but the first one with warrior won my heart
    What do you think? Atm i only have 1 slot for secondary jobs and scholar, merchant and dancer really are the ones i feel no need to put on anyone XD i know that temenos pretty goos with it but the power fantasy of him as a full armor inquisitor that uses divine weapons and can crush 6 shields at once won my heart i also know that arcanist on hikari is broken but the power fantasy of Oswald with even more magic in his kit won XD

    • @DarrinNewcomer
      @DarrinNewcomer  9 месяцев назад +1

      So when it comes to team setups and synergies, there are so many good options to go with. I may not have used several of the combos you used, but your reasoning for a lot of them are really good. I'll just point out a few things that stood out to me:
      For Temenos, keep in mind that the elemental barrage accomplishes the same thing (and can potentially hit up to 8 times) if you have someone giving him BP. Armsmaster is actually good on so many characters that basically everyone can benefit from it. Most people use it for Lionhearts axe, since it can easily hit for double 99k on any physical damage dealer, but it's also good for magic users if you want to stack up 3 weapons that boost a single element. Using it to shred 6 shields with his latent is also good (and if you didn't already know, if you use the dancer divine skill on him, it hits ALL targets 6 times, meaning he can shred 6 shields off of everyone).
      For Hikari, he actually is the highest damage dealer in the game. A subclass that lets him use a staff is ideal so he can use a battle tested blade and giants club. When set up correctly, he can use a learned skill called "Limb from Limb" (go to sacred flame HQ, head left as soon as you enter, get into the room being blocked by a guard, then challenge the person in that room) and do a 4x99k hit, which can even be turned into a 5x99k hit using one of the abilities from another class that adds extra hits to physical attacks.
      For Castti, concoct is so broken that her secondary class doesn't really matter since it's much more useful to just refill everyone's BP every single round.

    • @Lionhart1991
      @Lionhart1991 9 месяцев назад

      @@DarrinNewcomer i think the problem with my paladin are those divine weapons, those stats are not the best and you really don't need all those skills, i think i am gonna upgrade most of theme and yes, with a dancer he is even more broken!
      Yeah castti it's just a gigachad XD
      For Hikari, so hunter sub will leave his damage potential to the dust?

    • @DarrinNewcomer
      @DarrinNewcomer  9 месяцев назад

      @@Lionhart1991 No, Hunter Hikari doesn't ruin his damage. Literally the only thing he can't have is the giants club, but until you have that, any subclass that boosts his damage is great. The giants club gives a 30% boost to all physical attacks, and since Hikari has the highest physical damage potential, it's usually best to go on him. That being said, he still does a lot of damage even without it if you want to use it on someone else. The game isn't really set up where you have to go super meta optimal, so it's not like it's necessary or anything.
      And for the divine weapons, yeah most of them aren't great. If you're doing Temenos with them, I'd be using things that boost his light damage and E attack.

      @@DarrinNewcomer love it! Yeah I paused the vid when ochette was going and picked up those ones. I like the idea of the ocean lizard king to fill in the laziness of me not trying to capture the cait you had in there lol

      @@rawrrawrface honestly, I just cooked up the cait. He isn’t necessarily bad, but he is entirely RNG since you don’t know what he will do. I’ve had situations where I’m like “ok, I want some buffs on my team”, then he heals my full health team 6 times in a row. I feel regular monsters that do exactly what you want are better overall.

    How do you have multiple battle tested items? Other than the shield that you can get from the guard, where are you getting all these battle tested blades, daggers, and so on???

      There are various NPC just like the shield that you can fight for a low drop chance on them

      @@DarrinNewcomer literally after leaving this message, I found the NPC, and had the Blade within 30 min. Still, I wish I could fully understand the mechanics better. I just don't get the turn set, or even how to set them up. My guys are all in the 80's and 90's, with all the gear (except the Battle tested) and they don't do near as much damage. I can't figure out where I am dropping the ball. Oh well, I'll figure it out one day I suppose...

      @@briscoetravel it could be a number of reasons, but even just not having the battle tested blade you’re missing out on a 30% damage boost on all physical skills. There’s also the giants club, which gives another 30%, then after that it comes down to accessories and support skills, assuming you are making sure to buff/debuff appropriately while breaking the enemy as demonstrated in the video

    where do you grind from lvl 70 to 99?

    • @DarrinNewcomer
      @DarrinNewcomer  11 месяцев назад +1

      I personally did it at the dungeon under the “beneath the wall” place (for some reason I can’t remember the name of the dungeon itself, but it’s accessed from “beneath the wall” on the world map). I put on everything that boosted XP and rare encounters, and anytime I found a cait or the dreadwolf, I would use Alrond until he gave me the 100 XP (or load a save if he didn’t before running out of summons).

    New challenge. No items? What if we dont have 30 jams?

      @DarrinNewcomer  Год назад

      Are you asking for killing the super boss? You could just go farm the jams, but you don’t need a ton of them. I think I only used like 5 of them in the level 55 guide, which is better to go off of if you just are wanting to kill the boss.

    Why don’t you use limb for limb on hikari?

    • @DarrinNewcomer
      @DarrinNewcomer  Год назад +1

      It depends on the situation. Limb from Limb only becomes good once your Hikari has really high stats and a good DPS setup. When normally fighting the boss, I do use Limb from Limb since it can one turn phase 1 or phase 2, but Lionhearts Axe has a much higher base damage per hit and is much easier to hit for double 99k. Lionhearts is initially better than Limb from Limb until Hikari becomes strong enough to do over 50k per hit using it, then Limb from Limb becomes the better option since it isn’t limited to only 2 hits, but since it’s base damage per hit is much lower, it’s much less likely the average players Hikari will be doing enough damage for it to hit for over 200k, which means Lionhearts will be better for them to use.
