They missed the mark with this one. 150 challenges isn't much when it's just "get the mushroom" Needs like over a 1000 challenges. And remixed challenges was the whole appeal of the original NES remix which is missing. Agree.
There going to update this or add dlc
The biggest draw is not so much the number of challenges but the weekly online competition with 5 rotating challenges. There's still a lot of variety picking 5 challenges from 150. If it sells I'm sure they will support it with (free) DLC to add more challenges.
I feel like this game could be really cool if it was free in NSO. On its own, it feels kinda pointless

And that is exactly what is wrong with this fanbase. They always expect more from Nintendo.
The issue really just is the price. For $30, I expect at least what I got in NES Remix 1/2/Ultimate. Not less.

I would hope they do some sort of Treehouse or event around this title, I mean if they really want to sell it as a Championship game why not have an actual Championship to promote it?
This would have been great if it mixed up all the generations of Nintendo. A made up Nintendo Championship for each console generation NES, Super Nintendo, N64, GameCube, and Wii with 5 -10 games from each to do challenges with. That would be worth full price.

Nintendo knows there are a lot of older old school gamers that have a switch so that’s why this is a thing. I’m interested. I like the NES games but are hard to play sometimes because there’s no guidance? This makes it more fun to play NES games
I already have NSO, don't see a reason why I would need a challenge mode.
I like the concept, it looks fun. But it should've been a NES best of, I feel.

@@PikachuLover0927 I think they mean that the "remix" part - taking existing games and changing them in meaningful ways (such as the example brought up in the video of putting Kirby in Super Mario Bros to make it control and play completely differently) - is missing from this game
@@C_Yo true. That isn’t a part of this. With that being said, this is different but it has a similar idea with the mini games/challenge of doing a specific objective in a certain amount of time.
I grew up with the NES so I'll be grabbing it but I don't see this being that big but I'm sure there are more details to come out we don't know about
I'm actually very hyped for this!! My dad loves NES era Nintendo and is interested in getting the physical edition. I'd love to have a fun party game to play with my dad :)
I am kinda shocked at some of the negativity coming out around this. I think this looks great. Oh well, I got in my preorder and am excited.
I understand what your saying but we don’t know all the Challenges you have to do since they basically just show some of them that are easy to explain the concept of the game. I don’t agree that this game being 30$ is Overpriced because it’s a collection of 13 games that have a lot of replay value. I kinda agree about the NSO part but it’s not a big deal for me since you don’t actually play the entirety of the games, you just play some parts of them like NES Remix. They announced it because it’s not supposed to be a big game and if they would have save that for the Direct next month, it would have been Overshadowed by other games that are more big than this. As for me, i think Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition is looking fun and i’m excited for it
To me I'm very excited to get my hands on Nintendo world championship: nes edition. Both digital and physical version. When I watch the trailer it reminds me of nes remix on Wii U and 3DS. I thought Nintendo release nes remix to switch but I still take it. Also to me $30 sound good price to me.
I'm probably gonna get the deluxe edition just for the extra stuff and FINALLY a good 8 player game to point at

Pass for me. Maybe if the full games were on the cart. Will wait for mario party superstar dlc nintendo on this one.
They really should have added more games like Punch out and Clu Clu Land and also added some Japan exclusives like Joy Mech Fight, Devil World or The Mysterious Murasame Castle. Well, at least those games and more are available in the NSO NES app so I don't have to bother with this release only focused in competitive gameplay.

I think there's a chance this game is part of an actual championship in June before its official release for the public, they've done it before with Smash Ultimate being part of a tournament before it released if I'm not mistaken.
They are really just throwing random stuff out there to kill time until switch 2

This era currently feels like a cycle lol 2016 they release nes classic then they revealed switch in the fall. Then release switch march 2017
This summer nes championship then switch successor possibly this fall to be revealed then release march 2025
Does anyone know if this game will be available permanently or is this gonna be the same as Super Mario 3D All Stars availability?
They even included The Lost Levels (Super Mario Bros. 2 Japan)!
Just seems like a budget wario ware with how short the challenges are
it's a fun release but it's a pass for me... not a big fan of bite sized timed trials and the game seems way too short... but the physical collector's edition looks dope, better act fast scalpers going to have a field day with that...
What's good with this is that people who aren't interested into going to the competitive scene but like watching it can do it without the time investment needed to be good. It's also not every day Nintendo does a speedrun game.
It looks like Nintendo is 💩 ing out shovelware to meet their quota of 1 Nintendo game per month.
Then how come they didn't release anything in April?

It’s a new era they could’ve done a Nintendo world championships gameboy edition or something more unrealistic ds edition. People who love nostalgia and want the deluxe version will probably buy it but it’s not gonna sell well overall I feel like.
The pricing from Nintendo doesn't surprise me. Until the speculation market made collecting old games way too expensive, many past NES digital re-releases cost more than getting an actually NES cartridge of them from a 2nd hand seller.
Skipping hard, what I liked the most from NES remix were the remixes, I'm less interested in just straight up nes challenges
I think it has the potential to provide a similar experience to Super Mario Bros. 35 for a bunch of other NES games, but we just haven't seen enough of it yet. Maybe that's just wishful thinking, though.

If they did like levels where you complete against other people to see who finishes the level first and have a 1,2,3,4 finish system deal, that to me would be much better and more awesome than this. Just small parts of an NES game where you try to finish faster than other person, just doesn't seem all that great in the scheme of things.

As i pointed out last time, these kinds of videos would work better if one person was on the side of thinking this is overpriced, and the other was not. Then the resulting debate would be interesting. Instead, since both of you agree on almost everything it makes this video pointless. Sadly, i fear this isnt the last time they do this.

And it's only onsided among them, with said side being the minority opinion anyway if social media impressions are any indication. This makes it even more needed to get a dissenting voice to represent the majority.

The game seems like WarioWare mixed with NES games. Interesting concept, but I personally don’t care about NES games enough.
This announcement is both cool and disappointing at the same time. Rereleasing this NES Remix collection in an updated form with revised challenges for a new audience makes this work and worth playing. As someone who has both NES Remix 1 and 2 (which have more games and unique challenges and modes), this new game does nothing for me. If this was a SNES or GB/GBC Remix or this new game was releasing at a much lower price (~$15) I would have been on board.
Eh! Not the hugest game to release, but looks cool enough, will still pick it up at a discount. I don’t think Nintendo is expecting to sell millions of copies of this game.

People are going to set the top records within minutes of this game releasing making the whole competition aspect pointless. Anyone who doesn't buy this game on day one will have no chance of ranking on any leader board.

I agree with what you are saying up to a point. If I recall the original downloads for the two NES Remix games didn't cost this much though.

Bet you’re not telling people who “love” it the same thing, “can’t judge before it’s out”. Also, you don’t need to wait, there’s plenty of info about it already. All these games are on NSO, and there’s no mention of the NWC challenge with Rad Racer and Tetris. So what’s the point? Why call it after NWC, and even have a guy from the 90’s one in the ad, when you don’t even have it? Even NSO has Tetris. Square Enix owns Rad Racer and they’re on good terms so I doubt there would be an issue there. If you analyze what’s been shown rather than go off hype, you’d see these things. And it’s not like there’d be a reason to “hide” it as a surprise… given the name and replica cart is clearly trying to appeal to that/those events.
@mrshmuga9 You're completely missing the point of this game. If you want to play those original NES games with no changes whatsoever, then look elsewhere. The point of this game is to be a sequel to NES Remix Pack on the Wii U, which was basically WarioWare but with classic NES games.

That's the thing, these aren't changed either! lol. It's stuff like "getting the mushroom quickly" or "reaching the gate in metroid". Actions you could literally do (and would've done) in the original as is. All they did was add an on-screen timer, rather than you using a timer on your phone.

Just because it’s “only $30” doesn’t mean it has enough to justify it. Like, if you have NSO, you literally have all these NES games and more, and can do these challenges yourself. This just happens to have a timer to make it easier to track. Don’t need to spend $30 on a whole game just to collect 5 coins in 20 seconds.
