- Опубликовано: 11 окт 2024
- Taiyaki is a classic Japanese street food! Taiyaki are fish shaped sweet pancakes with various fillings, served warm straight off the grill. Common Taiyaki fillings include sweet red bean paste, cream, matcha, chocolate, and caramel, but there are many more.

So, I could say tons of stuff about, how I love Taiyaki. But what what I love the most in this video is the old lady!!! So, if you travel the countryside of japan, this might happen very often, that japanese People, especially older ones give you food, snacks or some kind of gifts, but that it still happens in Tokyo is sooooo amazing! I travel a lot, always mixing countryside and metropolitan areas in many countries, but “only in japan” things like this still happen... I looove Japan ❤️❤️❤️
I don't know why I watch these videos when I'm hungry *cri*
+Tsunayoshi Sawada i cri every time
+Tsunayoshi Sawada It's like watching Guy Fieri videos before dinner. T_T
+Elz tiem*
I don't know why I laughed hard suddenly seeing tsuna's name lol
Ahh I've always wanted to try taiyaki!
Come back I'll take you!!!! :D
@@heyitssharla are you still in Japan? I'm going to Tokyo soon . Can you show me this awesome delicious food?
Omigosh Japanese people are so sweet!! Even Canadians wouldn't be able to compete ;) (I used to live in Canada)
America is the safest country
Jk
+goku Ssjgssj4 Lol said no one ever.
+Daria Morgendorffer DARIA
weeaboo
+Daria Morgendorffer Well, Sharla is Canadian.
omg fml the entire time i was in japan i always wanted to try one of those but not THAT badly, so i never bothered to. Now I live a life of regret.
Did you get your profile picture in kyoto?
+Code Provider I just had a Taiyaki in NYC but these look much better.
+Code Provider Get back to your One Piece reviews, Code! STOP THINKING ABOUT FOOD!!! Now I am fucking hungry... jk
+sho Where the hell did you have it in NYC??
+Quack Dragon yep
I love watching these kinds of videos Japan is such a cute place!
I LOVE TAIYAKIII!! I ate it when i went to japan
that caramel one looks so gooooddd really want to try it if i go to japan againnn
I envy you because you jave go to Japan
Taiyaki is actually the street food that I want to try the most from Japan. They are just so cute, and they look sooo yummy!! Love this video!
OMG i LOVE taiyaki especially the vanilla flavour in the the taiyaki!
The elderly lady was so kind! If I meet people like that and they give me something, I always try to give something back in return. Gotta share the love and happiness!
yummy!! we have taiyaki vendor in s.f. Japan town!! I love getting it
that and imagawayaki
+Michael Nibbi Jealous! My hometown needs one! :D
+Sharla in Japan victoria has two?... II think places that has it but nowhere that specializes in it sadly
+tristan15ish Really!? Where?
Sharla in Japan during the Sakura Matsuri they have street vendors with all kinds of amazing food. Imagawayaki I only get during San Jose's Obon Odori. I've been getting it since I was really young
Taiyaki is one of my favorite foods in Japan, I absolutely love it! Especially with the classic anko filling ~ :)
I laughed a little, "Yankee candle!? What is that???" hahaha. Do most people not know the yankee candle company?? I'm from Massachusetts, near where it was originally created so I guess its not surprising that everyone knows it where Im from. lol
taiyaki is so good ! you should try the syrup glazed ones too in tokyo!
I teared up at the sweet old lady part.... Japan is so welcoming, my heart can't take this much. :')
I really want to go to japan but it seems so complicated for me. Visa and stuff and sighhh I'm not giving up though. Hoping i can go there and live there when i grow up
+Andrea Andaya If you really want to go, then the process of getting a visa won't stop you ;) If you're not American you could try it with a work and travel visa
+Rock Lee I will keep that in mind! Thank you very much 💛
+Deanna Carrier Oh really? Wow, i will look into that! Thank you very much 💛💛💛
+Deanna Carrier ah a wild Deanna appears. Also depend on what country you are from you can get a 1 year working holiday visa and it renewable for 6 months unl3ess your Australian you can renew for another year. I don't think American can get it though.
+Andrea Andaya We went to Tokyo for 3 days last December. It was our first time and it was amazingly easy. So many things are in English, and people working in restaurants, hotels and trains frequently speak some English. Just do some research before hand on the trains/subways and sights to see and you will do fine. And you will love it like we did!
I JUST finished watching the video where you said "Full video about this later."
I GUESS ITS LATER! SHARLA MARATHON! Wooo
ありがとうございました〜^^
That old lady was so sweet ! If it was me instead of you I probably would have cried :')
(That wouldn't happen in France tho x))
Now I want to try taiyaki
Hi Sharla, your posts inspire me to voyage back to Japan. They are just the right balance of information and cuteness. Currently googling Taiyaki in my city so I can find a place to devour these tasty pockets of awesome.
I love Matcha! I need to try those taiyaki when I go again to Japan
Taiyaki!! That’s my favorite!!
There is Special flavor Taiyaki in Ikebukuro, I just tried strawberry soy milk taste, and chili 🌶 it was so good!!😆 so if you love Taiyaki, try their Taiyaki, you will love it🐡
old lady stranger of the year award goes to...
I like how positive your videos are. Thanks for sharing!
Have you had the croissant ones? They're heavenly!
Not yet!!! Really wanna try them 😻
+Sharla in Japan There is a shop on Meguro-gawa that sells "croissant taiyaki". So at the next hanami there :)
+Sharla in Japan Do you eat the Taiyaki when it's still warm, or do you eat it when it's cold?
aw that little old lady coming up to you guys and buying you snacks! how sweet!
If you live in Toronto there are a few places that have Taiyaki. Near Bloor and Christie there's a Korean super market and they have great Taiyaki. There's also a small Chinese shop near Dundas & Spadina that also makes Taiyaki.
+hasen195 there's one at P.A.T mart in Mississauga (very close to the kipling subway station) that sells taiyaki and croissant taiyaki!
the croissant taiyaki is a new thing and it tastes much better in my opinion. THe one I tried in Tokyo had crystallized sugar on the outside and sdkljg it was so good
refrijita In Tokyo I didn't find the regular Taiyaki; it was all the croissant variety which I didn't actually like.
really? I couldn't find the croissant variety very easily. I could find regular ones cooked to look like the croissant type, but I didn't actually find croissant taiyaki made from actual croissant until i ended up in Harajuku.
There's a place in j-town that sells it,too
+refrijita my mistake, what I'm talking about is not made from croissant, but from puff pastry. Its texture is crunchy and that's why I didn't like it much
Enjoy the videos ,and the information about the culture of japan. keep up the great videos sharla in japan.
何か最後のほうは日本の下町風景の日常ぽくてほっこりするね。
I've wanted to go to Japan for a long time to experience the food. It is all so unique!!
I LOVVVEEE TAIYAKI!! especially red bean and matcha flavored ones :-)
I miss the street food soo much. I loved the festival street food too. Used to go around Kokura during their Gion all the time with my wife. Havent been able to go back to Japan much though
Macha Taiyaki FTW! I used to get those in SF Japan Town all the time growing up!
My second favorite is Taro flavour =)
Mmm, looks delicious! Now I'm hungry!
Great video as always, Sharla, even though I've never been, you always seem to make me love Japan more each day!
I love taiyaki! It's so good... It's normally really filling though.
Omg! they look so tasty i could sit there and eat for hours, lol.....Cool to see you and Jenny hang out !
I want to have that old lady as my third grandma, so kind ^^
Oh my god I just needed to state the fact that your skin is AMAZING. There isnt a single blemish!! I'm going through a bit of an acne phase so whenever I see such a good skin complexion I'm in awe. Good for you !
For health reasons I will likely never travel to Japan. Your videos are such a blessing to me, seeing and experiencing a place such as this. Thank you
My Mom also can't travel for health reasons. I'm happy to share some of the beautiful parts of Japan with you guys
you rock. I hope that your mom remains well. I have a youtube also, where I share my experiences. Lesliescancerconfessions. Thank you for being so kind and responding to my post.
Leslie Bowlus cut.
I visited Japan less than a month ago and I miss it so much, especially the food! Everytime I saw Taiyaki I had to get it, it's too delicious to resist!
Japanese people are so nice
Haha, not really XD
what a racist coment
I love your videos. Thank you for sharing your experiences in Japan.
Taiyaki reminds me of Ayu from Kanon. Uguu!
omg samee *cries*
that's literally the only reason I clicked on this video xD
I know! The whole video I was fangirling because of that :)
Oo goo
yo tambien ,
During my stay in Tokyo I had one with red bean paste and chestnut. After I have seen your video I want the one with peanuts. This sounds to good.
I want to visit Japan so badly!
I had the bean ones when I was ok exchange! It was my host families favourite food!
The ones we had were a bit thinner and I had the bean one almost every time! I loved them!
Did you ever try the croissaint taiyaki place in Kichijooji? (amazing filling)
- Its nearby Kaldi Coffee there. Great video! ^^
Japanese subtitles already? So fast! I was going to do it...
I love taiyaki. The traditional red bean paste with soy milk cream is the best so far,
Aw thanks Yoshi! I had some time this morning so I finished them before posting it *^^*
Sharla in Japan
Glad it was done by you. I'm always sensitive to the "tone" of the translated version that I think should reflect your original delivery.
How I wish this food came to America (in place more than gigantic cities)
Looks extremely tasty, i just can't wait to get to Japan. Awesome people and awesome tradition. And these people are so nice!!!
Taiyaki caramel 😱😍 take my money!!! ❤
I've had one of these in Montreal, during the Matsuri Japon Festival! They had 2 varieties: Red Bean or Chocolate!
I want to go to Japan right now
I haven't had taiyaki in years ... I miss it so much I can't get it in Southern California anymore. I'm from Okinawa but I came to the U.S. When I was 6 so I haven't been home in 20 years. I love watching your videos it reminds me of home :)
ここのたい焼きはすごく分厚いですね!
あんもたっぷりで美味しそう。
Ozasa's Monakas that old lady gave you were my family's favorite for more than 30 years😊
Thumbs up for that old lady!!!
Went to a kurikoan store in Kagurazaka because of your video. It was sooo good! Thank you!
I'm going crazy because I really want to try it lol
I love taiyaki, it's one of my favorite street foods! These looks so good, especially the matcha one. That was so nice of that lady! Japanese people, man, I tell you.
My fav!
I got to try taiyaki once at a fair in LA ^.^ there was a bunch of booths that served Japanese street food! I got chocolate and cream ones. And they do taste like pancakes!
how would you order something like this in japanese? would it be 'flavor' 'amount' and then onegaishimasu?
+sora kun Yes! Exactly! For example.... "maccha futatsu onegai shimasu!"
+Sharla's Life ♡ Thanks! Im planning on going to japan next October so I want to be prepared for everything haha ^-^
Hi! my name is Miliana, hope you get to see this, i just wanted to say thanks, it's always been one of my dreams to go to Japan, but because personal reasons haven't got the chance to go, I want to thank you because your 2 channels in RUclips are the closest thing for me to see and experience Japan, so thank you so much Sharla you are awesome, thank you for giving your time to all the viewers and let us experience Japan with you, greetings from Puerto Rico 😊😸💜✌🌙
I believe Sharla san already ate Japanese food so much than me. :P

I love that place so much xD It's too close to my house...I go way too often xD
Taehyung!! Hi army
Mmmm sounds like the perfect snack 😋
The matcha one sounds really Good!!!
I just wanna go to japaaaan 😩😍
My hubby bought my a taiyaki skillet for my birthday, a few years back. I still make taiyaki every once in a while through out the year. My first ones I made (I got one of the original recipes online) was the red bean paste one and it was so good. Usually for my kids, I make jelly and jam ones. Also, I have got the reese's peanut chocolate cream and put it in them... and they were sooo good. :)
Anyways, thank you for sharing this. Those taiyaki you were having, with your friend, looks so divine! ^^
she has a lovely voice
thanks for always making such a interesting video, Sharla!!!
Taiyaki is soo yummy!!😊😊😊😊
I love that taiyaki!! I had it almost every weekend when I used to live in Kihchijyoji! My favourite is the cream one! yum!
Taiyaki is so Yami!
I see what you did there xD
+Lia Grammer have you seen to love ru? yami 'golden' darkness is a character and she loves taiyaki. it's the only food she eats
+Lil Paya
LOL when you go buy taiyaki and you see yami there ..... say hi for me!XD
I love Tayaki
I got to try Taiyaki for the first time on my recent trip to Japan! I'd been twice before but had never seen them anywhere. My Airbnb host brought us two as a welcome to Waseda snack - but these were croissant Taiyaki! Sharla, if you get a chance to try them you have to! They're so crispy on the outside but fluffy in the inside! There was an anko and a custard flavour and both were delicious. Also, I watched a movie on the flight home called 'An' and it was about a Dorayaki shop, which I also recommend (but it was really sad :"( ).
These look like Anime Taiyakis. Awesome. @_@
Haha!!! Omg, your reaction to the matcha flavored one is off the charts! Haha! Can't wait to try one when I visit Tokyo in March :)
Was the lady right about the red bean paste? XD
Red bean paste is always better 😸
awwwww i got a bit teary-eyed when the old lady brought you the snacks! ^_^

That lady at the end made my night! So nice of her
Those really do look amazing. They are so fluffy. Wish I could have one.
I love taiyaki! It's hard to find in the states, but I'm so happy when I see them at festivals. Next to mochi, my all time favorite sweet treat!
Thanks for visiting my home town. The Monaka you got from the old lady has history.
Sharla loves her pancakes and waffles. Original Pancake House, Waffle restaurant in Harajuku and now this place. if your subscribers could send you a virtual Christmas present, a lifetime supply of pancakes and waffles would do the trick!
So glad that a few places in the US have this. thanks
I LOVE matcha flavored things, my mom says that it tastes like hay, but I love it. I really want to got to Japan.. I also loved it as a kid, sadly I am not 18 yet.
Just looking at the imo flavor had my mouth watering! Ahhh this was so fun to watch!
Caramel and cheesecake both sound amazing!
Yay! 😀 your tokyo tours are the best kinds
你好 Sharla!! Taiyaki looks yummy. I can't wait to come to Japan and try out some of the places you suggest.
