  • This is the first tutorial I've recorded using my iPhone - see the Introduction video to hear how I did it.
This tutorial shows you how to record and play back a performance on the Genos using the Record MIDI feature.
See GENOS REFERENCE MANUAL, Section 5 for full details.
Please let me have any question or suggestion to improve things and I'll answer any questions (if I can) and take on board your comments for the next tutorial.
If there is anything in particular you wish me to cover in a future tutorial then comment about that also.
    Thanks.

I'm a total newbie and would like some help with creating registrations, I get a bit lost with the different banks. Also Anthony can you get a bit more volume on your talking voice for those of us with hearing issues. Alan

You did not explain how to stop the MIDI blue button. It will stay on blue until you press the record again then select the STOP button on the screen then press EXIT. It took my ages to work out how to get rid of the lit up blue button. Dennis.

Hi I thought I would ask ChatGPT about MIDI and audio files and here's what I got back - hope it helps - Title: Unlocking the Secrets of Music Technology: A Beginner's Guide to MIDI and Audio Files
Hello music enthusiasts! Today, we're delving into the fascinating realm of MIDI and audio files. Whether you're a seasoned musician or just someone who loves to listen, understanding these concepts can deepen your appreciation for the music you adore. So, let's embark on this enlightening journey together.
First off, let's demystify MIDI. MIDI, or Musical Instrument Digital Interface, is essentially the language that musical instruments and computers use to communicate. It's not about the sound itself, but rather the instructions that tell a device which notes to play and how to play them. Think of it as the conductor guiding an orchestra-it's the invisible force behind the music.
Now, onto audio files. When you listen to your favorite song on your phone or computer, what you're really hearing is an audio file. These files capture the actual sound waves-the vocals, instruments, and every subtle nuance-that make up the music we love. They're like snapshots of musical moments frozen in time.
But here's where it gets interesting: MIDI and audio files often work hand in hand. MIDI serves as the blueprint, guiding the performance, while audio files are the end result-the actual music you hear. It's like the difference between sheet music and a live concert. MIDI lays out the notes, and audio files bring them to life.
Now, why should you care about MIDI and audio files? Well, understanding these concepts opens up a world of possibilities for both musicians and listeners alike. With MIDI, you can create your own music, experiment with different sounds, and even collaborate with other artists-all without needing a physical instrument. And with audio files, you can explore the intricacies of your favorite songs, dissecting each element to uncover the magic behind the music.
So, whether you're a casual listener or a passionate musician, MIDI and audio files offer a deeper understanding of the art form we all love. They're the behind-the-scenes heroes, shaping the music we cherish and bringing it to life in ways we never imagined.
So, the next time you press play on your favorite track, take a moment to appreciate the technology behind the music. Because in this digital age, MIDI and audio files are the unsung heroes of the musical world, enriching our lives one note at a time.

    Hello.
On my Genos, in Audio multi Recording, I used to save my music easily on my USB key. Today, I can't save anymore. I do Menu, then Export and at the top of the screen I find Cancel, New Folder and Export again. I no longer have Save here.
Do you know how to recover this function?
    Thanks

Hi I'm sorry I've never used multi recording for audio - I do most of my work in MIDI and then just use "quick" audio recording from the MIDI file.
