Great video! You saved me hours of frustration with trying to remove the door panel and lock mechanism. Never having done this job before, it took me about 3 hours start to finish. I saved a bundle on labor. The door you worked on is the passenger side, not the side that has the key lock cylinder. Im in the U.S. and I had an additional part for the lock cylinder that looked like it was just a guide tunnel to get the lock tab into the lock motor mechanism. Since I didn't see it until it fell out, I had no idea how to get it back in. Since I had the door panel off, it was easy to just reach in and guide it by hand, but if it has to be replaced in the future, I'm pretty sure the panel will have to be removed. In the U.S. you can find parts diagrams and parts by just doing a Google search for Audi parts. I looked around and got the part for $280 including shipping. I agree with you to use genuine Audi parts for something like this. The Amazon and eBay parts might be cheaper, but dubious quality. THANKS AGAIN !!!!!
Hi great video can you tell me if these new locks have to be recoded back to the car? As I’ve watched your video which is brilliant and was going to have a go at replacing a new lock
Amazing video thanks.Unfortunately I don't have the time and tools to do it.Where about are you located and how much do you charge for this service? Thanks
Hi Great Video one question did you buy part from audi ?or what is your opinion on parts for sale on ebay checked audi for part £200 where as parts on line start at 25 -40 quid thanks
Hi Excellent video, will attempt very soon. Just a question on the a5 convertible, do you have an idea how the rear quarter chrome trims are removed this is the part number for one side 8F0853763D ? Many many thanks Jamie
Hey! Nice video. I'm having a simillar problem with my S5 v8 -09 however mine is stuck in locked... Any advice on how to change it when you can't open the door?
Hi, great video! Wonder if you could help me. Thieves pulled out the driver's side lock cylinder on my 2010 Audi S5 (4.2 V8), then were disturbed before they could do any more damage (or nick the car). Otherwise, the door works perfectly well using the fob. Watching your video, I reckon I can fix it myself, but after hours of searching I cannot find where to buy the lock cylinder from (it's the first part you remove in your vid). Could you point me in the right direction please? I would be most grateful.

My passenger door handle doesnt work but still locks. Will this process of changing the door lock and cable be similar on an s5? I want to do nit myself because getting it repaired at the garages is too costly.

Why did you remove the door lock cylinder? It's not connected to the actuator. I can see in my car it's not connected to anything, do some models have an actuator with an extra part for connecting to the key cylinder for unlocking with a key? I wish mine had as all I have is the plastic spare key which is useless if the car is locked.
Hello, thanks for the video. My old actuator was locking the door only with the key and I replaced it with a new one, but still central locking is not working and I couldn't lock the car with the key, so I put back the old actuator, but now I can't lock it even with the key. My car is audi a5 b8.
@@sexy11legs Hi, my problem was that the slot for the fob key was pushed forward and my key was loose.. the car was thinking that the fob key is inside the slot and that's why my central locking was not working. All I did is i put my finger and pulled the plastic and that fixed the problem.. I didn't have any codes tho. If you have this issue try that.
Hello, I’m trying to remove the door handle on a 2014 rs5 but the screw to remove the handle is snapped from being over tightened. How can I remove the door handle?
Hi, I have the same car and same issue. I was going to just follow your video and try do it myself but I have been told by Audi that it won't work after installation as it needs to be electrically coded to the cars central locking system, is this the case? If that is the case, is that for new parts only? And would a second hand used part work? Thanks.
@@CabrioletTech Ok thanks. It's the Left Passenger side Door Lock Actuator that I think is the issue. And the same doors window won't go back up, so I think that's the Window Regulator. Think I'll have to pay someone to fit that as told it's hard to replace and has to be calibrated to lift the window. Thanks for your answer.
