    Does the end of the crankshaft have any mark to know if it is in the correct position before placing the new chain? to verify that the engine is on time?

    • @bartomiejkapczynski3194
      @bartomiejkapczynski3194  2 года назад +1

      No, you don't need it. You check only when the piston is on the top position.

      @@bartomiejkapczynski3194 ok, can i see that the piston is at the top from where the spark plug goes? and which of the four pistons should be on top? Thanks

      @@miguelvite6029 you kan look thru spark plug socket. 1st cylinder came from right hand side. But it's enough if you follow the movie. You just make sure yourself when you look thru spark plug 😉

    Do you know how i can find TDC mark on crankshaft? BMW K1300s. The cylinder head was broken, timing chain replaced :(

    • @bartomiejkapczynski3194
      @bartomiejkapczynski3194  2 года назад +1

      TDC is top dead centre, remove spark plug, then you check where is top for each cylinder 👍

      @bartomiejkapczynski3194  3 года назад +2

      Up to you, I did it when K1200r had about 65000km, I heard the chain noise, and the engine has all the time 1st generation tensioner (the flat one-the bad one).

    Great video, but K1200LT engine is totally different. This does not apply on it.
