Nice work Samuel, you really brought fun and life into the tech reviews. The fact about making phone dim enough when bringing kids to sleep is so relatable. It makes me want to switch from iPhone 15 pro to 16 pro now that they are able to dim the display to 1 nit. Please test this when you review the phone if you ever did
You can easily do this using the "Reduce white point" feature on the 15 pro in accessibility settings. Setting "Reduce white point" to 100% will be about the same as the 16 pro's 1 nit.
Xiaomi Have that Feature since 2019 what you gonna do is open play stre and type hidden setting for miui or activity launcher and they give hidden settings of your phone beucause xiaomi uses different OS in some countries if you buy from china you will get CN OS if you get from Europe You have 2 options device is normally came with Global (MI) OS and you can install EU OS this will open up all feautres of phone and removes all blootware and ads. you can close the ads but it is hard to find. Thanks For Reading This Comment
As a heavy user of features, Samsung's UI still pulls me towards it. Xiaomi is great but if they can match or do better in this department, I may go for it.
I searched on Hyper OS and yes, it has Extra Dim. It also has a menu if you press the Extra dim button and you can customize it the way that you want. I mean how Extra dim you want. Greetings from Mexico City Mexico 🇲🇽
Yes there's a way to dim the screen, I have a quick tile on my Redmi note 10 pro. I believe I got it from an app called "Activity launcher" that basically lets you get access to settings buried that otherwise you couldn't, then all you have to do is set a quick tile and yeah it dims everything once toggled on. So yeah, the extra dim function is native, but buried and not accessible through the normal settings (if that makes sense). The adds in the spotlight I believe can be turned off, since I got no adds whatsoever, none. Full disclosure, I'm on MIUI 14 (Android 13), I don't know how it's like on HyperOS, never got to use it. And yeah, the Android widgets su**, vintage and not in the good way hahaha! I've been a Xiaomi (Redmi) user for the past 3 & 1/2 years but planning to get a top tier Samsung in the future, especially because of AI, since I believe Samsung and Apple are probably in the front of the race regarding AI.

Xiaomi phones "technically'" do actually have the Extra Dim feature, only it isn't baked into MIUI/HyperOS. Needs to be accessed via hidden menus, as it is a native Android feature as of late.
Entertaining video! Samsung user here. It's the software features and clever software keeping me with Samsung. I know the other phones have better cameras and value for sure. I'm just waiting for them to catch up with the software. So frustrating, at one time, Samsung was the leader in everything, now it really isn't.
Mate, i want say thanks) I bought Nuphy AIR60 V2 and Logitech G502X. This is best setup for Macbook) Thank you so much for your content) You are awesome
Bro, I LOVED that ending so much. I got so excited at the creativity. So funny! Glad you're back and posting regularly again! Also, not to make your life harder but you should check out the Sony Xperia 5 V (or maybe VI if it ever comes out). :)
Nothing wrong with Xiaomi phones in principle but having owned 3 of them previously, the forced advertising/silly apps in embedded in the MIUI (HyperOS) software really irritate me and puts me off from buying another one.
I still have Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G Ne as backup. It was easy to handle with my tiny hands, despite the screen size, because it was superthin. Battery life for such a thin device was incredible in my regular use. I'm a heavy user, but not a gamer. I however ended up switching to Samsung, because I have the Galaxy Watch, Galaxy tags etc. and they don't work as well (or at all) with other phones.
i use to own s22 and had a really bad experince with charging speed heating issue and battery drain but i loved how one ui is . i recently bought xiaomi 14 loved the charging speed battery backup and camera and almost no heating issue but man does the hyper os suck with bloats and ads when the phone is almost 1000 dollars .. they need to polish the software and remove those shoty apps and ads .
I have s24 sd ver right now, for a week now. And not sure if batt life would get better. I get to charge once a day. It does get warm but not hot, not yet. And I find that the charge drains pretty fast even if I'm lasting the whole day with a single charge. But the UI. It's just great. Chinese brands, they are all the same. The ads, recommended apps, and auto download, are annoying. I manage my mom's oppo.
Screen dimm is hidden in accessibility settings in xiaomi . Eu rom. Activate with accessibility gesture of dual finger (both thumbs) on the bottom navigation pill (for full screen gestures). I'll check my wifes phone since she uses the regular global rom if she has it under accessibility. Thank you for your look at the Xiaomi 14. Wanted to get but will wait atleast a year because the price is almost half then. My wife has the Xiaomi 13 and her pictures have been so much nicer already than from my mi 10 pro. And the 14 has an even better camera. And yea the system ads, I use eu rom from the Xiaomi . Eu forum which removes those. Cheers
There is a way to turn off as, but it's pretty complicated. Normally adds are for the cheaper phones due to Xiaomi not making though revenue. Although hyper os is redirected to improve when 2.0 comes out, nice video bro
What kind of ads you are seeing on Flagship phones on mi,,im using mi 14 for last 8 months I uninstalled all the bloatware apps within 5 mins after I got my mobile on my hand.you just blindly hating mi 😅
@@CatherineAYackob No, Samsung (37%) is the no. 1 in Germany, very close to Apple (34%) at no 2. No. 3 is Xiaomi with 10%. In reality almost everyone under 30 uses an iPhone. You are the cringe guy if you don't use an iPhone. I Know girls who would never date an android guy.

For me, if you want a practical wise phone: long battery, fast charge, great camera photos; I'd pick the xiaomi, a good bang for your buck. But if you're a tad bit picky about the user experience and overall operations of the phone, I'd pick samsung, better ui simpler to use and follow, has longer software support, not as beefy in the hardware but still pretty above average its a nice pick. Hey, It’s me again. Don’t know if you remember me but I was one of the people who recommended you the Xiaomi 14. Yes the iPhones will always be kings of video but when it comes to compact camera phones the current best would be the Xiaomi 14 and Pixel 9 Pro (recently released). When comparing it to bigger beasts I’d say the Xiaomi 14 Ultra has a bigger kick to it.
I had now the 15 Pro, after using an S24 I like what Samsung is doing with the software, is smooth and has good functions, I only sell it because seeing how Pixel had 12/16GB Ram. I thought the S24 will not be so smooth on 2 years, with that limitation. I have HyperOS on a cheap tablet that I used only for video consumption, but I don't like it at all. And the Pixel has a week processor will probably result on the same problem as the S24, the low performance on the future. The problems for me, the S24 the Ram capacity, the Xiaomi 14 hate HyperOS or MIUI and the Pixel 9 weak processor. I think the next smarthphone will have an interface that I like, a good processor and a good amount of Ram will be the S25.
You should consider reviewing the Xiaomi Pad 6 along with all its accessories. It is a strong competitor to the iPad, offering nearly all the essential features at about a third of the price.
