- Driving in the Iracing Mazda MX-5 series @ Okayama Japan, against professional Aussie V8 Supercar driver Shane Van Gisbergen. One of the most EPIC battles I had in my Iracing career!
Iracing.com, the most realistic online motorsports simulation in the world. - Авто/Мото
Shows me why I'm a Van Gisbergen supporter.
Man, I can only imagine how intimidating racing with a full on, serious racing driver could be. Seems like a heck of alot of fun though, constant push and shove. Nice race!
That's cool. Wondering about Shane's amount of practice on that combo vs yours. plus it was interesting to see ho his car was slightly lowered compared to yours.
Great race man!! My respects!!
pretty funny that "Gisbergen" is also a slang name for the belgian town Geraardsbergen which is only a 10-ish km's from where i work :-)
good racing! And hey, in racing, catching a car up is one thing, passing is another! iRacing rocks.
epic race i just started racing and i think ive i went up against Shane i would have just pulled over and watched
nice vid, thanks for the upload.
great race either 1 of you can win you both are syncronize the difference was up to endurance i think but both skills are the same i should say . good drivers ..videos like this makes me love this game even more .
Felicitaciones! espectacular lucha...
great vid...
this shows us how the MX5s (Cup and Roadster) are even! ;)
Way to hold him off as long as you did. Great job man.
Awesome race!
Nice one mate!
@Duron13 You do have a point. It is sometimes better to follow the guy(s) ahead and try to get away from cars behind rather than fight for that position and let the others close in. Or let cars in front (you two) get further ahead.
But if you don't defend your position then it sort of defeats the purpose of racing doesn't it? Especially in the virtual world you could just have offline races where you drive a certain distance and the fastest overall time wins. You don't even have to see others!
Raced against Dion Von Moltke on Iracing before (Audi R8 driver in Grand Am)
the grey car has better mid corner speed and better acceleration out of the corners. seems to have a better setup than the blue car
A lot of people seem to not like the term 'simulator' if this is not a simulator, what is?
Guy in yellow car: "Hurry up and crash you two" =D (probably)
Nice race
awesome race :)
In my opinion, he wasn't being 100% fair, he was giving you little taps here and there to unsettle your car. But I agree with others in that he was just toying you, he relished the battle so let you keep up. He seemed to have a knack for handling the car and pushing the limits whereas you simply drove consistently within the limits, he was sliding the car, taking as wide entry/exits as he could get away with (10:38) etc. Really shows the difference between a sim racer and a real racer.
Racing that hard and you're still outrunning the 3rd place car. Good job mate.
awesome!!
@BrotherGlade I agree with you and I know that racing with another guy does help to go faster and leave behind the others racers, and yes it is a battle so I guess you have to somehow defend what you have or what you earned, it's just I feel shameful whenever I try to do the same.
Good race but he was fully just toying with you bro. If he's quick enough to catch you from pitlane then he could have EASILY pulled away from you if he wanted. Still looked like a fun race tho :D
Shane has the world record for this track and car BTW, under 1:01
sounds like its crunching too
8:00 happy car is happy
And how can iRacing prove that the name used is real? I could have written my name is anything I wanted when registering, and they couldn't tell If I was lying or not.
He uses button clutch!
No he using semi auto paddle shift, You just get it hitting limiter when full throttle changing. u thinking of Forza (which is also good)
@pur30wnt2 I don't drive like that, I leave room and don't take the inside to prevent the follower to do the same. You know, if I'm slower I don't see any good reason to slow down the guy behind me.
And it avoids to frustrate the guy who might try dangerous move to pass, you see.
Great battle but I must say I don't like when people over protect "their" place.
Cpt obvious is here
Shane Van Gisbergen isn't Australian, he's from New Zealand
I bet the adrenaline was pumping!
Villeneuve - Arnoux :)
i agree lol but it was a good race! and you didnt have to word it like that man a little harsh
Thats a good point. It's a video game. What about it?
nice man
@Duron13 That's racing though? Lol you defend your position even if your slower
It looks to me that his tires where shitty once he catched you
All drivers in iRacing have to use their real names.
Presumably the name has to match the name on your credit card. Pretty hard to fake that.
And even more play it just for fun.
only reason he held him off so long is cos of his tactics of blocking.. he showed no racing spirit by dive bombing corners, and completely cutting him off on corners.. and how do we even know its shane? no screenshot of race results..
lawl.. a 'shitty' game. It's basically the best simracer out there
hello cpt obvious
because he can.
its a video game
no you have to have a wheel
He races a V8 supercar thats what they do Lol
why do people always claim NZ shit as Australian, lol
why would a professional racing driver play on a shitty game when he does it in real life!
have you ever played this 'shitty' game?
