We could focus for one year to plant and grow as much food as we can, where we can,as local as possible.
We could solve most of our problems in one year.
What is it 80 of oil burned is transporting food ( mostly unnecessary) like shipping pears around the world just to be repackaged.

Nahhh, all BS! All we really need is constant economical growth so that the dividends from the stock market are bigger and bigger each year! Board members and CEOs love this sh*t!

True but also not. WE, the humans of today, do not need a diet as nature intended. We are and will continue to evolve for as long as we're here. Our ancestors' needs are not our own. Similar in many ways, but to say we need to eat foods as nature intended is a little out of left field. We have been altering food for thousands and thousands of years. I think that the issue is more the speed at which we have changed the processes for making/storing food that has contributed to our bodies' current inability to keep up.
What about food is the leading cause of illness and death, though? I am guessing it's not just all food and it's a type of diet or mineral that we overconsume.
