Well the Olympics are not only about sports excellence, they are also about world representation. In almost every discipline there are competitors that are not up to the standards of the best, they simply don’t get airtime normally. In every sport there is a maximum of people that can qualify per continental zone. Otherwise there would be sports where only china, the us or Australia could compete. Oceania as a continent got a direct spot in the name of Olympic universality. I think raygun was well aware she was outmatched (her 3 opponents logisticx, sissy and nicka are among the best 8 consistently in world wide competitions.) I think she tried to play to her strengths, originality and musicality giving it an Australian flare but it didn’t translate. I don’t think she did bad on purpose. I found her performance goofy and had a good laugh. But I applaud her courage and bravado in the face of a bigger foe. She got 0 points because the system is comparative and her opponent are waaaaay better and got all votes from all judges in every round. Had she been in another group and against the Moroccan bgirl who is closer to her level she might have gotten a few votes. It’s not her fault that the internet decided to make her a meme, it’s not her fault that better dancers didn’t show up to the qualifier, it’s not her fault that people are toxic and like to spread misinformation because it’s dramatic and fits their narrative. And I absolutely categorize what she has gotten as a response as hate. You can like or dislike her performance, you can criticize the performance. But the defamation of character, the spread of misinformation, the diagnosing with personality disorders is in my opinion hate and not ok. This entire situation has made me feel awful for the integrity of journalism.

They’re suppressing it. Google “Raygun Olympics full video” then click on the Reddit link, then scroll down a little, somebody posted/shared the full video
@HogShark Thanks for the tip, I found it. My first impression is that she looks like a little kid doing what they think is break dancing. My second impression is that, just because she got a Ph.D. in break culture--how is that even a thing??--she simply can't execute the moves. They said she's a 2-time champ in Australia. I really can't fathom how that's possible.
@@dancingfirefly7761 YW. She's a joke, and they've been paying her to be a joke LOL. We can't make this stuff up, even though we wish it was made up rofl.
I was a break dancer in 1983 and 1984, I was not able to flair or windmill and I only had a few moves, I did suck, I have to say most of us sucked, more so when you see breakdancers of today, we where slow as hell, yet it was the beginning and what a wast of time it was but interesting that we looked for people to battle at malls and even went home by the police for loitering or causing crowds to watch. I saw break dancers in europe doing it for the money and they where not that great, and then I saw how fast they where around the 2002 or so, they did it because they wanted to be good and when anyone watched they wanted money to get them to leave. Poor Rachael, she can be a comedian now. It doesn't matter what she did, at least she tried. I bet alot of people would like to and they won't, woke is what ruined her performance. She wasn't ready for this and expected to be treated good for the sake of the new world order.

@@sof2294 there are amazing break dancers from many places, France is one and of course the US, and she came from a country music approach. I found it way too competitive, where you can't do much, the same same same moves, wind mill, flairs, and some gymnastics. it's a wast of an Olympic game, yet they did it, great. This game causes alot of hate. From the start it was to take someone's head shrink it.. bounce it.. it was trashing someone when you popped, now it's break dancing but the concept is similar. It not a performance, but it was in the Olypics. More like boxing.. go hit kick , harder, beat them up. wow, did you see her go down or him. it's sad, it shouldn't be this way but that's what it is. boxing should be illegal when the goal is to hit the opponent hard enough that he loses oxygen to the brain and drops. We are not a christian society and we never where, we will slowly get rid of christianity due to all the pain it caused others. not a good thing. more violence will come out of it.
For a woke academic she sure loves cultural appropriation! I don't know if this commentary is satire, but I think it's time to Make Satire Fiction Again!
You're kidding me? Breakdancing as an Olympic sport? That's why I refused to watch ANY of these Olympic game replays, even the cycling which I love. After hearing of those freaks with the "Last Supper" performance at the Opening Ceremonies, I never even searched out any replays. Oh, and go back to making the Olympics a truly "amateur" sporting event!
This is a joke right? ...she did not deserve to be there. Her scandal stole opportunities from actually talented dancers and she made a mockery of the sport.
People are cruel. Because I am not arrogant enough to speak from a place of expertise (like the hundreds of others here) I cannot comment on her skill. But I do appreciate her creativity, and I think people look for reasons to be offended.
The Olympics are not about how hard you tried or you wanting to do good as an Olympian, they're about how good you are at your sport and that's it! And it's really crazy how she makes a mockery of the "sport" because she actually can't break dance at all and then plays the victim card because people call her out on it. Just another attention seeker!
She's horrible. When I saw it I thought maybe it was a joke. The people in her life need to tell her that she sucks at breakdancing. The other problem is that there's so many other things that she might be good at but she's not pursuing them because nobody tells her that she sucks
To all you haters out there; Rachael Gunn, known competitively as Raygun, is an Australian academic & breakdancer. She did Australia PROUD with her "BreaKangaroo" - a unique style. Our Prime Minister's immortal words after seeing her said; "It's Great; at least she had a Crack".
😂😂 that explains it's all. They get they swag from us. So if we not around, neither is the Rhythm or style. They just jump around flailing their arms when music plays. 😂
Yes traditional owners can dance better but they only welcome when a ceremony is required 😂😊 they too busy grabbing land rights and banning anyone else from entering!!
How did she manage to get admitted to the games? I always thought only professionals and no clowns came there? Surely there's a selection committee or something similar!?
Better than Steve Smith's batting stance. C'mon guys.. She is not the worst in the world. You have done much more worse things in life than her (to all who r bullying her). I m saddened.. this is not funny. Please allow her to live her rest of the life happily and head high.❤
Her scores at the Olympics--not one single vote by the judges--pretty much says she IS the worst in the world. People sharing their honest opinions is not bullying, either. Her incredibly poor, bizarre performance will follow her for her entire life. Pretty much the only thing you can do with a Ph.D. in Culture of Break Dancing is teach and write articles, but after her abysmal performance at the Olympics, no one will take her classes, IF she can even find a college to hire her. She'll also not find anyone to publish her articles. If she enters any competitions, well... She'll forever be known as the girl who went to the Olympics and pranced about like a kangaroo and rolled around on the floor. 🦘
That was one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. What the hell is wrong with the IOC that they would create this new "sport"? Elaine Benes had better moves than this chick.
I thought it was all rehearsed routines from each competitor? Very stupid to have them have to freestyle it to beats that the dj makes on the fly. Even gymnastic floor routines they get to choose their own music. Don't matter anyway...olympics is a blatant joke..bought out by xina.
I saw real break dancing in the 80's! This is NOT break dancing. She simply "identifies" as a break dancer.
That sounds about right. And anyone who doesn't like her contortions is a "hater," because according to the rules of wokeness, disagreeing with one of the wokerati is hate.

I found her performance goofy and had a good laugh. But I applaud her courage and bravado in the face of a bigger foe.
She got 0 points because the system is comparative and her opponents are waaaaay better and got all votes from all judges in every round.
@@sof2294 Bro she's not gonna fall in love with you 😄
Why is it so hard to find her performance?
😂😂 this has to be a satire
I think raygun was well aware she was outmatched (her 3 opponents logisticx, sissy and nicka are among the best 8 consistently in world wide competitions.)
I think she tried to play to her strengths, originality and musicality giving it an Australian flare but it didn’t translate.

We are not a christian society and we never where, we will slowly get rid of christianity due to all the pain it caused others. not a good thing. more violence will come out of it.
thank you for shaming australia in the olympic...you are funny😂😂
This has got to be a .more like B girl bgone 😂😂😂😂
Wait...did he say she has a PhD in BREAKDANCING??
Correct
I believe he said breakdancing culture. Which makes it not even a little better.
Yes, she did. Incredible, isn't it?
For a woke academic she sure loves cultural appropriation!
I don't know if this commentary is satire, but I think it's time to Make Satire Fiction Again!
A video that hides the truth. So sad.
Her journey to the Olympics is a testament to how wokeness destroys everything
I thought the commentary was sarcastic. In the end I realised this guy is serious.
Really, she doesn't know what she's doing.
Definitely not serious😂
Aussie breakdance is alot different than regular breakdancing
why is there not a actual video of the performance for gods sake!
I know just pictures or a short clip. I didn’t see her “performance” and can’t find it anywhere!
Wow is this a paid channel for her...that girl absolutely didnt know what see was doing
This is a joke right? ...she did not deserve to be there. Her scandal stole opportunities from actually talented dancers and she made a mockery of the sport.
The commentary is the best part. I can’t stop laughing at every word
I thought she was trolling the Olympics.
Rachel the fact you did this proves a lot about you. You are as bad as you are good and I like it.
Loved the creativity! Keep it up, Rachel!
I just tell Rachel Gunn to do something else because breakdancing is not for her.
Ballet dancing, is more of a sport than break dancing.
This is what would happen if Elaine tried to breakdance.
She should have won. Oh I thought it was a special Olympics😂😂😂😂
Like the handful of contestants on those singing competitions shows. They think they can sing but can’t carry a note in a bucket! Delusional!
MY B Girl
"Pulse pounding energy " yep... I'm sure everyone agrees.😂😂😂😂
She's horrible. When I saw it I thought maybe it was a joke. The people in her life need to tell her that she sucks at breakdancing. The other problem is that there's so many other things that she might be good at but she's not pursuing them because nobody tells her that she sucks
Is this the standard of the dance, cause 30 years ago it was really breaking!!!
Apakah dia ngeprank?
This girl can dance 😂😊
What’s a phd in breaking culture?
PHD in breaking culture...
What school even does that?
Methinks her whole grift was a trip to Paris paid for by the taxpayers. Jus sayin
If you ever feel useless think that in Australia lives Rachel Gunn!!!😂😂😂
Is she was poisoned?? 🤔🫠😂
To all you haters out there;
Rachael Gunn, known competitively as Raygun, is an Australian academic & breakdancer.
She did Australia PROUD with her "BreaKangaroo" - a unique style.
Our Prime Minister's immortal words after seeing her said;
"It's Great; at least she had a Crack".
Y'all ain't got no black people in Australia?God DAMN😂
😂😂😂😂
😂😂 that explains it's all. They get they swag from us. So if we not around, neither is the Rhythm or style. They just jump around flailing their arms when music plays. 😂
Yeah we invaded by black Indians they overrun suburbs with curry😂
Yes traditional owners can dance better but they only welcome when a ceremony is required 😂😊 they too busy grabbing land rights and banning anyone else from entering!!
I wanna do the Haouli dance. Much more challenging on the ankles..
Bro you’re kidding with this shit right?
How did she manage to get admitted to the games? I always thought only professionals and no clowns came there? Surely there's a selection committee or something similar!?
Her dance is OK i think..even if shé is not expert in break dance...❤
Im sorry world. From all of Australia.
Такое ощущение, что она ошиблась олимпийскими играми. Должна была выступать на Паралимпиаде, а попала на обычную.
I saw this on Kensington Ave.
Hahaha, good one
Wow...I thought Kamala had the most propaganda ads working for her but this takes the cake.
B Girl Ray Gunn, Oh Lawd 😂
That was one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. What the hell is wrong with the IOC that they would create this new "sport"? Elaine Benes had better moves than this chick.
Was this the special Olympics ?
Mediccc! Get some help over here...this girl needs help !
😂😂😂😂😂
What Sorcery is that? That shit deserves the zero score hahaha.
I can't tell if this is a joke or not....
Who posted this video? Her husband?
Hahaha nope bro
Robbed of the gold.
YEP. .. And ACHIEVED....ZERO points...RAYDUMB...😊
😂😂😂😂😂 this video was made by her
There's a PhD for breakdancing culture??!!😅😅
hahahaha good one!
Hahahaha Rachel made this page for sure. What a shame 😂😂😂
She's paying for positive press 😂
This is a spoof, right? 😂😂😂. You can’t be serious. "her unique style?", you mean no talent style? Stop with the gaslighting.
SOMEONE IS TRYING TO PR THE S****T OUTTA RAYGUN :P trying to save face like this after the fact is just more disgraceful !
The Special Olympics
Satire 😂
oh, this is serious
Is this the Onion News
What a joke! Are u kidding me? This is unlike anything I've seen!!
What?!?!
G.O.A.T.
What is this commentary
I thought it was all rehearsed routines from each competitor? Very stupid to have them have to freestyle it to beats that the dj makes on the fly. Even gymnastic floor routines they get to choose their own music. Don't matter anyway...olympics is a blatant joke..bought out by xina.
