    Thank you very much for taking the time to share this information. We are just starting our RV life (part-time for now) in a 2013 Lexington Class C.

    We have a 1998 Class C Fleetwood without slides. Its just the two of us and we want to be sure we will like camping again before jumping into a more expensive camper. Its a very solid rig and the furniture is well made. I can live with the tapestry fabrics but would like plain walls with no borders. The first things that have to go are the blinds, valances, sconces and carpet. As you know the valances get in the way of the sliding windows. Bedroom windows can just be covered up with the “stained glass” treatment. We don’t need a view from the bedroom. There’s not enough room to keep fussing with valances and blinds anyway. Love your stained glass idea in the bedroom etc. Luckily my husband is a home remodeling contractor and roofing contractor. Money saved!!

    What kind of research did you do prior to the Reno? Watching RUclips? Had you renovated anything in your house? How to conquer the fear of starting? Your Reno is beautiful! Congratulations! 🖖🏻👍🏻🙏🏻😘

      Thanks for the comment. We’ve done some “light” Reno on our first RV and a few home projects. This was the biggest project we’ve done however and we watched a lot of RUclips videos!

      These Older Fleetwood RVs are quality rigs. Have a mobile tech or diesel mechanic/RV tech do an inspection on the rig before you buy it. That’s the best piece of advice that I could give you. Good luck and let us know what you decide!

    Charity you crack me up. You calling adding tools to your tool library had me rolling on the floor. Guys would say adding tools to our toolbox or tool chest. Keep the great videos coming.

    Favorite line, “at the beginning it was “let’s take this out and then the next day, let’s take this out”. This is how reluctant DIYer’s start. (I know I did). Once stuff comes out, there’s no going back. Congrats again.

    Thanks for sharing your experience. I especially enjoyed the flooring aspect. In the past three years of ‘full timing’ we have found ourselves constantly renovating something to make our RV better and have been debated redoing some of the flooring but are chicken. 😁

    Why did you remove the sub-flooring?

    • @GratefulGlamper
      @GratefulGlamper  3 года назад +1

      So the flor would be level - the subfloor was not in the whole RV, just in places where the kitchen flooring was before..

    How did you remove the day night shade behind the drivers seat, in the slide with the couch and dinette? We have the same Fleetwood Discovery. Those cabinets above the couch are starting to come away from the ceiling of that slide.

    • @GratefulGlamper
      @GratefulGlamper  3 года назад

      The window box wasn’t easy to remove as we had to remove the couch to be able to get it down. Take a look at our first few Reno videos (we did a whole series) where we show what it took to get it down.

    JW how many miles do you have on your RV? What is too many miles for an RV when buying one?

    • @GratefulGlamper
      @GratefulGlamper  3 года назад

      We have about 40k miles on it now. When it's a diesel engine, miles are not so much of an issue when purchasing.

      @@GratefulGlamper before the pandemic, we were thinking about selling the house to RV full time when we retire in 2022. Now we are planning to keep the house as our home base and maybe buying a RV for travel.

    • @GratefulGlamper
      @GratefulGlamper  3 года назад

      We are had we kept a home base, one of the reasons being our RV is a depreciating asset vs our home base is an appreciating asset.
