Hi Kate I love your way of just starting to calm down before setting your plan for what you're about to do. I love getting up in the morning making a coffee & begin 😂 stitching. Only problem is I don't want to stop!!!😂❤ I was sick for 6 weeks, the weather was wet cold & no sun, so I spent that time creating my first needle book. I'm not quite finished but close. I don't have a lot of the stitching all over it but I'm ready to begin creating one soon. I've been working in a pink theme & love it 10:07
Hi Kate, Fire going, warm and toasty while I watch you….we had a beautiful sunny day here (Nelson, N.Z.)., The local hospice had a fundraiser. They called it a bric a brac sale. It was held in a hall and there were many stallholders of crafty women who wanted to downsize their goodies. I was in seventh heaven and came home with a huge bag of laces and fabrics including some silk and kimono pieces. Some fabric I purchased just because I liked how it felt! Yes, I have 3 or 4 little projects on the go. It depends how I feel as to what i work on. Today I tried zigzag stitch on a frayed piece of linen. It looks so rough but it is my work - on a little pouch that will hold 2 little tools for mending rosary beads. Thinking about closing it like you have done with your housewife. Your voice is so soothing and you impart many gems to beginners like me. Bless, Rosemary
O Rosemary - I love this so much! So wonderful to hear your story and I can just imagine the fundraiser....sounds like heaven to me too! I think NZ is such a creative place, and soo glad to have you with me on our shared journey. Love the sound of your projects - please keep sharing! Sincerely, Kate ❤❤❤
Hi Kate. Have recently found your channel and have been drawn in by your lovely slow stitching and now the addition of crochet. Love it all and your warm way of speaking. Thank you. 🌸
Hi Carol - welcome, welcome! I am so glad that you have found me and that we can now share our love of stitching. Thank you for your kindness and support, and for especially taking the time to watch and comment. Looking forward to sharing the journey with you. Sincerely, Kate 😊❤❤
Hi Kate, I love your colourful slow stitched pieces. They are so joyful to see all the colour and it is lovely to see and hear the joy they bring you while you are creating them. ❤
O thank you Chrissie - I so admire your work, and to hear you say this warms my heart. They are truly me joy, and I feel very blessed to able to share them. I hope you are enjoying. your making today! Sincerely, Kate ❤❤❤
So inspiring once again Kate, love your colours and ways of creating, and bliss, the calming sound of the thread through fabric. I realized as you spoke and stitched, that I also for years have been collecting fabrics, doilies, lace, threads and all things vintagey. Oppys are my most favourite looked forward to excursion so I feel double blessed with the economical way to build up my collection. I did believe that somewhere lurking in the not yet but will be, the chapter waiting to be written would arrive where all those gathered and collected treasures would lovingly be given a home in the pieces I'd create. Currently organizing all my stuff, good progress being made and I will soon have that behind me, freeing up my mental energies to devote for full steam ahead creating. I've enjoyed and been nourished by all you've brilliantly and so generously gifted on your channel. Brave and incredibly talented you are!
O Andrea - you are so kind! I love hearing about you and your chapters too, and that now is the right time for even more creations! Wishing you the bestest with all. Sincerely, Kate ❤❤❤
@@kateinthenest Hi again bountiful artisan Kate....a thank you is in order for the tutorial on anchoring/crocheting onto existing crochet. So helpful, and another little jig danced when I saw your Makr paper cutter in a previous video - a fellow Lincraft shopper if I'm correct in the brand recognition. Lincraft is hands down one happy place for me. Best wishes Kate.🧵💗

O I so thrilled too! My backing is an old thin wool blanket that I found in a Vinnies. It was recommended to me that wool was the best. I've also used wadding too, and other fabric, but have to say that the blanket is my favourite! Hope this is helpful - thank you again for watching and commenting. It really does make my day! Sincerely, Kate 😊❤❤
