Well as a car designer working in China, I have to say the the copywrite rules are the same here and you can't just rip off from others without consequences. The Hongqi L5 and Warrior M50 is not exactly available to the general public yet, the Qiantu brand did sold some of their cars but they already went bankrupt years ago, and the rest are either still prototypes or concept cars.
Love your truck man. By the way, I am absolutely serious because it's perfect for people like myself who have a disability. It's much lower to the ground allowing a disabled person to get in and out since some of us have problems stepping up and pulling ourselves in. I wish there were more vehicles like this here for us who don't go very far or travel much besides going to the store and doing things around the house. Having the dump bed would be great for us who have a fireplace and have to get firewood. It's a really cool truck. Thank you for showing it and letting us see other vehicles that are out there.

Something to remember about Chinese luxury cars: it honestly doesn't matter all that much how powerful they are. The traffic in China's major cities will prevent you from ever finding the top speed or acceleration figures, and there's a good chance that the owner is in the back seat anyway. Obviously, though, these aren't being sold to the truly wealthy in China, as they can afford the import taxes on premium luxury cars from other countries. Hence the Audi A8L Horsch. I can imagine that car selling quite well to the restrained wealthy who want to be pampered in luxury, but also don't want to drop half a million USD on a TOTL Mayback to do so. Well, let me rephrase that: drop a solid million on it. Import taxes in China are astronomically high. So, similar feature sets, appealing aesthetics, extremely comfortable back seats, looks great in black? Sold. China's business elite, particularly the CEO levels, still hold to the ideal that the truly powerful do not drive themselves, and tend to have dedicated chauffeurs to shuttle them back and forth. Of course, if you're taking calls or reviewing business matters at any and all times of the day, then a one to two hour commute through any metro zone around a major city in China would be a real wasted opportunity if you had to drive yourself, so it makes sense.
Byd actually build most of the things in house ranging from controller modules, batteries and the motor. Some of there entry level family cars are very cheap for that very reason.
The Chinese are essentially locked out of the US market, but many of these cars are exported abroad to many international markets. For instance the E-HS9 sells surprising well in EV loving Norway, partly because it isn't as expensive as this video claims. Base trim version recently started at as low as $63k USD in Norway, for instance.
@@tren133 good thing I dont live in USA, then. Like, the absolute biggest problem with Chinese cars is that outside of China, nobody services them. If there were at least a few workshops for Chinese cars in every country, Chinese car adoption would go off the charts. Now, there's like one China shop per per 3-4 countries, and if you want your car serviced, it takes so much time and money, it's not even worth it, unless car was brand new and you're a millionaire.
@@jafhu There is enough range and fast enough charging for it to still be a good deal, or else why would a bunch of Norwegians still buy this car? There are very few full size proper 3 row SUVs which are fully electric, and the Hongqi is quite luxurious inside too, especially for its price. Hence even with subpar efficiency, and a brand that is entirely unknown in western Europe, it is nonetheless still finding a steady stream of buyers.
Tbh it's not completely surprising China doesn't care about copyright laws. These laws exist in the west since the 19th century only, and they are meant to protect western products and companies. They are highly capitalistic and seen as anti competitive. China doesn't have a culture of intellectual property either, copying has been a thing since forever.
Those little Suzuki and Honda and whoever else minitrucks that have the flat/dump bed on the back are pretty cheap. They're legal here in Canada, I think they're like a 3cyl or something and work pretty well. Gasoline, manual or auto, and you can fit sxs wheels and tires on them easily. Also most are 4x4. You can get them for like 5k already imported/here
@@waheeddoesstuff And yet instead of saying what it truly costs they still claim what it cost for just the shell of what they have. I've seen other videos regarding this particular ev. And to get one with the best battery and all the options including import and all that is 10k easily. So 5x what they kept repeating in the video.
3:01 is Superior by Silver maple I instantly recognized it and I bet some people were wondering what that song was. really good song, too short, good music taste and choice for the video :D
Jeremiah only did the briefest of research on these cars, but the Yangwang pair do pack some pretty unique tech. The U9's DiSus suspension, for instance, allows for the car to drive at highway speeds completely level while missing one front wheel. It is also strong enough to allow the car to jump vertically (all four wheels) off the ground. The U8 can do a "tank turn" while standing still because all 4 wheels have their own motors. The U8 also has a snorkel because it is water proof and is designed to actually float in water despite its weight. So in an emergency if you tried to ford water which is too deep, the U8 will float in the water, and can turn the wheels at optimal speeds to let you drive yourself out of the water back onto land. And the snorkel itself is for a small gas engine carried onboard the car, which can be used as a range extender if the main battery runs out of juice.
Since they are so relaxed with copyright laws, some manufacturer needs to bring that Hongqi L5 design to Europe. But like 200 times cheaper, so I can afford it in about 10-15 years.
@@jack99889988 I don't believe a word the Chinese government or courts say. For every Landwind x7 there's a hundred Skybreeze y8 knockoffs. That's all Chinese companies do: steal and lie about it and the government protects them at all costs, only throwing a bone to outside companies every once in a while so they can pretend to be objective.
The reason that ArcFox GT is more powerful but slower off the line than a Tesla Model S Plaid is likely due to its lack or near-lack of traction control. When you’re trying to put that much power down through anything other than slick drag radials, you’re at the absolute limit of grip. If you took the traction control out of a Plaid, it could spin all four tires up to about 80 miles per hour when floored off the line, which is probably what’s happening with the ArcFox’s less aggressive driver assistance setup.

the american pronunciation of the "ang" of yangwang is very different from the Chinese pronunciation. Chinese pronounces it "aahng" so it's more like yaahngwaahng
Sounds like a rapper name: Yung Wang
hes pronouncing it wrong lol. he could have done some research. first result gives you the Chinese characters and pinyin. you can just copy and paste 仰望 into google translate and it will tell you how its pronounced. like someone else said its pronounced more like "Young Wong"
Or using dong and Cummins in the same sentence

the first one is pretty much the Chinese hummer. its a civilian version of the Chinese version of the humvee, made by the same company
Imagine being a politician and getting paid to do nothing. I would buy Chinese expensive cars
Actually among all of these, the most futuristic and practical cars are BYD U8 and U9. Because they do show things electric motor can do but petrol engine can't. That's much more precise control of the four wheels than traditional AWD system.

Volvo Cars is owned by the Chinese (Zhejiang Geely Holding Group), MG is also Chinese, and there are other brands owned by companies from Asia (Land Rover, Jaguar)....
We need more videos like this
I am an expat in China and I have driven most of these vehicles mentioned here. The Hong Qi (Red Flag) brand is known for expensive crappy cars, as known as "industrial waste." The Dong Feng "warrior" is a cheap knock-off copy of Hummer 1, with a much less reliable engine/transmission/chassis combo. Oh boy, don't get me started...

That car at 9:50 had space for 4 wheels but chose to drive around with three. Bold.
I like those HONGQI L5s. Retro-modern/futuristic cars would have had a huge market in Europe and in the US, if they were affordable.
美国政府不让中国汽车去美国市场销售
The U9 is actually really sick. For the alleged performance, that price isn’t that expensive either..
Byd actually build most of the things in house ranging from controller modules, batteries and the motor. Some of there entry level family cars are very cheap for that very reason.
Not gonna lie, Hongqi EHS-9 looks freaking sick! I really would like one, it looks like stupid cool.
@@tren133 it’s a shitty car tho. Almost no range and takes a lifetime to charge. The front is basically a solid mounted air break

6:00 "its good China is relaxed about copyright laws" imagine if he jinxed himself and CCP tries to somehow strike down this video
It is CPC, not CCP.

Jerry’s Chang li explorer in the intro no doubt has the most value except for the need to import one and pay all the fees that come with that:(
What I dislike is they keep saying $2k truck. In fact it is a lot more than that in the end.
You can get them for like 5k already imported/here
@@13r12ad they discuss that in the video where they import it
In china u can drive these superultraminitrucks without a licence, and they only requires at most, motorbike licence plates.
@@waheeddoesstuff And yet instead of saying what it truly costs they still claim what it cost for just the shell of what they have. I've seen other videos regarding this particular ev. I instantly recognized it and I bet some people were wondering what that song was.
really good song, too short, good music taste and choice for the video :D
Won't lie, I want that Yangwang U9 and their offroader - the U8
I don't know how hard it could be, but it'll be nice if donut put the metric system infos for the rest of the world spectators :)

Metric rules. Nobody uses imperial anymore. Only dummy americans
Since they are so relaxed with copyright laws, some manufacturer needs to bring that Hongqi L5 design to Europe. But like 200 times cheaper, so I can afford it in about 10-15 years.

Hongqi and RR are the same designer Taylor Giles
@@jack99889988 I don't believe a word the Chinese government or courts say. For every Landwind x7 there's a hundred Skybreeze y8 knockoffs. The E-HS9 is actually sold in Norway. I saw a few when I went there last summer.
@@jack99889988 Copyright law is not taken seriously there, because they don't follow it.
