The Bundesliga World Tour 2015 kicks off in the United States with the Florida Cup. It's Germany versus Brazil, Bayer Leverkusen and 1.FC Köln against Fluminense and Corinthians. Um clube olímpico e do mundo
Mas o Fluminense não tem história apenas no futebol. O primeiro brasileiro medalhista olímpico foi Afrânio Antônio da Costa, atleta tricolor, que ficou com a prata na competição de tiro nos Jogos de 1920, na Antuérpia (BEL). Na modalidade tiro-livre-pistola, Guilherme Paraense faturou o primeiro ouro para o país. O Tricolor também ajudou no desenvolvimento do basquete no Brasil.
Mas a grande contribuição veio em 1922. Naquele ano, sem o apoio financeiro do governo, o Flu promoveu o Campeonato Sul-Americano de Seleções e os Jogos Olímpicos Latino-Americanos (precursor do Pan). Por conta disso, o Tricolor recebeu no dia 28 de abril de 1949, após uma série de inscrições, a honraria da Taça Olímpica, condecoração máxima que um clube pode ganhar. Na ocasião da entrega pelo Comitê Olímpico Internacional (COI), Jules Rimet afirmou: "O Fluminense é a organização esportiva mais perfeita do mundo".
Durante esse período, principalmente na segunda metade da década de 1930, o Fluminense ganhou destaque pela soberania no Campeonato Carioca (entre 1936 e 1941, foram cinco títulos), pela contribuição para a Seleção Brasileira (foi a base para a Copa do Mundo de 1938), e também pelo papel importante no processo de profissionalização do futebol brasileiro.
Entre as décadas de 1950 e 1960, o Tricolor expandiu seus limites e pintou o mundo de verde, branco e grená. Logo no ano de seu cinquentenário, o Fluminense conquistou a Copa Rio (Mundial) de 1952. Para se ter ideia: entre 1952 e 1968, foram 128 jogos internacionais. Nessa fase, a bandeira das cores que traduzem a tradição viajou por América Latina, Europa e até África.

You do realize it's a friendly, right? None of these four teams played extremely competitive games with their best players. The games didn't really matter. But in the end, it was pretty clear that the Bundesliga teams were the better ones in these game.
Brazilians team are almost TWO months without play a match.

01tonyde It's a friendly, not an actual competition. The games were for practice and publicity. I don't think any of the teams were putting their full effort in. Also, they didn't play their starting 11.
