Ok bourbonites, I have read a few comments on here and past videos about them pausing videos.
    1. This is a reaction channel, we want to see and hear their reactions to the music and bourbon.
    2. There are certain rules that they must follow thru RUclips in order to post these videos and stay out of copyright hell like pausing, posting music license, etc.
    3. The community loves their comments and reactions and when they pause they provide insight, sometimes right sometimes wrong, and that allows the community to comment and interact with them. So if you don't like how they do it, please just go and watch the videos yourself on RUclips and stop criticizing these guys for enjoying country music they have never heard.

O.G. George has 60 #1 songs over his career. Rodeo man, devoted husband, and all-over good person. Corporal Strait served in the Army as an Infantryman in the 25th Division from 1971 to 1975, and also competed as a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association team-roping competitor. For us fellow veterans, he and his sponsor Wrangler established the National Patriot Program to raise money for America's wounded and fallen military veterans and their families.

If you had ever had the opportunity to see him back in the day, you would have not only been blessed to hear his smooth vocals but also his extraordinary live band, The Ace In The Hole Band. Probably one of the best 5 piece live bands in country music. The first two times I saw him at the Ector County Coliseum in Odessa, Texas, they left the back 1/3 of the floor area clear of chairs so people could dance. They started out playing dance halls and honky tonks and he said he loved watching people having a good time dancing as much as he did hearing the cheering!

A gazillion country songs were written off old sayings, cliches, colloquialisms, etc. They virtually write the hook for you and can provide a lot of the theme and direction for the song, while the listener almost has a feeling of being part author.

Johnny Cash & Luther Perkins ( brother of Carl Perkins of Blue Suede Shoes fame) started out known as The Tennessee Two. The kicker was that they had a bass player named Marshall Grant. Later on, they added a drummer named W.S. Holland. They changed the name of the band to The Tennessee Three. Grant was still with them, but it was like he didn't count.

Y'all should really go down the George Strait rabbit hole he has 60 No. 1 singles, more than any artist of any genre, and 33 platinum or multi-platinum-selling albums, more than any country artist and third across all genres behind only The Beatles and Elvis Presley.
They don't call him King George for nothing.

You're too young! Ocean front property in Arizona had replaced 'a bridge' at the time this song was popular. It was a very common to say. This is when the speculation about the San Andreas fault was a thing. If California fell off, obviously Arizona would be on the Pacific Coast. Duh.

This is a Cliche song about his love and how he felt about her. He means the exact opposite of what he is saying. The theme of the song is simple and easy to understand after you first hear it.

scammers would sell plots of land in Arizona to People arriving at Ellis Island and tell them they would love their ocean views. Same on the west coast with the Golden gate Bridge.
convince people the could buy the rights to Charge a Toll to cross

This song is exemplary of the generic sound of most of the Country Music that was produced in the 1980's. The only thing that makes it musically distinctive is the smooth vocal styling of George Straight. Not even a clever lyric or a catching title is unique in Country Music. All of the best ones have them. As for Keith's recognition of the rather bland bass in the music it brings to light one of the fundamental differences between Rock and Country music. Rock is more often than not primarily defined by the technical style of the musicians that record and perform it whereas Country Music is often defined more so by the singer and the lyrics of the song. As great as the excellent guitar work of say a Glenn Campbell, a Jerry Reed, or a Roy Clark might be to other musicians the average Country Music fan knows them best by their personalities or their songs. It should also be noted that throughout much of its history, Country Music was recorded primarily by studio musicians (like Glenn Campbell and Jerry Reed) and their playing was on everybody's records, often for decades. Rock music is almost always recognizable and defined by the sound created by the musical talent of the band performing the song. In rock they might all be playing an electric guitar but even the casual fan will know that they are hearing a Jimmy Page, a Eddie VanHalen, or an Angus Young within just a few notes. That doesn't happen in Country Music. Just imagine how bland the history of Rock Music would be if the majority of it was recorded by the same studio musicians playing the same old licks. In Country Music, which springs from the earthen soil, all you need is three chords and the truth. ✌

I love you guys...but im going to say this because its been eating at me awhile.Keith...you read WAYYYY to much into the way songs are written. You seem to think that the singers write theyre own songs....and that the songs are based on the singers lives or experiences. Some of the songs...such as this one were written by different people in a completely different era. They are just songs....period.Some country songs are just silly,goofy....or uplifting...or heartbreaking. They dont all reflect on the singers...or the writers personal lives. If you spend too much time picking apart every little nuance your going to miss just enjoying the songs. Its country music....like a country back road ....just flow with it.😉
