Love Cabaret Voltaire! Timeless electro funk. Back in the 80's I used to frequent a nightclub in Stoke-on-Trent called "The Place". It was massive and had four dance rooms. The smallest of these played electronic/indie music, and was where those with great music taste hung out. Whenever the DJ played "Sensoria" or "Yashar" there was always a collective mad dash for the floor. Happy nights of synths and cider 🧡
For people who enjoy underground music Cabaret Voltaire is not underrated, but very important project. The work of Richard H. Kirk will always be extremely influential.
There's no way in the history of ANYTHING that this video could possibly receive anything less than five stars. This track/video is complete unadulterated brilliance!
To me, this song is groundbreaking, it is one of the best and most original song that I have ever heard. I started listening to CV with this this song and it is still their best to me. It's just genius, totally.
@@Freehardy yeah. I'm not even a brit but there's no country in the world with the same taste and vision as you guys. The years between 70's and 80's are a goldmine alone
you are entitled to feel proud for your country's music as it's the best ever. To me the UK music is the 80s. All my favourite artists are British and CV is one of them. Greetings from Honduras!!!
This is a perfect track. To me this 1983 remix reminds me of the Belgian New Beat sound which flourished in Belgium around 4 or 5 years later, derived from EBM.
Still very impressive C V never left the top of my list, masters of the underground from 78’ industrial , tape manipulations , electronic funk , & so much more , opened the door for many new bands , brilliant ... (-_-)
It doesn't surprise me that before Front 242 show in Buenos Aires, the support dj's trio played this track.Guess I was one of the few who knew who made that track, and why they played it. ;)
Job Jonge Cabaret Voltaire was one of the pioner of the use of drum machine, and some of the sound of CV was took by Front 242. They even played some DAF. It seems they knew the deal.
Awesome song. I have the album "2x45" on vinyl and this is a different mix of Yashar than on the album. This must be the extended dance mix. I love both versions!
Delirante Música de Baile... Recuerdo haber comprado este maxi-single en 1 tienda de Barcelona, de la calle Tallers, donde vendían música de importación (aún lo conservo). Bonita época ;)
This is one of those songs that remain buried deep within your consciousness, only to resurface one again when you randomly encounter it on RUclips and realize you are old and may have been under some sort of influence the last time you heard this... and never knew the name of the song or the band for that matter but at the particular time you heard this that was what made it so very cccccoooooolllllll............
The drumming on this was the hallmark of mid-late Cabs genius. Adrian Sherwood involved by this point, I cant recall. (I think so, he was ahem instrumental in some of the beats).
Caberet Voltaire - one of the pioneers of modern dance music. Such an underrated group.
Not underrated, but definitely #4thosewhoKNO

Such sad news about Richard Kirk's death 😢. Such a great but underrated band.

The sample is from The Outer Limits episode "Demon With A Glass Hand", written by Harlan Ellison.
Crazy that this track came out in 1983! Awesomeness!

1982 Classic UK/Sheffield sound....I'm not a patriot but our music makes me proud!
Samshoblosas ar svaam?
everyone talks of Liverpool or Manchester when it comes to UK music, but Sheffield is just as important

Sounds great, i always liked this band.😊
R.I.P. Richard H. Kirk. 65 years old. What an amazing musician. CV's music is truly brilliant. What more needs to be said?
I never tire of the Cabs. Funkiest electronic ever.
Too fantastic. Back in the 80's they shot plenty of their own footage on super 8mm and 16mm, and analog video. Cabs are the best .Ever.
solo la generación que no vivió en carne propia sabe cuán es mi sentir
+Cesar Gael Perez Flores sí tienes mucha razón,

The way it should be.

@@cesargaelperezflores7049 it's 'analogue' kid. ..I like the cabs, but to be honest, they couldn't hold a candle to Fad Gadget lol
Classic Cabs. This track has stood the test of time.
Thank you for this incredible track upload. Mind-blowing considering the morass it blew past in that era.
when you've found something that shazam doesn't recognize you know you have found a hidden gem
the best is underground
,,£;
I suppose, but not really
I'm going to have to challenge Shazam to my collection...
It actually does
When I entered the club over 25 years ago hearing this track for the 1ste time, I didnt need dope to get high. lol.
God I love this version of Yashar. Personally I wish I could just play this song at the clubs rather than any other version.
Terrific brilliant song which reminds me at those beautiful unique eighties!
Helping me with my housework. Wishing I was back there for a week❤️
One of the best songs you'll ever hear in your life. Don't give a shit who you think you are!
This is a perfect track. To me this 1983 remix reminds me of the Belgian New Beat sound which flourished in Belgium around 4 or 5 years later, derived from EBM.
This was a band that was way to good for the mainstream
and they didn't have much to do with the mainstream..
The John Robie mix is the one I first heard and fell in love with. This is good though too....I may even have the Robie mix on vinyl...
My dad has played this song to me since I was born!
fantastic electro, totally stood the test of time
this was my first time of hearing it, and I felt like it was made in the present time
awesome. if you get the chance check out hip hop don't stop by man parrish. that is also a fantastic piece of music that still sounds great.

The new one “Vasto” has that same timeless quality.
Mon dieu que j'adore se morceau !!! Sa fait partie de ma jeunesse dans une boîte ( le tyky) vive les années 80 et la new wave!!! Dinor.

Terrific! Brilliant song who reminds my at those super beautiful eighties!
Great track and scenes of Sheffield Victoria. Takes me back.
Eon sampled the high-pitched femaled vocals for thier 1992 release "Basket Case"...
I love Cabaret Voltaire... amazing as always!
I love Basket Case!
It sounds and looks like EBM that Front 242 made a few years later. Really innovative.
Blows up my mind every time.
Music and Image the perfect combination, always ahead of the game. . .
great electric-new wave group of 80s we all love for ever!
This track/video is so good is brings tears to my eyes ...
Industrial... first of all but than dance, techno, electro etc electronic music pioneers...
And to think I was brought here by a Taylor Swift misprint 😮
Though it was a different song with the same sample: Soul Vine (70 Billion People) from Plasticity
No shit. They just tried to trick me with the Disney release. I’ll assemble everyone. : ) Edit: If she wants to do a cover…
🤣🤣
the best band in my life Thanks a lot for share !
So unique'and still sounds fresh'35yrs + on.
Check out Peter Murphy " It cuts you up" really good eighties shit! And Kraftwerk! Long live the eighties, class of 87!!
Man, I love Cabaret Voltaire. The original version of this song (from 2X45) is so much better than this remix but the video is outstanding.
omg! Not heard this for over 20 years! Wow, bloody brilliant. Thanks so much for posting!
It doesn't surprise me that before Front 242 show in Buenos Aires, the support dj's trio played this track.Guess I was one of the few who knew who made that track, and why they played it. ;)
Ariel Popperl okay... tell me why?

I heard somewhere one of the members of the group " Hula " was in corent with a member of CV, not ?
Awesome song. I have the album "2x45" on vinyl and this is a different mix of Yashar than on the album. This must be the extended dance mix. I love both versions!

legendary industrial group.
Love em and other groups like NINE INCH NAILS,FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY, DEPECHE MODE, GARY NUMAN, ANGEL SPIT, ALLFLAWS
They're super cool.
The dancing moment, I wonder if Severed Heads used the same video as Cabs to their "dead eyes opened" ...?
!!!
aunque depeche mode son y seran por siempre los unicos grandes, los verdaderos pioneros de la musica son los cabaret voltaire.

Ahead of its time as usual from the Cabs...i was groovin' to it when i was 22. At the start of the techno world...awesome.

The most underrated band ever
Love this stuff.
So long ago... Who was I then and whom have I become. Was it even real, wish I knew.
Legendary band
@vladhed comes from "DEMON WITH A GLASS HAND," an episode of "THE OUTER LIMITS" from Oct. 17, 1964.
Now I finally know where Dynamix II got the "Where are they hiding?" sample used in their track "Sedona" from. So good!
+nunatak reminded me of it too, but isn't it from a movie?
+koerperkontrolle The sample is from an Outer Limits episode titled "Demon with a Glass Hand."
