I watched this film twice and was completely moved. My mother lost her hearing in her mid 40’s and I had a limited understanding of how frightening it was for her. Her life became increasingly isolated and even with hearing aids she could really only hear background noise. My heat broke watching Riz portray his character with such incredible honesty and raw emotion. I think he certainly should have won the Oscar for Best Actor. I’ve never seen anyone perform like this in my life. Looking forward to his future work.
Aspiring journalists should be taking notes! This is a wonderful example about how to prepare and conduct and interview. It is so refreshing to see authenticity, humility and knowledge among actors this days!
I watched 'Sound of Metal' and I was left completely spellbound. Riz Ahmed really is a revelation in the film. I was wondering how he performed those scenes when his character - Ruben - becomes deaf, because he goes on an entire journey from slowly losing his hearing, to going deaf. Truly extraordinary. A great film that really touches your heart, mind and soul ❤
I have seen this film twice, and it is phenomenally moving and an amazing initiation of Ruben Stone....who is resilient and I felt he would be resilient in all of his life experiences. Great Film...I hope it wins many Awards.

My depressions have i get, because i have getting bullied very cruel for my whole childhood and youth. writing is my biggest passion in life, but after two cancellations i had not the courage to send my manuscripts to more publishers, because even two cancellations bring me near to killing myself and make my depression even more horrible. My depression is like a black hole, which is getting bigger and bigger every day and will devour me soon. My eating disorder makes me getting weaker and weaker from day to day, i have to die soon. This is Cate Blanchetts fault, because she didnt help me, when i asked her desperately for help. I was a big fan of her and thought, that she has a good heart, so i have send her a few of my fantasy stories and ask her for giving me a job as writer, because i need a task in life and would make my biggest passion in life, the writing, to my profession. I write Cate about my desperate situation and how near i am to death, but she didnt help me, she didnt care. Cate has not the heart, to save the life of a real desperate, poor, sad, autistic fan, which comes nearer to death with every day. How can she be so heartless? She is no good person, she is a actress, which plays only a good person in the public, because her management tells her that this is very important for good publicity. Cate didnt help me, because this would bring no advantage to her. She only helps other people, when it brings an advantage like money or good publicity to her. That is the sad truth, i must die, because Cate didnt have the heart to help me. How can she be so cruel and heartless? Well, i am not rich and famous, so i am nothing for her, she only pays attention to people which are in her own society class.
