Currently, the diamond launches at 8am and 12pm, and the solos launch at 9am and 1pm. They are currently practicing separately. They will join up sometime in the next couple of weeks, I believe.
Mr Hughes would you happen to have the practice schedule for when theyr'e at the base? Last few times I went down to El Centro they were rehearsing at the bomb range..
It looks like they want #4 (I think) to connect to the diamond not on the runway anymore but connecting as they gain altitude pulling up away from the runway. It is extremely cool to see from ground floor. But if you're at an air show you can't see them connect to the diamond. So if what I'm seeing right now if they are connected to the diamond while pulling upwards seems like a pretty interesting show change.
I was out there yesterday and #4 moved into the slot over the runway before the climb. Not sure what was happening in this video on the first launch. But on the second launch they did the usual slot maneuver over the runway.
I’ve always wondered if the the two-seaters fly significantly different in formation than the singles. I do know watching the Blues NEVER gets old!

Extra thought their spacing is beautiful. (Marching band talk sorry)

Lead Solo makes mistake on take off manuever
Why do they practice there and not in Pensacola?
Less air traffic in the desert area around El Centro
less weather all year round
Why do they have two 7 jets?
One is a 2 Seater.😉😎
The squadron is assigned 11 Super Hornets, of which two are two seat "F" models.
I think it's more interesting that both -Fs are being flown solo the last couple days...
