Thanks Navie, I took a hiatus from producing after leaving high school to focus on my trade but I'm recently getting back into it. Your videos are by far some of the best on youtube I appreciate what you're doing man.
Man, what are you doing with all these beats that you make for videos? Because are really good and you should make a beattape with them or something like that
navie, i did a crazy application of the "same bass, different sample idea", but in a trap beat. you can actually mount two different melodic samples for your drums/808s, and use (sparingly!) the second loop in some bars, like you would do pauses. it is better if the secondary loop is more on the monophonic side.
What a wonderful way to start the work day. Nice little daily dose of Navie inspiration to carry my mind through the day til I can clock out and cook up! 🙏
Very interesting. I've started experimenting more with layering atypical sounds with drums. I also want to start experimenting with manipulating the sounds I already have on different sections with effects or adding non-musical sounds as opposed to adding more melodic layers and instruments. I Would like to see you cover Eminem's production style.
The number 1 thing that defines jpegs production is he follows no rules, and makes music from a very intuitive place. He wont put a synth in just to have a synth, everything he does is to get an emotion across and let the sonf breathe.
i think he uses latch mode and a mixer to get to bring textures and tracks in and out at first i thought he was arranging it all but now i think it's probably just latch mode at least that's how i'm doing it now, beats bouncing midi stems and chopping them up
What you talking about?? He has a huge fanbase and millions of streams on Spotify. Many rappers and beatmakers out there wished they had the same numbers Peggy has
I love this beat and your awesome for doing this for us. But why do plenty youtube producers fail to be truly experimental. Also samples! Do you not have a killer music taste. I thought all producers do? No offense im just genuinely annoyed at the utter normalcy on youtube I see.
In my opinion, everyone starts off with mimicry just to learn the fundamentals. And as they learn how to mimic more and more styles, they begin to develop an original style of their own (which is a blend of all of the different things they've learned). I think it's a bit unfair to call this being ingenuine if you genuinely have an interest in learning one particular style of music.
@@NavieD naw i thought it was some group lol. I just never checked him out. I never even heard of him until i watched some sampling videos on bandstands channel. Ima have to check him out
i am not amazed by that dude as a producers. maybe thats because i am surrounded by extremely great producers in my country, so my bar is set to extremely high, anyway, that dude sounds demo and not very unique.
another technique worth noticing is those long and fast kick rolls
So tight!
1/32 triplet, fire. Also works well with tight 808/trap style snares.
Yeah, especially in Calvert, I’m not sure but I think the kicks change throughout the beat, it’s fucking crazy.
i love how he emphasizes the kicks in his mixes a lot it works so well
