I had lunch with Colonel Sanders when I was in high school, about a year before he died. It was at a Boy Scouts summer camp, KFC donated the food, and Col. Sanders came out one afternoon to eat lunch with us. He sat at the end of my troop's table (there were several troops at the camp) and chatted with us. He was very a very kind and charitable man.
Adam, we lost my dad five and a half years ago and this series with your dad has been terrific. It’s something I wish that could have done with my kids and dad. What a wonderful trip to be able to take and I think we all are loving your dad making jokes!
I love your Dad Adam. He is sweet, witty, smart, cool and handsome. Your relationship with your Dad reminds me of my relationship with my Dad, who passed away a long time ago. Like you and your Dad my Dad and I had so much fun together. God has blessed us with such loving Dads. ❤️❤️
I too lost my father about a year ago. He was my best friend and I miss him so very much… I can’t properly convey how much he is missed! This series makes me smile. I’m so glad they got to do this trip together and sharing it with us ❤️
The muralist did a great job, with the attention to detail in having the chicken barefoot like Paul McCartney in the original album cover, that made me smile. Your Dad is awesome, he reminds me of the way my dad was. With the movie quotes, I got it from him. He left this plane in 2005 and I miss him evryday. Seeing you with your Dad gives me a great deal of hapiness. Thank you for sharing with all of us!
Im from Kentucky and my first job was at a KFC where the owner had the Colonel himself come train him when he first opened back in the day (sometime in 70s)...so I learned to cook chicken from someone who was trained by the colonel himself! As a born and raised Kentucky boy I'm rather proud of that one!
Will be sad to see this road trip over. Have really enjoyed hearing your dad's stories and jokes. Could you do catch ups with your dad every now and then for us? Maybe meet for a coffee in Celebration. Or a day at Disney together reminiscing? Just an idea. Cheers
That's a great idea! I'm re-watching the road trip videos. Loving them even more a second time. Adam and his dad are wonderful to watch. Great to see a father and son having such a good time together. Yes...please do more of these videos. Maybe include your mom too? I'm sure she's a wonderful person also. Back in the early 80s, as I was driving from San Diego to Los Angeles, I passed a limousine on the interstate. The rear passenger side window was open, and sitting with his elbow out the window was Harlen Sanders smoking a cigar.
