- Details for the new EREBUS Ascent will be released next weekend.
This is the second watch offered by Jody of 'Just ONE MORE Watch' channel and his business partner Steve and their micro brand EREBUS.
This has all the potential to be THE no.1 watch release of the year ( no kidding!) and here are 6 reasons why!
Some nice predictions there! Thanks for the pre review!
The result is awesome.....wasnt far off
@@perfectwrist23 thank you. We both worked very hard on it!
Gentlemen, while I was not extremely impressed with the Origin, the Ascent is an amazing GADA watch! Congratulations
Yea, I have the first Erebus in black. Pretty cool stuff for the money. Let’s see what Jody is going to cook in his kitchen. 🕐⚙️🍸
I think they should put special marking or wording for the people who preorder. Like 1st day issue, or something similar making it SUPER SPECIAL!
Good idea....First edition!
Just seen the release video and it look very smart . Nice case , some great watch faces and smart hands and lume . Add a series 9015 movement. Pity the postage at £26 and import fees will add nearly 30% in uk.
Yes! One or two for me.....I was pretty spot on I think
The import costs via DHL are a killer. It's probably going to add another £100 to the cost of the watch which is a major purchasing consideration. My Helm Vanuatu and Komodo both arrived last year via Royal Mail with no charges at all.
I agree with you about the release of the Erebus Ascent. I have already purchased the Adventuring dial with the j-bracelet and can't wait for it to come. I also own the Pagani design field watch with green dial like yours, and I absolutely love it. Once I got the Pagani in hand, I was amazed at the quality and beauty of this watch. What's more amazing was the price. Nice review.
Thanks. The pagani is staggering. I ended up going for the green fume.
I plan to order two. I'm thinking the orange fume, and...?
Tough decision. I went for green fume, which I expect has the mix of sunburst and dark in correct light
You’re reviewing a watch before it’s been released?
No. I'm giving reasons to be hopeful
Watch the video. No review here
He’s probably seen it. Don’t fool yourself
Watching this video a day after the actual release. And I’m genuinely blown away by what Erebus is offering with the Ascent. I like my Origin very much, but I wasn’t blown away by it. This one has a very high probability of blowing my socks off. Now to pick one… damn it. First World Problems I suppose…Thanks for the video!
And thanks for watching!
I have the same problem. Dial choice.....I'm guaranteed to have second thoughts
I ordered the aventurine dial version. The orange one was the one I first got into but having such a dial already on my Zelos Blacktip made me go for the aventurine. 🕐⚙️🍸
I've been fortunate enough to see pretty much all of the Ascents. Trust me when I saw this, the designs are a lot more interesting than the Origin (which I didnt buy) and the dials are fantastic. I'm buying 2 or 3!
Hey well done on the scoop. Thanks!
Strictly speaking, shouldn't a GADA be 200m?
No I don't think so. It doesn't have to be a diver.
Track Record??! They’ve made one (1) watch!! Take it easy!! I’ve seen the new watch, (The Ascent) and I like it, but don’t use track record as a reason why when a brand new company has made one watch that is a diver. Not exactly an industry first! The Origin was mid at best.
With track record I was indicating the enthusiasm, the communication, the delivery, attention to detail with factories etc etc. The Origin wasn't breaking any new ground, but they proved they could deliver and are serious about the brand.
I hope you are right. With the Origin, it seemed to be a box ticking exercise, all the right specs, but without any passion and turned out like Helm light. 🤞they are braver with this one.
Possibly...didn't want to be quite so brutal. It was a success tho !
@@perfectwrist23 Yes and I am glad it was a success, just didn't buy one myself.
The fact that Erebus has watches to sell, makes them more appealing to me. Not interested in a 1yr waiting list 😂
@@bradleyburton4762 Good things come to those who wait ; )
@@dunderhay9169 Helm Light 😂😉
Well the first one was just ok not great, people cant seperate their love for the owner from the watch on its own merits. The new one seems more interestibg to me movement, and price, but i am not really hopeful as its probably not my style but i am curious.
There is definitly more people in the watch industy that have way more experience seems like a bias towards jody but it can cloud the judgement, need to seperate the hype from the actual value of the product, there is some really stiff competition in this price band from seasoned microbrands
Yes let's see. The hopefulness comes from his critique of endless GADA watches. With any luck they have taken some risks with the individuality
Combine the love for the channel and it having great specs at an affordable price. You are talking from the perspective of someone that has many watches
Your wall clock runs backwards 😊
Ha
Fancy editing
I wonder what the watch community would say about this watch if it wasn’t Jody’s baby ,I think that the value here is no exist ,can buy for $400 nice and good other watch from respectable brand
Well I actually do think, having owned Citizen automatic JDM watch and many Seikos that this is a great everyday watch. What is on offer here would be more expensive from , say CW, and I believe the quality is equally high. I'd agree possibly with the first launch, Origin
I’d agree. The Origin was meh, but the Ascent is exactly what most watch buyers are looking for. It’s the affordable Seiko SARB that we have been missing for years!
