Nice I'm glad Case put the Barlow back full time at least they can be found in the 70. range rather than 125. Love that Gray bone with the C.S. Thanks for sharing Brother
Using the shop hammer as a small anvil is a great idea. I'll have to copy that. Soon as I find an old hammer head. A big old 8lb sledge head would be great for that. Gotta start looking for some old hammer heads
Really liking the looks of that one. I’ll probably pick you up and I prefer their CV steel. Won’t be a safe queen 😂. Agree on the points on GEC, I have several of their blades too, I kind of regret not getting more when then we were readily available and not that expensive either.
Sorry you had to correct your new knife. I guess with some brands we have to unfortunately fall back on that old saying, if you want something done write you have to do it yourself. Beautiful knife thank you for showing. Stay safe cheers.😊
I just ordered one of these. It was against my better judgment but if it has problems, I'll be sending it back to Case to get fixed. If we would stop trying to fix them and sent them back, they would get the hint
@BakeryWizard13 They've said the reason they think the knives are better than they used to be, there are fewer people making claims. I'm going to try. Every knife I have from case has qc issues. Some are pretty awful. I know if I had made some of these, I'd be embarrassed. I have a large stockman in 1095, you have to open the sheepsfoot to open the spey blade. It's the only one that has only 1 problem.
@BakeryWizard13 well, it looks like I don't have to. I ordered the same one in your video and I don't think they could have done a better job. Blades are nearly centered, no gaps at all, and they did an above average job at sharpening it. I also ordered a peanut in CS from Shepherd Hill and it's just about as nice. I finally have a couple of well built Case knives!
@@Nothingtoya well that's good, I have a few well built ones. A lot of them have blade play when I get them, but I get that from every manufacturer occasionally
Finally got mine today! Unfortunate you had blade play. I wonder if you could have exchanged it for another one. Sounds like yah fixed it tho? Im sure we will see some more colorful covers. I am also hoping for more carbon steel but we will probably get a red peach seed with a shield.
Thanks for the video. I got mine over the weekend and think the pictures don't do the series justice. I agree that there shouldn't be a shield on a barlow. About the saw cut bone being the only CV barlow in 2019 is incorrect. They also made the yellow delrin in CV that year. IIRC, it was a shepherd hills exclusive.
I hate to hear about the blade play, I bought two of those and I tell you they had the best fit and finish I’d every seen on a case knife they was perfect.
Blade play is simply unacceptable. Even on a $15 Rough Ryder. Because it fundamentally affects the ability of the knife to function as a knife. Shaking a knife while holding it by the blade is hardly a valid test because a knife is never used in that way! Case's QC sucks - every time we're told matters are improving, nothing really changes. This is because it's all about attitude, and until Case's attitude fundamentally changes they will keep pumping out substandard products. It is a pity, because Case can make an excellent knife when they put their mind to it. Well done on correcting your knife though - if you want to get rid of the 'Pivot Show' just rub the area with fine emery paper (I use 1200 grit) then polish the bolster. It works like magic.
@@BakeryWizard13 Yeah, me too. It sucks. But Case is bad - I've returned 4 out of every 5 Case knives I've bought over recent years, compared with 1 in 10 GECs, and with GEC only costing about 50% more than Case those figures reveal a consistent theme.

Barlow is my favorite knives, that is a beautiful knife
Just ordered one this morning, same color. Im truly excited to add this one to my Barlow collection..
Great to hear they’re making more barlows..hopefully they make single blade runs!

Great video. 😊

Unfortunately I'm not sure they would

Sea dragon with carbon would have been HOT!
Great video! I just got mine in as well and love it

Good stuff, love a good knife, keep it up 👍
Need that in my life 🔥

Oh, I forgot about that one
That large blade is called a clip point.
Very cool barlow sir. Did they release any single blade carbon versions?
Not yet

I've had knives with blade play from every manufacturer, although Case more than most.

I don't know man, seems about 5-10 dollars too expensive. We will see what happens. I
