Being a parent is often stressful because they're just trying to do their best (usually), but it's so easy to make decisions that hamper their kid's development. Having a permissive parent and the other be authoritarian is messy. I personally have high anxiety and still struggle with routine (and especially schedules) years later.

I had it while I wasn't supposed to and after a few months I got rid of it bcz it's just so toxic and unnecessary imo. The only one I kept is Snapchat bcz all my friends have it and it's not as toxic as Ig or Twitter and my parents actually let me have it too. I'm the older sister and I have to accompany my little sister too bcz she's done some past things that r extremely bad and can't be trusted now. Before that tho I would still go bcz she's very young and my mum always taught me that 2 is better than 1 from devastating stories she's heard of young girls walking about, even during the day

Maybe partly bc I was antisocial, but my parents made it clear WHY they gave us these rules, and even when they didn't, I was the only one of my siblings who knew why. Now, because my parents trust me, I have the most freedom among my siblings. I have more freedom than my older sister, and I was allowed to have a personal number before her as well. I think I'm happy they gave me these rules. They're reasonable imo.
