Yeah that’s kinda true. That’s 16 pulls beyond the guarantee. Even if you only pull for one of the two characters in a given patch, if you lose the 50/50, then you get neither limited character nor either of their signature weapons. Although that is still a minimum of 10 a rank pulls per patch. Even if you kept losing 50/50s, you’d eventually end up with every A rank M6 and at least one of every stable S rank. I think there should be more than 17k, but maybe not necessarily double. Maybe somewhere in the middle like 25k ish. At least then you’d still be incentivized to spend a little bit of money to get what you really want. Even then, the monochrome bundles are pretty damn steep. It should cost half as much as it does but they’d never do that.

On top of that, if you get summons on the dupe shop instead of W-Engines, this number should go up to around 115 pulls or so. Sure, if you assume the worst case scenario, this is still not enough to guarantee a character. So if there is a particular character you really really want, (say, Miyabi) it's probably better to save in advance. However, over time, if they keep this pace, we should be able to get roughtly one limited characters per version as f2p and still have a couple pulls left over. And since the game is pretty easy and there is no PvP or leaderboards, there isn't much pressure to go for W-Engines. As far as Hoyo goes, ZZZ is one of the most f2p friendly games, imo.
It's still sad that there are so many characters and team combinations, but you only want to stick to one or two teams and about six characters. How about more challenging content and more free stuff to experiment with? I should get out of gacha games..

This is probably my biggest gripe with the game. ^^; ZZZ's combat is good, but the characters are not super balanced and it takes a while to raise them, so I end up using the same one or two teams everywhere. Hopefully this will get better over time as we grow a bigger roster. I suppose saying "screw the meta!" is also an option, especially if you can already beat all endgame content. But I wish the damage dealers / stunners on the standard banner at least had better elemental coverage. (Why don't we get a single ice or ether damage dealer, but we have 4 Physicial ones?...) Well, I suppose this is an issue on most gacha games, at least at the start. But for what it's worth, I tend to diversify my teams a lot more when I play PGR or WuWa compared to ZZZ. (Since they make it easier to obtain/build good teams for different elements, and have a lot of characters that are both powerful and feel good to play on the standard banner, or even given out for free.)

Even if you screw the meta, you still need to pick the same low number of characters to level up. Even more so, since you have to compensate for their being comparatively weak. I remember how much I wanted to level up and try different teams when I was starting the game, seeing all those enemy weaknesses and stuff, only for me to curb my enthusiasm in site of the right way to play. After all this time I'm clearing everything with 4 presets, making 2 distinct team pairs. Drive disks siphoning end game energy doesn't help either. I just can't find myself to say screw it I'll focus my energy to leveling up and trying an underleveled character, let alone an unused one, when my discs still are and always will be worse than they could be.

If you already have two solid teams, rather than hyperinvesting into them or pre-farming for future meta charactets, you can start investing into off-meta characters you think are fun instead. Unless there is some major powercreep or difficulty spikes in the future, there is no need to mini-max every drive disc and skill level, so... The lack of variety on teams you can play is a problem that tends to solve itself over time. Although I do think there are things they could have done to minimize it, like increasing the materials gained to level up characters and skills, and making the standard DPS characters stronger and more varied. As for the infinite tower... My understanding is that this is permanent content, and there is no need to rush it, right? And also you only get more summons on the first 15 floors, the rest are just disk crafting materials and bragging rights... Plus, this is just a survival check, not a DPS check, correct? Or does that change at higher floors? And, well, at least for the first 15 floors, I feel like Caeser sorta trivializes it, as she does most content. I've yet to attempt the later floors, though.
Daily pass + Battlepass giving 124 pulls in polychromes is actually insane for a single patch. Not to mention the actual limited and standard tapes. And i also love how we get so many free boopons that it basically feels like ill never miss out on any new bangboos that come out.
so I had to look up what Canuto is and apparently it's Howl's Spanish name. so it's what you get from the scratch cards from the Newsstand. however, I have no idea how this source calculates 300 here? from what I can see, you can only expect to receive 5 x 20 per month, or 7 x 20 per patch for 140 polychromes. with luck it can be more, but it's silly to calculate with that. please correct me.
@ginpachi1 I enjoy it, yeah. Skipping a whole patch is something you gotta do sometimes if you're not interested in certain characters. I did pull for both burnice and caesar this patch and qingyi before that so its not like I've been hording since day one.

I currently have 3000 in my account after Burnice. So if I skip 1.3 (one month) I can get this amount, at the least. Currently I don't have enough ways to get more since I maxed out all of the things to do in game. x_X
So the reason it became 17k polycrome is because you added the master tape and boopon to the final computation which mostly all the players didn't use polycrone on
17k is the same amount i got yanagi and her engine. it was crazy luck and i was confused. Lost 50/50 in early 20 pulls that i got soldier 11 dupe(it was supposed to be lycaon dupe, i got a boy singing) and got her in 70 pulls. For her engine i got in 50 pulls. 6400 polychroms saved or else i would have spent 23,4k in total. This mean i can pull both miyabi and harumasa including the engine
always make my pull on the start of the new banner and it hasn't failed me too much so far but Yanagi I might have to juice every event possible to get enough pull for her and the wengine
